The area near Kyoto Theater in Kyoto Station is a bit hard to find, but there is a soba restaurant and izakaya nearby. It serves Kyoto specialty Nishin soba, so you can enjoy a taste of Kyoto. I had the chilled Nishin soba this time for a summer feel. It's a casual place where you can easily experience the Kyoto vibe. Thank you for the meal! ☺️

Located on the second floor of the Kyoto Theater in the Washoku Koji, this soba restaurant has a very calm atmosphere. The interior is spacious, almost making you feel like you could get lost. They are open from 11:00 to 22:00 with no break in between. They offer lunch menu until 15:00, and then switch to an izakaya menu. I visited around 14:30 on a weekday and the place was bustling with customers. Orders are placed using a touch panel. I had a bottle of Super Dry beer for 704 yen and the Nofun Gozen set for 2750 yen, which included a variety of dishes like sashimi, chawanmushi, zaru soba, and more. The set was quite substantial and delicious, perfect for beer pairing. The portion was generous, and I couldn't finish everything. The restroom is inside the restaurant, with separate facilities for men and women. The staff were efficient and friendly. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy whether you're dining alone or with a large group.

I ordered the delicious Oden set and the Soba and Mini Oyakodon set. I chose the Oden set, which was a collection of tempura and simmered dishes. The rice had chirimen toppings and there were plenty of side dishes, so even though I don't usually eat much rice, I found myself wanting more. I also tried some of the Soba that my companion ordered, but it seemed like it had been cooked a little too long, which was a bit disappointing. The Oyakodon was delicious. They had a variety of soba options, including Kyoto curry udon and duck nanban, which I thought looked interesting.

Curry meat soba for 990 yen, extra-large portion for 220 yen (tax included). The restaurant has a spacious and calm atmosphere, and the staff are all polite and attentive. The soba noodles are quite thin and have a delicious flavor. The curry soup has a rich broth and a strong curry taste, which I liked. The meat is lean but tasty, and the curry flavor seeped into the fried tofu, making it delicious.

I visited for a midday drink at an odd hour. Until 2:30 PM, they only have a limited lunch menu. From 3 PM, the menu expands significantly. The atmosphere is more like an izakaya than a cozy soba restaurant. Orders are taken using a tablet. There were 5 of us and we ended up drinking 3 bottles of wine from 2 PM onwards (laughs). Bottled wine starts from 2,400 yen, so it's quite affordable. It's conveniently located near the station, making it a good spot for a quick drink while waiting for the train.

Although it was a soba restaurant, the Kujyo Negi and duck kamameshi looked delicious, so I ordered the kamameshi, namafu dango, and yuba spring roll-style dish. The size of the kamameshi was slightly larger than a rice bowl, about one serving, making it possible to eat it together with the soba. It was delicious, but some of the appetizers, such as the yuba spring roll-style dish, looked similar to those from other restaurants on the same floor. Perhaps they are using the same promotional photos that are commonly seen in Kyoto izakayas.

After enjoying plenty of sake, one of the members mentioned wanting to eat duck soba, so we came to Tokubei here. Located in a corner of the Kyoto Theater, it was a Sunday night and the streets were quiet, but the restaurant was bustling with customers. We ordered duck soba (1518 yen tax included), sudachi soba (1078 yen tax included), tororo soba (1078 yen tax included), and soba shochu Unkai (517 yen tax included). We didn't have high expectations, but the dishes had a solid taste and texture, and the dashi broth was quite good. If you're in the mood for soba near Kyoto Station, it might be worth stopping by for a quick meal.

I considered where to have dinner and decided to visit a soba restaurant after drinking. They had a variety of delicious appetizers like fresh wheat gluten, tempura with shrimp and edamame. I started with draft beer and tried three different types of premium sake, which left me satisfied.

I had a slightly late New Year's party with a small group of people. We chose a drink-all-you-can course for 2 people at a place called Tokubei in the building of Kyoto Theater. There were 3 women and me, and since I am a bit older, it felt like a girls' night out. The food was delicious and we were all full. One of my friends who knows a lot about alcohol said that the sake we had was a good brand. We used a coupon and paid only ¥3960, which was cheap! Although we were supposed to stay for 2 hours, they let us stay longer. We drank quite a bit because of the drink-all-you-can course, but thanks to the Heparesis my wife gave me, I was able to enjoy drinking without getting too drunk.

