Despite Kaosu Keema being sold out, I was told they had one serving left, so I chose that along with the Classic Chicken Masala. I opted for turmeric rice for a balanced color palette. The curry portions were quite generous, almost overwhelming, with more curry than rice. The spiciness of the curry was strong, even for someone used to spices like myself. Towards the end, it became quite intense. If you don't increase the rice portion, it might be a good idea to order a lassi. Despite not having the depth of flavor of popular Osaka curry spots, this restaurant offers a good amount of vegetables and protein, and the price is very reasonable for the quality. In Kyoto, where unique spice curry places are hard to come by compared to Osaka, this restaurant in the heart of the city is a valuable find for those looking for edgy curry options.

During the Obon period, the lunchtime service drink is suspended, and drinks are priced higher when ordered with curry. Around 1:30 PM on holidays, the restaurant was full, and I waited about 5 minutes to get a seat. [What I ate] 2 types (small) ¥880 Cilantro ¥180 Mango lassi ¥500 The Kaosu Pork Keema was sold out, so I ended up ordering the Butter Chicken Masala and Alco Vegetable. There were several items sold out displayed on the entrance door, so those with a specific item in mind should visit early. Also, it took almost 30 minutes from ordering to being served, which was a bit surprising. Why? Finally, when the food arrived, it was quite authentically spicy. It might be too much for kids. And most of all, so much cilantro!!! I was surprised. A lot of it. Some had long stems that made it feel like it was getting stuck in my throat. Unless you're a cilantro fanatic, it might be better to skip it... (sorry) I thought adding an egg as a topping would have been better than cilantro. I wanted a milder element because it was quite spicy. The mango lassi was delicious, but when the curry costs ¥880 and the drink costs ¥500, it feels a bit off. Visited the spice curry specialty store "Chaos Spice Diner" in Shinkyogoku. I have been to the main store in Yotsubashi, which is popular. Ordered two types of curry (¥1180) and potato salad (¥200). The two curries were the classic Keema and the limited edition Parip. The Keema had a strong spice flavor, but it was just right for me as I don't like it too watery. The Parip was my favorite, like a Sri Lankan bean curry similar to hummus. The texture of the beans and the mild taste were well preserved. It was delicious.

Located on the second floor between Shin Kyogoku and Teramachi Kyogoku, this restaurant provides a pleasant dining experience. Upon entering, you will find a deodorizing spray instead of hand sanitizer. Please make sure to use it before leaving. The menu is quite simple, allowing you to choose from three options and customize with extra cilantro if desired. The flavors did not disappoint, and I will definitely be returning.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is beautiful and very nice. The curry has a perfect amount of spices! The rice also goes well with the curry! The chicken topping is also very delicious!! Among all the curries I have tried in Kyoto, this one is personally at the top level in terms of spiciness! Definitely give it a try.

I went around 12:00 on Sunday and waited in line for about 20 minutes before getting in. The taste was very delicious and refined. Personally, I thought it was the best, but the person I came with said it was spicy (lol). If you don't add any toppings, it's around 1000 yen, but all the photos of the shop had toppings on them and looked delicious, so when I added a lot of toppings, it came to around 2000 yen. I am very satisfied!

Within 10 minutes, about 70% of the seats were filled. I ordered a combination of three types of curry and a spiced egg. Considering my stomach's condition, I decided to save the popular Gai Yang (Thai-style grilled chicken) for my next visit. The curry at this restaurant is unique, with each type having its own distinct flavor and spiciness that comes through clearly. It was a great experience and has become a must-try curry dish when visiting Kyoto.

I thought it would have been better if I had mixed brown rice and white rice. The curry had a good amount of spices and plenty of ingredients, which made it very satisfying to eat. It was delicious.

I visited for the first time in March. I arrived just before closing time, so I couldn't try the Keema, but I had it with coriander and egg toppings. I couldn't see the menu very well, but the sweet potato and coconut curry helped balance out the spiciness of the other curry, creating a unique dish. I would like to go again.

