Dr. Fujisaki Shinichi, director of BODYPIT KYOTO, here. I visited Matsuo Shrine for a prayer and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Suzukaze on my way back. The chicken katsu was huge but incredibly tasty! My girlfriend ordered the hamburger which was also very satisfying. The portion size is amazing for only 700 yen! The food was so tasty and the landlady was very kind. They also offer a morning menu. Thank you very much.

I ordered a hot coffee and Morning Service A set. The coffee was good, but the scrambled eggs were delicious. They offer Yomiuri, Kyoto, and one sports newspaper. There are only a few magazines available.

When you turn from the intersection near Marutsumoto Yotsutsumi towards the housing complex, you'll see a sign that says "Restaurant serving set meals and bento boxes" called "Ryofu." I decided to visit this restaurant. It's a bit of a walk from the Matsuo Shrine area since there's no parking nearby, but it's a good opportunity to make up for my lack of exercise. As I approached the restaurant, I noticed a sign that read "Our most popular dish: Chicken Katsu for 650 yen," so I decided to try it. Inside, I saw a local man and a lady who seemed to be from the northern part of Kyoto enjoying their meals. It seemed like most of the customers were from the nearby housing complex or residential area. The lady running the restaurant, who I assume is the owner, was serving alone. Later, a man who appeared to be her husband helped her with the cooking. I placed my order (Chicken Katsu for 650 yen) and waited while watching the daytime TV show on the large television. The restaurant had six tables, including a sturdy wooden table that could seat six people. The sound of the knife cutting through the crispy Katsu made me excited. I noticed that they also seemed to be good at making curry udon. After about 15 minutes, the Chicken Katsu was served, and I couldn't help but smile at the generous portion. It wasn't huge, but it was definitely satisfying. It came with miso soup, rice, and pickles, making it a decent value for the price. I started with the miso soup, which was simple and delicious, with tofu, fried tofu, and green onions. Next, I tried the Chicken Katsu with two types of sauce - regular Tonkatsu sauce and Ponzu sauce with shichimi. I personally preferred the regular Tonkatsu sauce. The Katsu was a bit lacking in chicken flavor, but the crispy coating was enjoyable. I couldn't resist eating it all, which might be a problem for my waistline. The rice was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The owner seemed to have a passion for cooking, and her friendly demeanor and apparent intelligence made me think that the restaurant would continue to thrive. I would rate it 3.5 stars out of 5.

I heard that the chicken cutlet set meal is popular online, so I decided to try it. It was indeed delicious. The chicken cutlet was large, and it came with two types of sauce. The rice portion was bigger than I expected, I couldn't finish it all. The interior of the restaurant gave off a nostalgic old-fashioned cafe vibe, which I personally liked. It was a weekday afternoon around 1pm, so there weren't many other customers, which meant good service, but I'm not sure how it is during busy times. They also offer takeout, so I plan to try ordering a bento box next time.

We happened to be nearby and decided to stop in with our child. The atmosphere of the cafe was old-fashioned, and we enjoyed dishes like simmered hamburger and mixed fry set. The portions were generous, and even our growing daughter was satisfied with the delicious meal! Many people seemed to come for lunch, as there were still quite a few customers even after 1 pm. We were surprised by the size of the famous chicken cutlet being served at the table next to us. The friendly couple running the place left a good impression on us! This restaurant is more delicious and affordable than fast food chains, making it a recommended spot for families to dine at.
