The walnut bread with red bean paste filling was delicious. It was very sweet, but the flavor of the red beans was also strong. I thought it was cooked just right. The bread itself was also delicious! It had a milky taste, living up to the name of the bakery. The walnut bread had lots of walnuts on top and was covered in a cookie dough. This seemed pretty standard. There were also raisins inside.

It's a small shop, but they always have a variety of bread available. I like soft and chewy bread, but I enjoy the flavorful hard bread here. I hope they continue to operate in this location for a long time.

Hello, this is Average. Recently, I have been visiting popular bread shops, so this time I will change things up a bit and write about the popular bread in Kansai region with a little extra. Since bread is mostly consumed at home, I will focus on taste and cost performance for my bread review series. I will rate based on the following criteria: fluffiness, aroma, sweetness or saltiness, fine texture (moist), and chewiness (dense). Please keep in mind that bread preferences vary, so choose the bread that suits your taste based on these criteria. The point system is based on my personal preferences. Today's review is about "Pandore" bakery: - Fluffiness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Aroma: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Saltiness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Fine texture (moist): ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Chewiness (dense): ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall rating: 19 points out of 25 points Pandore offers a variety of bread including the "Rich Pandome" which is made with 100% fresh milk. The bread has a nice aroma, but the taste of the dough itself could be improved. It is recommended to enjoy it toasted to bring out the aroma. In terms of cost performance, the Rich Pandome priced at 350 yen for 1 loaf may be a bit on the higher side. Overall, here is the ranking of delicious bread in the Kansai region based on the total points: - Kyoto: Bakery Shirakawa (24 points) - Hyogo: Shokupan Honpo (24 points) - Aichi: Saikoukyu Shokupan Senmon-ten Ishikawa (24 points) - Hyogo: Mugi Mugi (24 points) - Osaka: Shokupan Koubou Lami Fukushima Honten (23 points) - Osaka: Tezukayama Pan Shirou (23 points) - Hyogo: Kobe Shokupan Honpo (23 points) These are just some recommendations based on my personal preferences, so please consider your own tastes when choosing a bread. Enjoy your bread hunting in the Kansai region!

[2016.5.9 (Revisit)] This is my second visit. This time, I purchased the "Sunrise" and "An Butter". First, about the "Sunrise". It is topped with caramel and the melon skin is crispy and delicious. The dough inside also has melon juice mixed in, so you can enjoy the nice melon aroma until the end. Next is the "An Butter". It is the flagship product of Pandore (^ ^ ♪ When you bite into the hard dough, a subtle saltiness comes out, creating a nice combination with the sweetness of the red bean paste. The butter has a strong saltiness, and it felt like there was less red bean paste. [2016.3.24 (First visit)] I went to Pandore's Saga store, a bakery near the Kameoka Line's Kameoka Station. This time, I bought the Butter Bread, Mushroom and Chicken Gratin, and Almond Twist. About the "Butter Bread", it is Pandore's specialty product. The surface is covered with castella, with butter oozing out from the gaps. The abundant butter is unsalted and has no flavor itself, while the sweet castella dough on the surface creates a good balance. Next is the "Mushroom and Chicken Gratin", where macaroni, shiitake mushrooms, mushrooms, and chicken are mixed with a mellow white sauce, topped with cheese on the surface as an accent. Tomato sauce is also used, making it different from normal gratin bread! Lastly, the "Almond Twist" had plenty of sliced almonds with a good aroma, a crispy texture, and sugar sprinkled on top, making it like a sugar bun.

In October 2012, I visited a bakery near Arashiyama, at the Kameoka Station. It had a nostalgic atmosphere, with a variety of soft and sweet pastries on display. The Raisin Coppe was unique, with a cookie dough topping adding extra sweetness. The overall balance was good, but the dough was slightly dry, lacking in texture. It was a reliable bakery with decent flavors, but nothing particularly stood out.

