This is the main branch of the popular Genghis Khan specialty restaurant "Rakutarou," which opened in 2005 and now has branches in Ikebukuro, Shinbashi, Nakano, Monzen-Nakacho, and Nerima. Located just a 1-minute walk from JR Ikebukuro North Exit, the restaurant emits a wonderful smell of Genghis Khan as you pass by, making you stop in your tracks. The building has a lot of history, and the interior exudes a retro Showa-era atmosphere. The first floor has a counter with 8 seats and 3 tables for 4 people each, while the second floor has 4 tables for 4 people each. The clientele includes solo diners, female customers, and a wide range of age groups. This time, we made a reservation for 4 people starting from 6:00 PM on a weekday. We were seated at a table on the second floor. We ordered the Genghis Khan all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink option for 120 minutes at ¥4818, which includes two types of lamb meat (shoulder loin and shoulder), sausages, bean sprouts, vegetables, and rice. The all-you-can-drink menu includes draft beer, highballs, various sours, wine, makgeolli, and more. The meat here is not frozen but delivered fresh from Hokkaido, so there is no unpleasant smell. It is tender and can even be eaten raw. The quality of the lamb meat here is on par with that of "Daruma," one of the most famous Genghis Khan restaurants in Tokyo. We indulged in eating a lot of lamb meat and drank at a fast pace, thoroughly enjoying our time. Thank you for the delicious meal! 🍻
