A Kyoto-style teppanyaki lunch. The appetizers feature salted kelp and Kyoto vegetables, giving a refined touch. While you might expect Omi beef, they actually serve Kobe beef here, perhaps aiming for more inbound customers. This teppanyaki restaurant is located in the Rihga Royal Hotel in Kyoto. Compared to the Gion area, the prices here might be more reasonable. The appetizer plate they serve is something I would love to have right now, it's so beautiful. It's not Vetrofelice, is it? I love the plates, so this got me really excited. Teppanyaki where you can see the food being cooked right in front of you is my favorite. I had the Kobe beef fillet cooked rare, just the way I like it. It was a relaxing dining experience. Lately, Kyoto has been seeing more tourists, making it difficult to get reservations in the Kawaramachi and Higashiyama areas, and the prices are higher. If you go a bit further away from the tourist spots, you can have a more leisurely time.

This was my second visit. The service was excellent as always, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely meal and family conversation. Thanks to that, my grandmother also loves it here. We always use a private room. This time was a birthday celebration. The abalone here is tender, and the liver has no unpleasant taste, it's really delicious. I tend to overeat here, so I need to be careful... I think I will continue to use this place from time to time.

I always order additional items like spiny lobster, foie gras, and abalone, but please note that availability of foie gras and blue lobster can vary. The foie gras here is incredibly delicious and I love it, so I was very happy to be able to eat it this time! I also enjoyed Opus wine and felt very happy. If you like certain types of tea leaves, it's worth asking if they have them here!

I visited Teppanyaki Aoi on the basement floor of Kyoto Regal Royal Hotel for the first time. A friend invited me for lunch! It's conveniently located about a 5-7 minute walk from Kyoto Station. Today, I ordered the [Steak Lunch] course. It costs 5000 yen per person (excluding drinks). The course includes: Today's appetizer, soup, salad, Teppanyaki of domestic beef fillet (100g), grilled vegetables, rice, sherbet, and coffee or tea. I was able to upgrade the rice to garlic rice for an additional fee! The Teppanyaki lunch at this hotel for 5000 yen is reasonable and very affordable! I enjoyed savoring delicious meat at the counter seat. I would like to visit again at night! Thank you for the meal!

I visited Teppan Aoi at the B1 floor of Kyoto Station, for their teppanyaki research. I tried their lunch course with a rating of 3.08 on Tabelog. The teppan was 30mm thick, which got me excited! Here's what I had:
- Appetizer: Miso stewed beef, duck breast, and beer. It made me want some red wine too.
- Sweet potato soup: Very elegant.
- Sea bass with crispy skin: Cooked slowly, the flesh was fluffy.
- Mushroom salad: The mushrooms did a great job refreshing my palate.
- 60g of Omi beef: I asked for it rare on the 30mm teppan, and it was cooked perfectly to my liking.
- Rice, miso soup, pickles: Lovely!
- Dessert: Great value for money. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The restaurant we visited was Kawauchiya~ This day was the general meeting of the Kinki area branch office chief correspondent liaison council of the industry newspaper. Kawauchiya stayed at the hotel the day before, but the subordinates joined on the day of the meeting. As a reward for the two subordinates who have followed unreliable Kawauchiya for 4 years, we came to this restaurant for lunch. By using the guest discount coupon, we received a 15% discount, so there was no reason not to use it. We ordered the Lunch Aoi course and changed the rice to garlic rice for an additional 500 yen. I ordered two glasses of draft beer and one glass of non-alcoholic beer, ignoring the surprised subordinates. Subordinate A, who was looking at the menu, seemed a bit nervous about the course price. It's okay, it's a reward for you guys. Now, the appetizer was carpaccio of water octopus and grilled eggplant. Oh, we toasted before that. Subordinate B strangely doesn't like eggplant, so he got extra water octopus without grilled eggplant. The texture is good. Next was a cold potato soup with edamame sorbet. This was also delicious! Mixing edamame and sorbet makes it very rich and flavorful. The fish was sea bream. The crispy skin and tender flesh were indescribable. 60g of domestic beef fillet. Served with seaweed salt from Hiroshima. It's tender. You eat it with a lot of garlic chips on top. The garlic rice for the finale! I forgot to take a picture! It was so delicious! The dessert is somewhat Kyoto-like, but normal. Nevertheless, I'm so full. I'm worried I might fall asleep during the meeting.

I visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. Despite everything, her favorite is steak cooked right in front of her. We made a lunch reservation and arrived at the Regal Royal 15 minutes before the reservation time. The flat parking lot was full, so we were directed to a multi-level parking lot with an entrance, which was quite narrow. We barely managed to park with the sensors beeping constantly. We waited a bit as we arrived before the restaurant opened. Once it opened, we entered and were seated at the six-person counter. The cooking began. We ordered the Colorful Lunch for 4,515 yen. The Colorful Lunch included appetizers like Yuba tofu, duck loin, and salad, all of which were quite delicious. The duck loin was particularly tender and juicy. The vegetable soup was a smooth pumpkin soup with a gentle sweetness and umami flavor. The seafood teppanyaki came with thick sea bass on top of grilled vegetables with soy butter sauce. The salad with crunchy wood ear mushrooms and soy-based dressing was refreshing. Grilled vegetables included Inca's Awakening (potatoes), Fushimi peppers, onions from Awaji Island, and red konjac, all carefully selected and delicious. We requested a 60g portion of domestic beef fillet cooked medium-rare, which turned out more medium, but was still flavorful and tender. Enjoyed with Hiroshima seaweed salt, it was even better. The meal also included rice, pickles, red miso soup, and dessert with raspberry mousse and cassis sorbet. The surprise birthday chocolate plate and rose for my wife, even though we hadn't requested it, was a nice touch. The high quality of the food, skilled chef's seasoning, and great value for money make this a wonderful restaurant that I would definitely visit again with my family. 4.0 stars.

