Fukuchiyama Station North Exit, head east. After a while, you will see Fukuchiyama Castle, and the shop will be on your left just past that intersection. The 1st floor is a parking lot where you can park about 4 cars. When you go up to the 2nd floor, you will see the lunch menu at the landing. Upon entering the shop, there is a long table at the back that can seat 6-8 people, and several tables for 4 people. I had understood from previous research that it was fully smoking allowed, but the tables had a non-smoking sign. Japan ranks lowest among advanced countries in terms of passive smoking in public places. It's great to see such shops! Review from March 2017: I used this place after a long time. I wanted to try the Katsudon that was mentioned in another review, so I ordered the large portion. It took a little while, and then I heard the sound of frying. After a short wait, the Ankake Katsudon that I had seen on this site appeared. It had a faint sauce aroma. The katsu was crispy. It was interesting! This time I had it as a single item, but it might be good to have it as a set with something else. Thank you for the meal.
Review from October 2016: Now, what to order...I was very curious about the Katsudon mentioned in the previous review, but first, I wanted to try the basic taste of all Chinese restaurants, so I ordered the soy sauce ramen lunch. After a few minutes of waiting, the dish arrived. As mentioned in the menu, the soup looked light. I took a sip of the soup. Yes, it was indeed a light taste. It didn't leave a bad aftertaste, but the soup lacked depth and seemed monotone in flavor. The noodles were standard thin Chinese noodles. It seemed like the water content was low as the noodles softened quickly. The toppings included two slices of chashu, a few thin menma, bean sprouts, and green onions. The chashu had a strong flavor and was tender. The menma had a noticeable taste. The bean sprouts were too strong for this soup. Overall, I felt that this soy sauce ramen was quite mild in flavor. The depth of the soup was lacking. When aiming for no artificial seasoning, if you follow the opposite path by using the original ingredients, you can bring out the umami without relying on artificial seasoning. Even in restaurants without artificial seasoning, there are many places that successfully bring out the umami.
