Recently, I've been interested in a gelato shop called Tomomi Gelato at Kiyomizu Gojo. They source their ingredients from local farmers and make their gelato with great attention to quality. The sweetness is subtle and not overwhelming, making it easy to enjoy. This time, I tried their special menu item "Summer Fruit Thai Tea Parfait" which includes mango and melon, two of my favorite fruits. The mango was deliciously sweet, I love mangoes! I'm curious about their corn gelato, so I'll try it next time. They offer both takeout and dine-in options. #TomomiGelato #gelato shop #natural sweetness #Kyoto ice cream #Kyoto cafe #Kyoto gourmet

I visited the shop on July 17th, Marine Day, for a day trip. I was looking for a cool dessert to end my trip and found this shop on Instagram. I arrived just in time at 19:28, right before the 19:30 last order, and they kindly seated me. I tried the seasonal "Cherry, Peach, and Plum Parfait" for 2200 yen. The gelato had a strong fruity sweetness. They explained in detail not only the parfait's composition but also the types of fruits used, their origins, and even the names of the producers. The gelato parfait, with its attention to detail, was delicious! The cheerful and smiling service, as well as the pleasant atmosphere of the shop, left me with a great impression, and I would love to visit again.

Gelateria located along Kawaramachi Street. The first floor offers cup gelato that can be enjoyed on benches. The second floor allows for a longer stay with desserts and drinks available. I opted for the simple option and enjoyed my gelato on the first floor. I tried the Passion Fruit flavor, made with locally sourced fruit from Amami. It was very intense and delicious. The shop also offers gelato made with Kyoto vegetables, which I'm curious to try next time. If I had to choose two flavors, I would go for both fruit and vegetable, but if I had to pick just one, I would still go for the fruit. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I had watermelon gelato and white plum gelato. The watermelon gelato tasted just like eating watermelon, from the texture to the flavor! It was also very refreshing being cold! The white plum gelato did have the taste of plum, but as the staff mentioned, it also had a hint of apricot. Since they have seasonal flavors, I would love to go back again!

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I had bookmarked this place and happened to come across it while visiting Kyoto. I was a bit hesitant, but decided to go in anyway. A friendly person, probably Tomi-san, greeted me warmly. I was a little unsure about the flavors, but since I love cherries, I chose the Sato Nishiki flavor. When I took a bite, I was amazed! It tasted just like cherries...! The sweet and sour taste spread in my mouth, creating a dreamy sensation. It seems they have various flavors depending on the season, so I would love to visit again when I come back to Kyoto!

Gelato Assortment of 3 flavors for ¥1200: Watermelon, Corn, Acacia Milk. You can now enjoy them as a single item, with a drink, or as a set for dining in. The corn gelato had actual corn kernels in it, was pleasantly sweet, and delicious.

A few minutes walk from Kiyamachi Gojo, there is a gelato shop known for its gelato that highlights the flavors of the ingredients. I visited on a Sunday evening. You can also get takeout, and there is a cafe space on the second floor where you can sit and enjoy your gelato. If you dine in, you can also try parfaits and other sweets. On this day, I got takeout as I was short on time. You can also sit on the chairs near the entrance and enjoy your gelato. There are many flavors of gelato to choose from, including some unique ones. They use vegetables in some of their flavors like tomato, watercress, arugula, spinach, and shiitake mushroom. I was curious about the tomato flavor. They mentioned that the tomato and strawberry flavors are made fresh, so I chose the tomato flavor. I wish they offered a two-flavor option, but they don't seem to do that. If you dine in on the second floor, you can get a three-flavor option. The tomato gelato had a natural, organic taste where you could really taste the tomato. It was sweet with a slightly tangy and aromatic tomato flavor. I would like to try the other vegetable flavors next time.

At 4 o'clock on a national holiday, I went to the National Museum to visit an exhibition with a free ticket. Unfortunately, I found out that the KG+ photography exhibition that I wanted to see had already ended. Instead, I saw many photos depicting the history of the shop. I finally got to try the milk from Tanahashi that I had been wanting to try for a long time. It was amazing with a strong milk flavor. There was a certificate displayed on the wall showing that the milk had won awards in Italy (in 3 categories?). Amazing! I would like to visit the second floor next time.

A gelato shop in Kawaramachi Gojo. Ordered a three-flavor gelato for 1200 yen. Chose matcha, strawberry, and milk. Each gelato specifies its place of origin, showing attention to detail. When ordering in a cup, you can't eat in, but there is a separate menu for seating on the second floor. All the gelato flavors bring out the taste of the ingredients. Recommended for the quality without long lines.

This shop is a gelato shop located in Kiyomizu Gojo in Kyoto. I haven't had the chance to go to Kyoto recently, so when I saw it on the dancyu festival map, I wanted to try their gelato. They only sold gelato in pre-set cups at the event, but there were many flavors to choose from. I ended up selecting the refreshing Ehime kiwi flavor after much deliberation. The gelato was quite firm when I tried to scoop it with a spoon, but it had a very smooth texture. Most importantly, it had a strong fruitiness that made it feel like I was eating a real kiwi, emphasizing the sweetness of the fruit. It was not too sweet and very delicious.