Wednesday 7:00 PM It had been a while since I visited Chaos Spice Diner. Two curries were already sold out, with only one left. I was interested in the Tomato Cream Chicken, so I decided to go in. B. Tomato Cream Chicken Large Gaian 250 yen "Can I have it in large portion?" I asked. "We can't do large portions for curry, but we can do it for rice," they replied. I ordered a blend of rice and waited for a while. At 7:09 PM, the curry arrived. There was a generous amount of curry, which made me very happy. It seemed like more than other curry shops. The Gaian was piping hot and very delicious. You can savor the juicy meat. The curry had a solid spiciness and richness without much sweetness. It was a bit disappointing that the Pork Vindaloo was sold out (I would have ordered it if it was available), but I was satisfied and full. Thank you for the meal. Tuesday 6:25 PM There were two groups of customers ahead of me. The Chaos Pork Kheema, which I usually order in section A, had been changed to Pork Vindaloo. I decided to go for A Pork Vindaloo and B Chicken Ginger as a side in small size for 880 yen. I also ordered a Gaian for 250 yen. The Pork Vindaloo was running low, so they suggested going for two small sizes with different curries. I was looking forward to trying Chaos Spice Diner's Vindaloo. At 6:38 PM, the curries arrived. The Gaian had a huge portion. The Pork Vindaloo tends to be associated with sourness, but this one seemed to be spicy (probably). People around me were drinking water like crazy. I saw several people getting refills by the pitcher. I can handle spicy food, so my opinion might not be very helpful. The Chicken Ginger was milder. Eventually, when mixed together, it all tasted great. Ordering a Gaian, even in a mini size, will fill you up. There was plenty of achar, and it's truly a curry that energizes you. This popular spot always seems to have something sold out when I stop by after work, but today was lucky. Thank you for the meal.

I have used this shop many times. Each time, I can enjoy a different curry flavor, so I never get tired of it. Sometimes they serve very spicy curry, but that's also enjoyable. Sweating while eating, I still want more, that's how addictive their curry is. I want to eat the ones I like again, but it's rare to encounter them again. I think developing a new curry every time is tough, but they really put effort into menu development. I want to keep coming back regularly to make sure this shop in Kyoto doesn't disappear.

The shop is located in Kawaramachi. It's not very bike-friendly in Kawaramachi, but luckily there was an empty bicycle parking space. I ordered two types of curry, one with corn and the other with miso. They were served with turmeric rice. The corn curry was amazing, I had never tried it before and was impressed by the perfect balance of corn sweetness and spices. It was so delicious that I want to eat it again. The miso curry, on the other hand, didn't seem to bring out the best of both miso and curry flavors. It was decently tasty but felt like it was missing something. Next time, I want to try the curry that seems to be the most popular.

On Saturday afternoon, I watched an Indian movie at MOVIX. There was a scene where a beautiful mother cooked curry for her son, and it looked incredibly delicious, so I was inspired to have lunch nearby. When I arrived around 2 o'clock, the restaurant was about 80% full. I was given the option of sitting at a table or at the counter, and I chose the counter. Option A was sold out, so I ordered a combination of options B and C, which allowed me to try three different dishes. It was a great choice as I got to enjoy spicy, flavorful, and mild dishes. The restaurant had many records on the walls, played relaxed reggae music, and had a nice atmosphere, which may appeal more to men. It lived up to expectations as it was a Kyoto branch of a famous restaurant in Osaka.

The food is delicious so I keep coming back. You can choose from 1, 2, or 3 types of curry to mix. This time, they had 2 types available. Although I didn't get it this time, the egg topping is also delicious. There was a staff member before who drew a lovely illustration on the takeout container, I hope they do it again. The atmosphere of the shop is stylish and perfect.

I heard that I could eat Osaka-originated spiced curry in a corner of Kyoto's bustling district, so I decided to visit. I am not sure what delicious spiced curry is like, and most of the spiced curry I have eaten so far has been delicious, so I do not know how to distinguish it, but it was as delicious as the famous spiced curry restaurants in Tokyo.
