We went on a short trip to Kyoto with our family. We stayed at a ryokan near Amanohashidate. After enjoying the hot springs with our family, we had a course meal with crab shabu-shabu as the main dish. I'm not a big fan of crab (I don't like dishes that are difficult to eat), but thanks to the cheerful demeanor and skillful hands of the landlady, I was able to enjoy the crab. I regret not knowing how to eat crab deliciously before, as I realized how delicious it can be. First, there were matsuba crab with ponzu sauce and various condiments, as well as crab miso inside a yuzu fruit. We had sashimi such as salmon and yellowtail, and once the hot pot was ready, we started with crab shabu-shabu, grilled crab, and crab sashimi. The landlady skillfully prepared the crab for us, and my husband, children, and I enjoyed the luxurious time of just indulging in the delicious food. The crab miso was rich and flavorful when dipped in it. The grilled matsuba crab had a slightly burnt surface, giving it a fragrant and savory aroma that filled the room. The matsuba crab was truly delicious whether grilled or in the hot pot. Finally, we finished with crab-flavored porridge using the remaining broth from the hot pot. I was impressed by the landlady's ability to engage in pleasant conversations with our family and her warm and reassuring personality. The service we received was different from French service, but it was still excellent.

I decided to stay at this accommodation based on the excellent reviews on the booking site. From the reservation stage, I received very kind and helpful guidance over the phone. I was truly impressed. Finally, the highlight of the stay was the meals. Being by the sea, the main focus was on seafood. I thoroughly enjoyed the menu filled with various seafood dishes. The fried flounder was crispy and delicious. I tried shirowo (white croaker) for the first time and wished I could have had more. The breakfast was also satisfying and tasty. The inn's hostess and staff were amazing at engaging in lively conversations. Despite the small size of the inn, the hospitality was so outstanding that it overshadowed any sense of being small. It was a wonderful dining experience.

I stayed at the Takashimaya Inn in Miyazu. It took about 8 hours to drive from Tokyo on the highway. The inn itself is old but very clean inside. I stayed in a room with a loft and was able to relax. I chose this inn because it was reputed to have delicious fish. The staff were considerate and asked about my food preferences in advance. The dinner dishes were all really delicious, with simmered fish, turban shell, and other tasty seafood. What I will never forget about this inn is the friendly and entertaining staff. The waitress and the young female manager were delightful and made my stay memorable. I even received a New Year's card after my stay. The follow-up service was excellent. This inn has become one of the places I would like to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

We stayed at Takashimaya Ryokan with our family to enjoy sightseeing in Amanohashidate, delicious seafood, and hot springs. The ryokan was small but clean inside. The bright and friendly young proprietress made our stay very comfortable with her attentive service. The ryokan is famous for its natural spring water, which was surprisingly delicious! The hot spring bath was very nice, with no strong smell, although it was a bit small, more like a large private bath. Many people come here in winter for crab, but unfortunately, crab season was over. However, we enjoyed delicious local fish such as fat and crunchy houbou and flounder sashimi. The shabu-shabu was also delicious, and we savored dishes like grilled turban shell. We ordered a sake tasting set, which came with over 5 types of local sake paired with delicious sashimi, a truly delightful experience. Our stay for 3 people cost 50,000 yen, which was very reasonable considering the delicious seafood. We definitely want to come back again for more. Lastly, this ryokan is managed by a bright and beautiful young proprietress. We look forward to visiting again to see her.

I go to San'in every year to eat crab. The inn I used to visit every year closed down after the owner passed away, so I have been looking around this area for crab and hot springs. By chance, I booked this place in my second year of searching. My impression after actually staying here is that the crab was served in a two-course meal. Normally, crab dishes take a long time to prepare and are too much to finish, but here they grill the crab for you, so it's easier to eat and I was able to finish both servings. The facilities are newly renovated from last year, and the bath area, which used to be small, has now become a bit bigger, allowing for a relaxing soak. The service is the advantage of a small inn, with personalized service that feels quite nice. The appearance may not be anything special, but it's a inn that I would like to stay at again.
