Now, the breakfast bento was more luxurious than expected. It came with instant miso soup and a bottle of green tea. The hot miso soup was really good. I had the opportunity to visit Fukuchiyama and had a breakfast buffet at Fukuchiyama Royal Hotel for 1300 yen. The hotel was beautiful and had a hot spring. The buffet mainly consisted of Japanese food, with options like toast available as well. I forgot to take photos, but I enjoyed raw egg over rice, and side dishes like rolled omelette and simmered hijiki seaweed. I finished with a hot coffee with milk. Thank you for the meal.

It has been so long since I had a fancy meal at a hotel that I can't remember when was the last time. From the appetizers to the sashimi, main course with meat and uni-topped chawanmushi, the food was served quickly and I couldn't savor it slowly. By the time I started eating, it had already cooled down, which was disappointing. I haven't eaten at enough hotels to compare, but the overall impression was neither good nor bad. The room and the hotel were clean and comfortable, and it was a nice space in a quiet, nature-rich location.

This time, I had a business trip to Fukuchiyama after a long time. For dinner, I had a bento box at this hotel. It felt a bit lonely to eat in a suit while watching the hotel guests enjoying their meal in yukata. The bento had a luxurious presentation with a variety of seafood dishes such as grilled fish, fried food, simmered dishes, and a seafood chirashi bowl. The flavors were rich and the rice went down easily. The sushi rice made me quite thirsty after finishing the meal. Thank you for the meal.

I moved from Osaka to Fukuchiyama, Kyoto today and stayed at Hotel Royal Hill Fukuchiyama & Spa, which has a natural hot spring. The hotel is located near Fukuchiyama Interchange and is a large facility. The spa seems to be popular for day trips as well. It's a shame that the road in front of the hotel is under construction, affecting the aesthetics. There is a row of cherry blossom trees, but they are past their peak bloom. The hotel entrance is spacious and offers a nice view of the courtyard. During check-in, I confirmed the breakfast options, choosing the Japanese breakfast. The cost for breakfast was 1100 yen, which is a bit pricey compared to business hotels near Fukuchiyama Station. The breakfast venue, "Wasabi," is located at the back left of the first floor entrance. I started my day by using the spa and taking a stroll in the courtyard, preparing for breakfast starting at 7 am. The Japanese breakfast included grilled salmon, rolled omelette, mixed vegetables, roasted seaweed, tofu with sauce, rice, and miso soup. Although there were no special ingredients, I enjoyed my meal in a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere.

Returning from a trip from Niigata to Shimane, this time I decided to stay overnight in Fukuchiyama because the hotel there had hot springs (lol). I didn't have high expectations since there were limited options for last-minute reservations, but the place turned out to be clean and the service was good. According to information on Tabelog, the restaurant closed at 8 pm, so I rushed there after checking in, only to find it fully booked (tears). However, I was informed that they actually closed at 10 pm, and I could dine there after 8 pm. So, I went to the bath first. You could wear the provided yukata and slippers in the bath area, making it easy to relax after soaking. The restaurant had table seating with a view of the garden and also tatami seating, quite spacious. I started with a draft beer. Since the Western course was already finished for the day, I ordered a salad, sweet and sour pork, and dumplings. They also had Japanese dishes on the menu. The salad was elegant. The portion was a bit small, but it was delicious. The sweet and sour pork used black vinegar, giving it a refreshing taste. The dumplings were small but the chili oil was so good! I wanted more of the chili oil, so I ended up ordering spring rolls as well (lol).

■Introduction■ Located just off National Route 9 heading towards Kyoto from the city of Fukuchiyama, there are no dining options around the hotel! There is only a convenience store nearby. The hotel is part of the First Hotel Group and the service is decent. The hotel has a lounge and a restaurant called Wasabi, but when I went around 9 pm, it was already closed. (-_-;) I wish they would stay open at least until 10 pm! The hotel has a nice atmosphere, including a beautiful courtyard. It might be the number one hotel in this area. The hotel also has a hot spring with an outdoor bath and sauna. The lockers require a deposit, which is refunded. But I forgot to take my money back (laughs). ■Breakfast■ *Both Japanese and Western breakfast options for 1100 yen *I chose the Japanese breakfast, which included salmon, hot tofu, hijiki seaweed, okra with sesame miso, rolled omelette, miso soup, and pickles. The miso soup was too sweet with white miso. The rolled omelette had a strange scent. The salmon and hot tofu were decently tasty. The coffee was complimentary, but it had decent bitterness and no acidity. The aroma and richness were lacking. Next time, I will try the curry set or the Western breakfast set.
