Located near the Michi-no-Eki in Miyazu, this ramen shop has been around for a long time. It is a small shop with only counter seating, and there is a parking lot in front of the shop. I ordered the Chashu ramen with soy sauce and meat because if you don't specify, it won't come with Chashu. The Chashu is generously placed on top and the red meat releases a delicious flavor as you chew. The noodles are on the softer side, but the soup is rich in oil yet light in taste, with a hint of sweetness. The seaweed topping adds a nice touch. This ramen is well-balanced and can be enjoyed daily.

I had lunch at Akashiya in Miyazu. I was initially thinking of getting the Miso Butter Char Siu, but I was drawn to the unique naming and ended up ordering the Paitan Char Siu without really knowing what it was. It had bean sprouts, seaweed, green onions, char siu, and a soup similar to tantanmen. The flavor and saltiness were not quite satisfying, it felt like something was lacking. I realized that I should trust my instincts when choosing a menu. If I have the chance, I would like to try the Miso Butter Char Siu next time.

Solo touring restaurant visit ~ Ordered chashu-men with 'shoyu' broth. The toppings included roast pork, wakame seaweed, menma bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and green onions. Be careful, as if you order regular 'ramen,' it comes without any chashu slices! I didn't have high expectations due to lack of prior knowledge, but the clear shoyu broth had no unpleasant odor and a good depth of flavor. The chashu was tender without being too soft or tough. The noodles were medium-thick straight yellow noodles with a chewy texture. The abundance of bean sprouts provided a crunchy texture that added to the deliciousness. Personally, I found it to be a tasty bowl that made me wonder why it isn't more popular. Recommended for those who enjoy Showa-era style ramen.

Located just south of the Hamacho intersection on Route 178, this restaurant has a small parking lot for about two cars on the left side. I parked at a nearby free parking lot and walked over. The interior has only an L-shaped counter, which can fill up quickly with around ten people. They offer three types of ramen: soy sauce, salt, and miso, with an additional tonkotsu ramen available. I ordered the soy sauce ramen and waited a bit. The soup was light and common in flavor, as was the noodles. The toppings included bean sprouts, green onions, seaweed, and four slices of pork. The pork was quite firm in texture. It felt like a good way to end a night of drinking. This old-fashioned soy sauce ramen was a nice change of pace. However, be aware that they may close early or take unexpected days off, so it's a good idea to call ahead if you're traveling from far away. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by for lunch. There was a seat available right away. I ordered soy sauce ramen with chashu noodles. The soup was clear and not too heavy, with plenty of oil. The noodles were topped with meat, not just chashu slices. The ramen had a generous amount of bean sprouts and seaweed, with a light saltiness that was not overpowering. It was a delicious and refreshing bowl of ramen that I could enjoy again tomorrow.

Today's ninth business trip to Maizuru! Today's lunch is in Miyazu City! Around 11:45, I parked my car in the parking lot right next to this restaurant and greeted the owner as I entered. There were no other customers at that time. Looking at the menu on the wall, I saw that they had soy sauce ramen for a cheap price of 550 yen. The owner suggested upgrading to chashu ramen since the soy sauce ramen didn't come with chashu. My colleague, for some reason, ordered a large portion of yakisoba. The owner asked if he wanted curry yakisoba, but my colleague insisted on regular sauce yakisoba. I ordered soy sauce ramen with rice, and the owner asked if I wanted a large portion. The ramen was served promptly with chashu, menma, moyashi, negi, and wakame toppings. The soup was a bit oily and hot, with a mild flavor. The chashu was just right, not too soft or too tough. I also received rice and perilla-seaweed. The restaurant got a bit busier with a family of three ordering miso ramen, soy sauce chashu ramen, and large portions of vegetable ramen. I was curious about the vegetable ramen, which was served with blanched vegetables instead of stir-fried. I enjoyed the meal, including the well-cooked rice. As always, I finished everything and left the restaurant with a satisfied "thank you for the meal"!

A traditional ramen shop. Located about a 3-minute walk from Mipple in Miyazu. They also serve Miyazu Curry Yakisoba, a local specialty. I recommend the miso chashu ramen, with a rich broth and delicious roasted pork.

I enjoyed a wet-style curry yakisoba at Fujiki Shokudo, and then headed to Akashiya, where they serve a dry-style curry yakisoba. It was easy to find as it faces a main street, and there is free parking nearby for up to five hours. You can also walk to Amanohashidate for sightseeing. I arrived before noon, and the counter was already starting to fill up. I ordered the curry yakisoba from the owner, who runs the place alone, and waited for a while. When it arrived, it was sizzling hot and delicious with a spicy kick. Thank you for the meal!

Kyoto Prefecture, Miyazu City, Ramen #146 in 2014 (1st time this year, 1st time overall). I had work in Miyazu after a long time. I arrived and went straight to the site for the day. Unfortunately, the person I was looking for was not there. But I didn't want to give up and go back after coming this far, so I decided to grab lunch nearby first (hoping that the fact that I visited would somehow prompt a contact, and it did!). I had been aware of this restaurant since my time in charge of northern Kyoto, but never got the chance to visit before being reassigned. It had been a lingering issue for me. It was past 1 PM when I entered the empty restaurant with only counter seats surrounding the kitchen in an L-shape. The menu was not on the counter seats but on the wall, offering a variety of ramen options such as soy sauce, miso, and salt-based, as well as toppings like butter and chashu. I decided to go with the Chashu Ramen for 680 yen. The food arrived in 5-6 minutes. The Chashu Ramen came with chashu, green onions, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and seaweed. The chashu was lean with a good texture and flavor. The noodles were medium-thin and cooked firm, while the soup, which seemed lacking, had a noticeable layer of oil on the surface, giving it a unique flavor. The restaurant also had a small parking lot for about 2 cars. In the Miyazu area, ramen shops are scarce, but this one, with decent value for money and a parking lot, is a valuable find.

I visited this restaurant after visiting the Naraisan Temple near Amanohashidate. I was worried it might be closed during the break time, but luckily it was open when I arrived around 4:00 in the evening. It seems like a rare find in this area as there are hardly any ramen shops around. The menu was quite extensive, and I chose the salt ramen this time. The bowl that arrived shortly after was clear and looked light. It had a thick layer of lard on top and was piping hot. The taste was a bit sharp with a noticeable saltiness. The noodles were medium-sized straight noodles. The toppings included bean sprouts, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions, giving it a healthy touch. The bowl stayed hot until the last bite, which was quite impressive. Personally, I think it would go well with miso. It was a satisfying bowl to fill my stomach. Thank you for the meal.
