A restaurant that was recommended to me at a drinking establishment. I went there for lunch alone! When I entered, the master said, "Sit wherever you like," but there were only three empty seats between two tables for two, which made me wonder if this was a subtle way of saying "there's no space available" in the Kyoto style. I hesitantly took a seat (definitely overthinking, sorry). I ordered the A set meal for 1,100 yen, which includes 10 pieces of sushi, rolls, and soup. The difference from the B set meal is that the A set has 10 pieces of sushi instead of 8. As I ordered, the sushi kept coming one after another on the counter. I was a bit overwhelmed by the speed, but let's dig in! I was surprised to see fatty tuna like Otoro and Chutoro! The wasabi wasn't very spicy at all! It was so delicious. Other fish like flounder, sea bream, pike conger eel were also tasty! The white fish had a nice firm texture! Even though there was no explanation of the sushi toppings, when I asked, they kindly gave me a brief explanation. I thought the master seemed stern at first, but when I took a photo, he asked, "Are you a photographer?" and without saying anything, he gave me an extra piece of fatty tuna. That's the kind of master he is! The atmosphere is full of old downtown charm, and the staff were friendly. There were occasional small bugs flying around, but even that made me think, "Ah, it's like the Showa era," and it was forgiven in my modern-minded view of cleanliness. I sincerely hope this old-fashioned, nostalgic restaurant in the sunset of the third district will never disappear! It's delicious, filling, and highly recommended! They will be renovating the interior slightly in July, so I look forward to it. I will definitely visit again!
