Hello everyone! It's Yamadera! Today, I had the day off from work so I decided to go for a day drinking session. I took the Hankyu Kyoto Line and got off at Omiya Station. I walked north on Omiya Street and found a standing bar called "Chokotto" on the second floor of a white brick building. The entrance is through the East ticket gate, take Exit 1 and head up the red stairs to the second floor. The interior of the bar is stylish and welcoming, making it easy for even solo female customers to visit. They open at 12 pm, with two female staff members during the day and three in the evening. The drink menu includes draft beer for 290 yen, shochu for 290 yen, sake for 240 yen, wine for 340 yen, highball for 340 yen, plum wine for 340 yen, and more. I started with a Black Kirishima shochu highball for 290 yen. For food, they have a variety of dishes from regular menu items to daily specials, all reasonably priced. I tried the salmon sashimi for 340 yen, which was delicious and had a nice amount of fat. The thick slices made it very satisfying to eat. I also had homemade kimchi for 290 yen, made with mibuna greens, garlic, and chili, giving it an authentic taste. The staff were very friendly and engaging, making the atmosphere lively and enjoyable. The bar quickly filled up with customers, showing its popularity. I highly recommend trying the fish shojiyaki for 290 yen, which is a unique dish made with a special cut of fish. The bone-in meat was incredibly tasty. I also tried the chicken karaage for 240 yen, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The salted pollack roe for 240 yen was also delicious, with a kimchi-like flavor. I had a great time enjoying the food, drinks, and conversations at this standing bar. It's a fantastic place for a casual and enjoyable drinking experience. I will definitely be visiting again. Just be careful not to drink too much and stumble on the stairs on your way out! Thank you for the meal.
