I had been curious about this place for a while. It is located just a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. Inside, there were table and counter seats. This time, we were seated at the counter. The regular course started with all kinds of meat being brought to us. The shoulder loin had a good balance of redness and fat, making it very juicy, while the shoulder was closer to red and thick. The sausage was small but crispy and delicious. The liver had little smell, and the heart was chewy and tasty. My companion was very satisfied, saying it was even better than Genghis Khan in Hokkaido. Indeed, it was just as delicious as what I had in Hokkaido, and the fact that it was all-you-can-eat at this price was too good to be true. By the way, when it comes to grilling meat, I prefer to steam it on top of the vegetables instead of grilling it directly (it makes the meat much more tender. You should definitely try it!). Since it was my 1.5th stop, I ordered the meat and vegetable set for my first dish, and the lamb chowder for the second dish, which was just right. Rakutarou in Ikebukuro is a great place to be.

We opted for the Wide Course which includes 120 minutes of all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink for ¥4380, while the Regular Course is 90 minutes for ¥3980. The price difference of ¥400 for 30 minutes was surprising, but it's a fair consideration for the customer's eating and drinking pace. There were about 10 of us, so we were seated at a table on the second floor. Even though there were two ventilation fans, we expected to be surrounded by smoke, so each person was provided with a plastic bag to store their belongings and jackets. The starter included vegetables, shoulder loin, shoulder, sausages, heart, and liver, which we grilled on the table-top charcoal grill. The lamb was delicious without any gamey taste, even my friend who doesn't like lamb found it enjoyable. The speed of additional meat and drink service was excellent. Initially, I thought the 90-minute course was enough, but in the end, I was glad we went for the 120-minute option as we ate and drank to our heart's content.