Here is a gelato shop where you can also order from BASE. When they opened in Tokyo, I was curious about their vegetable gelato and tried it for the first time.
I had the rhubarb gelato. I had only ever had rhubarb in jam before, so I was surprised. It really tasted like a green vegetable! The gelato was a bit firm, like eating a vegetable smoothie as ice cream. I was happy to see that the ingredients were simple. They also had unique flavors like sansho pepper and butterbur, which I would love to try again.
The shop's symbol is quite unique, with strong and quirky character illustrations!
Menu item I tried that day/favorite:
Rhubarb gelato - 700 yen

Ordered a Rocket and Mino Musume (strawberry) parfait at Tomomi Gelato. It was filled with layers of milk, strawberries, kiwi, and rocket gelato on top. The combination of richness and acidity was amazing. The rocket had a hint of greenness, but surprisingly, it didn't feel unpleasant at all, and I completely embraced it. It was really delicious. #Kyoto #KyotoSightseeing #KyotoSweets #KyotoGelato #KawaramachiGojo #KawaramachiGojoSightseeing #KawaramachiGojoSweets #KawaramachiGojoGelato #TomomiGelato #RocketandMinoMusumeparfait

I visited a gelato shop that is particular about its ingredients, and the gelato created through negotiations with producers from various regions is outstanding! I went during the 6th anniversary and 1st anniversary of the relocation festival, and enjoyed all the delicious flavors! During the event, they offered a gelato sampling service (limited to customers who purchased gelato) and displayed a photo exhibition featuring memories of the gelato shop and the Gelato One Spoon collaboration. The Tomomi Festival will be held until May 17, 2023.

A friend who travels around the country trying out sweet treats recommended this shop to me. After trying it, I realized that the gelato here is incredibly flavorful. It's not an overwhelming richness, but rather a true representation of the natural flavors of the ingredients. While the gelato may be on the pricier side, considering the taste, it's definitely worth it.

1. Purpose of Visit
- I am in the area, but couldn't visit this shop during my last trip to Kyoto.
2. Shop Information
- Genre on Tabelog: Ice Cream
- Opened in March 2022
- Owner Morikane Tomomi realized during her training in Italy that gelato is a dessert that can directly express the taste of the ingredients. After starting as a street shop in Onna-zaka, she relocated and opened this gelato specialty store.
- Business hours: 13:00-20:00
- Closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays
3. Crowdedness and Atmosphere on the Day of Visit
- Visited around 13:30 on a weekday with 1 customer before and 1 customer after
- 1st floor for takeout and payment, 2nd floor is a slightly dim modern cafe
4. Customer Service
- Polite service following the manual
5. Order Items
- Cafe au Lait: 550 yen
- Gelato Mont Blanc: 1,400 yen
A gelato cake resembling Mont Blanc~♬ The product, plated after about 15 minutes, looks just like Mont Blanc from a distance♡ Flavors seem to change daily using ingredients from producers nationwide. Today's flavor was Royal Milk Tea!!! A delicious product with a subtle sweetness (●^o^●) Thank you for the meal.

Friday 17:45
To Tomomi Gelato,
Adult autumn parfait 2,100 yen
SHIBIRE 1,000 yen
Instead of water, warm water (hot white water) is served.
No customers on the second floor.
There was a dessert that won an award in Italy, so I ordered that along with the autumn parfait, which was only available until today.
SHIBIRE is a gelato with Japanese pepper and gin, a unique and distinctive item.
The adult autumn parfait has burdock on top, bursting with originality. A parfait that makes you think, "This is great." It was very delicious.
Tuesday 17:55
Tiramisu Gelato Mont Blanc 1,400 yen
Repeat visit. Two groups of customers before me.
Service at 18:15, 20 minutes later.
A dessert that combines the best of tiramisu and Mont Blanc. I find Mont Blanc alone a bit heavy lately, but using gelato in the cream part makes it refreshing. The coffee soaked in the ladyfinger is pleasant, and it's gone in no time. Ice cream is a race against time. It was very delicious.
Friday 18:05
New Year's Yuzu and La France Pear Parfait 2,000 yen
Gelato trio 1,200 yen
- Tart Tatin
- Milk Latte
- Mixed Berry
You can always enjoy the seasonal flavors with delicious gelato. It's not too crowded at night, so I always end up coming at night. I think it's great how they value the producers and engage with the products. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I first learned about this shop when I visited Torikokoro Endonji store in Nagoya. The menu changes with the seasons, but the Milk flavor is a must-try. Everything was delicious, but the Silk Sweet and Milk flavors were particularly amazing.

I arrived at the store at 1:00 and there was a woman waiting, so I entered as the second customer. I ordered Mr. Tanahashi's milk, but it would take about 10 minutes, so I chose the Kanata pear gelato. It had a subtly elegant pear flavor and was quite delicious. While eating on the bench inside the store, couples kept coming in one after another. I hurried to the concert at Rohm Theater starting at 2:00.

When I tried to go to Pikaro Ice in Ajiki Alley, it was closed, so I decided to try this gelato shop instead. It was easy to find as it was featured in a magazine and located on the first floor of the SAKIZO Building facing Kawaramachi Street. The flavors other than milk gelato vary depending on the day. There were quite a variety of flavors available. Since it was my first time, I went with the most classic option, milk. Although it is primarily a take-out shop with a price of 550 yen, it offers seating inside as well. The price may be a bit high, but it definitely makes you feel luxurious. Seeing all the different flavors of gelato on the wall makes me want to try them all.

Escaping the heat by seeking refuge at a gelato shop. Various magazines have featured this place. The fig, cucumber and okra, sansho pepper, mango milk, and fennel flavors were all delicious. I wanted to pair the sansho pepper with the craft gin from Tatsumi Brewery, which they have at this shop. It's rare to find such a combination.
