Located near the Goryo Shrine, this restaurant is situated to the southeast of the shrine, just a few dozen meters south from the intersection to the west of the shrine. There seems to be parking space for about two cars in front of the shop, but it's usually full, so it's best to assume there is no parking available. Upon entering the shop, you will see a counter in front of you, with a decent number of seats including a raised seating area. This time, I had the assorted nigiri sushi and the deluxe assorted nigiri. Even the regular assorted nigiri included large, thick prawns and fatty buri, providing a satisfying selection. The engawa and horse mackerel were also delicious. The deluxe assorted nigiri featured raw prawns and white fish topped with caviar, which, although a bit blurry due to alcohol consumption, was a tasty piece. There was also a grilled shrimp head included, which is irresistible for those who enjoy drinking. I found this sushi to be quite satisfying compared to other options in the Fukuchiyama area. They offer a course for 3500 yen, which I would love to enjoy while sipping on some alcohol, but unfortunately, I can only travel by car... so I'll have to resist the temptation. Once again, I enjoyed a delicious meal. Thank you.

Located near the Goryo Shrine, this restaurant is situated southeast of the shrine and a few meters south from the intersection west of the shrine. There seems to be parking space for about two cars in front of the store, but it's usually occupied, so it's better to assume there is no parking available. Upon entering the store, there is a counter in front and a decent number of seats, including a raised seating area. This time, I ordered takeaway sushi, specifically two servings of assorted nigiri. I had no prior information, so I was excited to see what I would get. When I picked up the order and opened it at home, I was pleasantly surprised by the contents. There were 20 pieces of small nigiri, making it 10 pieces per serving. This is a generous portion as many places advertise 8 pieces per serving. The variety was impressive with 10 different types of fish, including tuna, yellowtail (or amberjack), sea bream, fatty tuna, horse mackerel, sea urchin, raw sweet shrimp, and possibly flounder for the vinegared mackerel? (Please note that I did not confirm the types of fish and my knowledge is limited, so there may be mistakes. Please understand.) There were also two types of white fish that I couldn't identify, which was a bit disappointing. One of them might have been grouper or gurnard. The vinegared mackerel was delicious with a rich texture. The raw sweet shrimp was quite large, a rarity in this area. The yellowtail was fresh and sweet. The sea urchin was likely from the Pacific Ocean, judging by its refreshing aroma. The sea bream was exceptionally tasty. Overall, the sushi was delicious. The total cost for two servings was 7300 yen including tax, which is around 3400 yen per serving. The extra pieces seemed to be a complimentary service. Considering the quality and quantity, I thought it was a great value for money. It felt like dining at a high-level sushi restaurant. I would recommend sitting at the counter, enjoying some appetizers, and then having sushi as a finale. The only downside was that the rice had hardened a bit due to the time it took to get home. After seeing the photos on my blog, my mother, who lives in Aichi, contacted me saying she wanted to visit this sushi restaurant. It's rare for her to express such interest just from photos, so it must be exceptional. When I checked this site to write a review, I noticed that MyRebi had already given a high rating. I will definitely revisit this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you.

This restaurant was originally planned to be visited last week on the 21st, but due to bad weather, it was postponed. On this day, it was a small gathering with a person I had a meal with at the Kobe Fireworks Festival on August 2nd. It seems that those who visit this town for business know more about the town than those who work here, which is a bit strange. The restaurant is a sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine place located in a quiet area a little away from Fukuchiyama Station. It was about a 10-minute walk, but we took a taxi on this day. The exterior has a calm appearance, away from the hustle and bustle. The interior is very bright, with an impressive inner garden. We dined in a private room with just the two of us on this day. We chose the "Mini Sushi Kaiseki" course for 3,500 yen, which we reserved on our mobile phones in the taxi. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, including tuna, amberjack, and octopus. Grilled fish followed, with salt-grilled sweetfish being slightly small. The sweetfish had a sweet aroma like watermelon when it's good quality. Steamed dish was matsutake mushroom and conger eel, with a gentle seasoning. The tempura was scallop and edamame tempura, with a light and refreshing taste. The sushi course included 4 pieces of sushi and red miso soup, with coffee jelly for dessert. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a mix of modern and traditional elements. I felt like one more dish, like an appetizer or simmered dish, would have been nice. The conversation was lively, and it was an enjoyable time. I look forward to visiting again for a more casual dining experience. Thank you for the delicious meal.

