haruoya
Located near the Goryo Shrine, this restaurant is situated southeast of the shrine and a few meters south from the intersection west of the shrine. There seems to be parking space for about two cars in front of the store, but it's usually occupied, so it's better to assume there is no parking available. Upon entering the store, there is a counter in front and a decent number of seats, including a raised seating area. This time, I ordered takeaway sushi, specifically two servings of assorted nigiri. I had no prior information, so I was excited to see what I would get. When I picked up the order and opened it at home, I was pleasantly surprised by the contents. There were 20 pieces of small nigiri, making it 10 pieces per serving. This is a generous portion as many places advertise 8 pieces per serving. The variety was impressive with 10 different types of fish, including tuna, yellowtail (or amberjack), sea bream, fatty tuna, horse mackerel, sea urchin, raw sweet shrimp, and possibly flounder for the vinegared mackerel? (Please note that I did not confirm the types of fish and my knowledge is limited, so there may be mistakes. Please understand.) There were also two types of white fish that I couldn't identify, which was a bit disappointing. One of them might have been grouper or gurnard. The vinegared mackerel was delicious with a rich texture. The raw sweet shrimp was quite large, a rarity in this area. The yellowtail was fresh and sweet. The sea urchin was likely from the Pacific Ocean, judging by its refreshing aroma. The sea bream was exceptionally tasty. Overall, the sushi was delicious. The total cost for two servings was 7300 yen including tax, which is around 3400 yen per serving. The extra pieces seemed to be a complimentary service. Considering the quality and quantity, I thought it was a great value for money. It felt like dining at a high-level sushi restaurant. I would recommend sitting at the counter, enjoying some appetizers, and then having sushi as a finale. The only downside was that the rice had hardened a bit due to the time it took to get home. After seeing the photos on my blog, my mother, who lives in Aichi, contacted me saying she wanted to visit this sushi restaurant. It's rare for her to express such interest just from photos, so it must be exceptional. When I checked this site to write a review, I noticed that MyRebi had already given a high rating. I will definitely revisit this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you.