After finishing work on Friday, I hurried to catch the express train to Kyoto for a company trip. As the organizer, I had done a pre-visit and we spent a relaxing time at the ryokan enjoying geisha entertainment. The next morning, at the Kyoto Aquarium, I was surprised by how close we got to the penguins. The 2000 yen entrance fee was worth it. The well-trained dolphins put on a show that fully satisfied the audience's expectations. For lunch, we were drawn to the underground of the nearby Rihga Royal Hotel. We all forgot about overeating and overdrinking from the night before as we enjoyed steak with smiles on our faces. First beer, then red wine, and now steak - we were full and satisfied. Thank you for the feast!

Kyoto people like classic, safe, and simply delicious restaurants. Even though you can find more unique and delicious options at this price nowadays, it's important for Kyoto people to stick to this brand of eating at this price point. It's just normal and average, even for lunch.

Located on the basement floor of The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, this steak restaurant was excellent. Although I forgot to take a picture of the main dish, the meat was delicious! The presentation was beautiful, and the atmosphere and service were also great!

We entertained customers from the UK. The various grilled dishes, with a fragrant garlic aroma and good ingredients, were very delicious and we could eat as much as we wanted. The appetizers, salads, and desserts were also elegant and exquisite. Both the customers and us were very satisfied.

When asked what she wanted to eat, the 90-year-old aunt said she wanted to eat delicious meat. So, I drove to a hotel in Kyoto to give her high-quality meat. I parked at the Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto, where there was one empty spot in the above-ground parking lot. I went inside the hotel and went downstairs to look for the steakhouse. "Teppanyaki Aoi" seemed to be the steakhouse. There was a sign at the entrance saying it was fully booked. It was a Friday night at the end of the fiscal year, so it was understandable. I asked the staff if there was any possibility, even if it meant sitting next to a noisy group. Since we were there for dinner and not conversation, it was fine. We were seated at the longest teppanyaki counter. The group next to us seemed to be high school teachers, discussing education loudly. I looked at the menu to choose the meat. The last item on the a la carte menu was Omi beef loin 100g for 9200 yen. It was quite expensive, but for an elderly person hungry for meat, it was worth it. I decided to go for the Omi beef loin course, which matched my aunt's choice. The chef showed us the meat, which was thick and beautifully marbled. I asked the chef if I could take a photo of the meat, and he kindly allowed me to. The meat was cooked rare on the teppanyaki grill, and it was served in bite-sized pieces for my aunt. The taste was perfect, and my aunt, who has mild dementia, was delighted. She quickly finished the 100g portion with rice. We also had warm vegetables, including a delicious sweet turnip. I learned that this restaurant has been serving Omi beef exclusively even before it became popular. The best meat indeed comes from a top-notch hotel.

The Royal Hotel Kyoto has been renovated and I decided to visit. The entrance and lobby have been completely transformed into a modern style. There were many beautiful orchids! The restaurant "Aoi" is located on the B1 floor. My wife made a reservation for the Aoi Lunch (4300 yen per person) through Ikkyu.com. The regular price is 6653 yen, but with the reservation, it was only 4300 yen and includes a complimentary drink. The menu includes 8 items such as 70g of domestic beef and fresh shrimp, all cooked right in front of you on the teppanyaki grill. Even though I don't eat a lot of meat, the small portions were perfect and all very delicious. The teppanyaki dessert was also a highlight and very tasty. I highly recommend visiting during this opportunity!

<<Access>> One minute drive from Horikawa Hachijo, located at the southwest corner of Horikawa Shiokoji. The restaurant is situated in the basement of the upscale hotel "Rihga Royal" in Kyoto. Since it's in the basement, there is no view. The atmosphere is calm with three teppanyaki grills visible.
<<Menu>> Special course (¥3,900) includes:
- Salmon and Chinese cabbage mille-feuille with salad
- Potato gnocchi with vegetable and crab sauce
- Potage (pumpkin soup)
- Teppanyaki of live abalone
- Teppanyaki of domestic beef fillet (70g)
- Grilled vegetables (onion, shishito peppers, mashed potatoes)
- Rice, red miso soup, pickles
- Dessert (konjac mochi, sorbet - cassis)
- Coffee or tea
<<Impressions>> I visited this restaurant to try abalone teppanyaki. It's a hotel frequented by acquaintances, so I don't visit often due to the formal atmosphere, but it's especially popular among people over 40 in Kyoto. The restaurant also houses famous establishments like "Gourmand Tachibana," "Tankuma Kitamise," and "Top of Kyoto."
- Salmon and Chinese cabbage mille-feuille with salad: Very delicious.
- Potato gnocchi with vegetable and crab sauce: Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of gnocchi.
- Potage (pumpkin soup): I'm not a fan of pumpkin, so I requested a consomme soup instead, which was delicious.
- Teppanyaki of live abalone: Delicious with garlic sauce. The abalone was tender, and even the liver was tasty.
- Teppanyaki of domestic beef fillet: Tastier than expected, especially with seaweed salt and ponzu sauce.
- Grilled vegetables: Mashed potatoes were surprisingly delicious when grilled.
- Rice, red miso soup, pickles: The lightly pickled cucumber was surprisingly good.
- Dessert: Overall, the special course provided good value. The service was casual and unpretentious.

Impressive variety of dishes and great value for money. Perfect for groups with diverse tastes. The Aoi set dinner for adults and kids menu were both delicious and satisfying. The children especially enjoyed the beef cutlet and steak. The staff were accommodating and handled our group of adults and children with ease. The teppanyaki performance was entertaining and added to the overall dining experience. A great choice for a special meal with family and friends. Highly recommended.