Pandore, located 300 meters from the previous Pitapan Bakers, is run by the son of the owner of the store in the northern district. The menu includes various delicious items such as fried mochi, piroshki, mini bread Danish, cream cheese Danish, enoki and shimeji mushroom pizza, bacon croissant, an butter, butter bread, croissant, cream croissant, yuzu cream, shrimp chili pizza, okonomiyaki bread, olive and bacon pizza, slightly spicy chili oil French bread, carbonara croissant, ratatouille pizza, caramel nuts, apple pastry, sunrise, custard Danish cornet. The reviewer tried the cream cheese Danish and mushroom pizza, both of which were delicious and satisfying. The cream cheese Danish was rich and not too sweet, making it a great option for those who don't like overly sweet treats. The mushroom pizza was loaded with a variety of mushrooms and juicy cheese. The reviewer is looking forward to trying the yuzu cream and other items in the future.

Best place to enjoy traditional Japanese bread: Hiroshima Prefecture. In Kyoto, there are many bakeries offering unique and traditional bread, each with its own special touch. However, aside from Andersen, the bakery that truly makes you feel like you're back in Hiroshima can only be found here. First, there's the "French bread bakery" style. A similar genre is "Poirier." The taste is not too strong, but it's like French bread made more palatable for Japanese people. It's light and easy to eat. - Fluffy waffles: reminiscent of oak, these waffles are light and fluffy. - Pumpkin cake: a familiar treat for Hiroshima locals, similar to butter cake found in various shops. - Butter bread: similar to a favorite from Hiroshima's Seven Eleven, the walnut coppe Jr. - Butter cookies and cocoa cookies: reminiscent of Mozart cookies, a unique treat in Hiroshima. - And the highlight, "agemochi!" A common side dish in Hiroshima's supermarkets. Overall, as a former bread shop owner in Hiroshima, I am quite picky about bread, but this bakery truly brings back nostalgic memories. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is slightly richer compared to another bakery nearby. If you're craving nostalgic Hiroshima flavors, this is the place to go.

I had a meeting in Arashiyama and started to feel a bit hungry, but didn't have enough time to sit down at a restaurant. While walking, I found a bakery called Pando near the Randen station. I bought three pastries and had a relaxing lunch in a nearby park. I didn't want to take a risk with a new place, so I bought safe options like curry bread and anpan. When I took a bite, there were plenty of fillings inside! I was completely satisfied and full after the meal. Since then, I have been buying bread from this shop and enjoying it on a bench next to the Togetsukyo Bridge.

This bakery is known for their incredibly delicious shokupan (Japanese white bread). They also offer a variety of unique and intricate pastries and sweets. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a must-visit bakery in the Arashiyama area. The shokupan is best enjoyed half as is and half toasted in a toaster for double the deliciousness. When eaten as is, it's soft and chewy. When toasted, it's crispy on the outside and still chewy on the inside. The dough's sticky texture is truly delicious! In terms of calories, typical bread items include: Shokupan (174kcal), Anpan (266kcal), Melonpan (400kcal), Cream Pan (290kcal), etc.

This time, I visited the shop "Pandre" and got information from a source that I have known for over 10 years and have been going to. First, the location of the shop is right in front of Arashiyama Main Line Kameoka Station on the Keifuku Electric Railway (very easy to get there by train), but there is no parking lot, so it is best to go by bicycle, motorcycle, or train. I have known about this shop for over 10 years now, and have been a regular customer since then (I visit about 2-3 times a month to buy bread). The bread at this shop is delicious, especially the slightly smaller raisin bread which is amazing as butter toast. In my personal opinion, the taste of the bread is one of the best in Kyoto. I have tried bread from various reputed shops, but I always end up coming back here. The overall evaluation is that the taste of the bread is consistently satisfying, and even if I try other places, I always come back here in the end. I would rate it 4.5 stars for its taste, 4 stars for its atmosphere, and 4 stars for its cost performance. I heard that the raisin bread is made in limited quantities, so there are days when it is not available. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance if possible.