■2014/08/27■On this day, I had a small offline meeting with a friend who just wanted to eat something delicious. Since I had done some research on this place last week, it was my second visit in two weeks. I was curious about the straightforward person's evaluation, but I was satisfied with the experience once again. Here is the rundown of the day: ■Order■Omakase Course 3500 yen A mini sushi course. Sashimi/The sashimi of the day included bluefin tuna, amberjack, and octopus. The bluefin tuna and octopus were both delicious with a texture reminiscent of Akashi. Grilled fish/They served grilled ayu fish and steamed matsutake mushrooms and conger eel. The broth was gentle and tasty. I really enjoyed it. Deep-fried dish/Scallop and edamame tempura, and conger eel and burdock yam in Yanagawa style. Although labeled as Yanagawa style, it had a light and gentle Kansai flavor that I liked. Sushi/Four pieces of bluefin tuna, squid, sea bream, and conger eel. The bluefin tuna was particularly delicious. The red miso soup and homemade coffee jelly for dessert were a perfect way to end the meal after pairing with beer and shochu. It was definitely a reasonable course in terms of content. Thank you for the meal. ■2014/08/21■This was the restaurant I had planned to have a meal with a friend from Fukuchiyama. It's a popular sushi restaurant called Aoba. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station. I had bookmarked it after searching online and finding that it was a reasonably priced and conscientious restaurant based on the photos of the dishes and the menu. Due to heavy rain, the meal with my friend was postponed, so I visited with a colleague instead! The shop, which has been around for over 40 years since the previous owner, has been recently remodeled and has a beautiful interior. There is a counter at the front entrance and a sunken seating area on the left, creating a nice atmosphere. ■Omakase Course 3500 yen■This course offers a great deal in terms of content! I couldn't drink alcohol that day, but with this course, it was already satisfying enough! ■Great value■Kanpachi carpaccio/Thinly sliced kanpachi with a sesame dressing, slightly Chinese-style. Matsutake mushroom steamed dish/The aroma of the matsutake mushroom was quite good. The sea bream was also delicious. A gentle broth that was tasty! Kamo eggplant dengaku/Grilled Kamo eggplant with a sweet miso glaze. Conger eel and burdock root in egg broth/Conger eel and burdock root simmered in a sweet broth, Yanagawa style. Sushi/Kanpachi, bluefin tuna, squid, sea bream, and flounder. Red miso soup/Good broth. Coffee jelly/Decent and quite good dishes for this price. It was a great deal. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Aoba Sushi in Fukuchiyama for the first time. I ordered the 3500 yen chef's choice course. It came with a few dishes that seemed like a kaiseki meal, followed by some sushi and dessert. I was a bit skeptical due to the low price, but there were more dishes than I expected (I forgot the exact number) and the portion size was good for the price. The taste was decent overall. The sushi was average. Considering that you can have a variety of dishes, including sushi, for 3500 yen, I think it's a good value for money. The interior of the restaurant is very clean, possibly newly renovated.

This is a sushi restaurant in Fukuchiyama. It has a nostalgic atmosphere and seems to have been around for quite a while. There are about 10 seats at the counter and also tatami seating. Even though it wasn't a weekend, there were quite a few customers when I visited. I think it's a good place to go when you want to eat good sushi. The prices are a bit high because I drank a lot of alcohol, but the sushi itself is not too expensive.

The interior of the store has been renovated and looks beautiful. The female owner is very attentive and has a great atmosphere. The head chef, who I think is her son, came to greet us. He mainly runs the restaurant by himself. We left it up to him to choose our dishes. We enjoyed small dishes, miso-glazed eggplant, grilled sweetfish with salt, soup, and sushi.