Connected directly to Kyoto Station. A shop located on the entrance floor of Kyoto Theater. Although it looks like an izakaya from the outside, the menu includes kama-meshi and soba for lunch. I couldn't resist the curry udon and decided to order it. It was incredibly delicious. The flavor was rich and deep, as if it had been simmered for three days. It had a great depth and richness that made it enjoyable to eat. It was really delicious. They might want to consider changing their signage or menu to highlight their curry udon, which surpasses even dedicated curry udon shops.

There is a second floor in the theater building with a Kyoto-like atmosphere. I was worried that it might be noisy due to a New Year's party atmosphere with young people on January 4th, but the staff quickly guided us to a private room where we could enjoy Kyoto cuisine in peace. Originally focused on soba, the noodles, broth, and tempura were all light and crispy, which was amazing. We finished with a matcha parfait with gluten and coffee.

Visited because it is close to Kyoto Station. Surprisingly enjoyed the udon soba with Kyoto-style dashi flavor. The curry udon with Kujo green onions was delicious! They also have desserts like Toroji parfait, making it a hidden gem. With sunken kotatsu seating and a kids' plate available, it's recommended for families too.

You order food and drinks using a touch panel. The menu is extensive. I used it for a banquet. Reservations are also possible. The sashimi is delicious. I recommend it for banquets and drinking parties.

"Soba Sakaba Tokubei" located at the entrance of Kyoto Theater in Kyoto Station Building. This was my second time visiting for a daytime drink, and once again, the location is excellent and the food is simply delicious. What impressed me this time was that after 3:00 pm, the menu switches to the evening menu, with a significantly wider selection of drinks and dishes. Although I didn't order anything from the evening menu, the overall appeal of the place has definitely increased. I look forward to revisiting after 3:00 pm next time.

While discussing what to eat at Kyoto Station, I noticed curry udon and decided to enter the restaurant. We had to wait for about 15 minutes during lunchtime, but the atmosphere inside was calm and pleasant. The staff's service was also good, with even the inexperienced young staff members trying their best. Now, onto the curry udon - it was truly delicious. The combination of Kujo green onions, tempura, and curry was outstanding. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I used this restaurant for a retirement party for my company's boss. I have been a fan of their Kyoto-style wheat gluten dengaku for a while, and besides this menu item, the restaurant is also delicious! The staff were friendly and made our time enjoyable. I would like to use this restaurant again in the future!

A good place to spend some leisurely time. I stopped by for a quick drink while waiting for the Shinkansen. There may be other places that are cheaper and tastier, but if you want to relax in a calm atmosphere and enjoy delicious food, I recommend this place. I have visited many times. It is conveniently located near Kyoto Station and the prices are not high.

During a study tour, we had a set course lunch which included mixed rice, mini soba, small side dishes, sashimi, and tempura. The tuna was light and typical, while the tempura was crispy and delicious. The simmered dish was lightly seasoned and tasty. The mixed rice was also lightly seasoned and had a gentle flavor. I tried sprinkling some of the leftover tempura salt on it, and it really brought out the flavors. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you very much.

The lunch set with tempura soba, zaru udon, and firm udon was delicious! It had a satisfying texture and filled me up. The tempura in the tempura soba was quite heavy. The soba was a bit firm and tasty. It also came with a mini rice. The portion size was quite big! The soy sauce rice had a simple flavor.

I came to Tokubei, right next to Kyoto Station, for lunch. We ordered a beer set that was perfect for a midday drink, and I got a large portion of mori soba, while he ordered the eel bowl set. The scent of the soba was nice, but the dipping sauce had a strange sweetness that didn't agree with me. I tried some of his eel bowl, and found that unlike the fluffy eel in Kanto, the eel in Kansai had a different texture with more chewiness, which was intriguing. I was disappointed that the soba dipping sauce didn't suit my taste at all, and it left me feeling a bit sad.

I was running late for lunch so I thought about skipping it, but decided to have some soba after all. I ordered the Duck Nanban Soba (¥1480, excluding tax) at a place near Kyoto Station. There were dividers on the table for infection prevention. The soba noodles were average, but there was a generous amount of duck meat which was good. When I was told the total was 1628 yen, I was surprised, but then I realized that the prices on the menu were excluding tax. They accept payment through PayPay and ICOCA.
