I stopped by this restaurant on my way back from Kyoto. I usually come here when I strongly crave Japanese food, not sushi or udon, but "Japanese side dishes". On this day, I chose grilled mackerel, spicy pork and thick fried tofu, beef sukiyaki, chicken karaage, and tamagoyaki (with pickled ginger). I also ordered brown rice and mixed grain rice. I actually wanted to eat white rice cooked with okowa, but I ended up choosing "different rice" without thinking. This time, I was able to choose the right amount without being greedy, and the flavors were not too strong, so I enjoyed it.

I visited Kyoto Fushimi Shokudo, even though there are places like Saizeriya, Kura Sushi, and Komeda around. At the entrance, you can order freshly made tamagoyaki, and if you choose grilled fish, they will serve it freshly grilled. You can choose fried foods and side dishes, and then order rice and miso soup or tonjiru at the end. The tamagoyaki costs 180 yen and you can have it with pickled ginger and green onions if you like. I think the grilled fish was 300 yen. I also had rice, tonjiru, and beer, so it came to around 1000 yen. The restaurant had a decent number of customers. It's great to have a place like this nearby. Thank you for the meal.

The grilled salmon was good, along with cold tofu (served in miso soup), miso soup, natto, fried eggplant, and white rice (regular). The total cost was ¥1,300 which is a decent price. However, towards the end, the fish was not freshly grilled but already prepared and slightly cold.

Grilled salmon with strong natto (topped with a mountain of green onions), meat suki cold tofu (microwaved and added to pork soup), pork soup. The price is quite reasonable. ^_^

I always come here for lunch with my aunt. We had the salmon saikyo-yaki series, natto with plenty of green onions, miso soup with pork, and sukiyaki with beef. Thank you!

Classic grilled salmon (Saikyo style), beef sukiyaki, chilled tofu (warmed and added to pork miso soup), miso soup, natto (with extra green onions), rice. ^ ^ Completely satisfied with this meal.

Grilled mackerel, sukiyaki, pork miso soup, natto, chilled tofu (warmed up and added to the pork miso soup), white rice. Went to a restaurant with my aunt. They had grilled salmon marinated in miso sauce. It would have been nice if they also had grilled cod marinated in miso sauce! ^_^

2016.5.2 Update ↓ While browsing Facebook, I suddenly had a craving for light Chinese soba, so I went back to the Fushimi Shokudo restaurant. You can add as much green onions and seaweed as you want, so for ¥324 including tax, it's very cheap. It felt like eating ramen at a school cafeteria. It was delicious when eaten as if it were from a school cafeteria. Thank you (laughs). Initial Review ↓ I really wanted to eat "dashi maki" from the morning. Of course, I didn't have breakfast. Since my work area mainly covers Kyoto city, my options were: ① Buy one at Nishio, a dashi maki specialty store on the lower side of Senbon Marutacho, and get white rice somewhere? ② Buy a bento or one at Shihan, a dashi maki shop on the east side of Horikawa Marutacho? ③ Eat at a Maido Okini restaurant (usually with parking)? ④ Slip into one of Kyoto's four major teishokuya restaurants? I ended up visiting this place with a parking lot for the first time. I don't have time to eat at the neighboring Chinese restaurant "Daikomon" (I've eaten there before, but let's keep an eye on this new store). It's just before noon, but it's already about 40% full. I took a seat, ordered the dashi maki at the entrance, where you can choose green onions, minced red ginger, or whitebait as toppings. This time I chose minced red ginger. I also ordered "large rice & miso soup" and paid. The total was ¥506 (including tax). The dashi maki will be brought to your seat as soon as it's ready, and I was given a number tag. I sat at the counter seat, and the unlimited furikake was much appreciated. They use freshly polished rice every day, made with Koshihikari rice. After a while, they announced the number, and they brought it to my seat. The dashi maki is a bit small for the price. I took a bite as it is. The taste is the same as before. I poured soy sauce on it. The soy sauce was a bit diluted. I ended up pouring some sashimi soy sauce on it (laughs). The safe and stable taste is its charm. However, personally, I rate the cost performance quite low as before. The hygiene and customer service are flawless, making it a business that appeals to everyone. Personally, I wish the dashi maki and miso soup had a stronger dashi flavor. If the rice portion is this size, I wish they would use a higher grade of rice. Of course, ordering additional dishes will increase the price accordingly. Since my personal cost performance standard is low, I only go to "Maido Okini-style" restaurants once a year or not at all (laughs). But once a year, I eat and think "as expected." I guess I'm just someone who prefers individual restaurants. Thank you for the meal. I would like to visit a "Maido-style" restaurant somewhere next year. It's "just delicious" after all. Thank you for the meal.

I had a meal with a medium-sized bowl of rice, salt-grilled mackerel, salad, and rolled omelette. The mackerel was a bit cold but okay. The salad was pretty standard. The rolled omelette was delicious with a nice dashi flavor. The rice, despite being medium-sized, was close to a large size and very tasty. I used a free refill coupon from the flyer and left feeling full. They also had free furikake available, which I thought was considerate. If I had one wish, it would be for a tastier salt-grilled mackerel. The prices are reasonable, and I hope they can improve to a higher level. I would like to visit again.

Located in Daigo, along the Fushimi Outer Ring Road in Kyoto. It is situated on the same premises as Kura Sushi and Saizeriya, with a fairly large parking lot. I went there with a friend looking for a casual meal. Upon entering the restaurant, you prepare your own plate and chopsticks, and help yourself to the dishes you like. We tried the tonkatsu (288 yen), the restaurant's famous tamagoyaki (178 yen), a large portion of rice (137 yen), and miso soup (84 yen). While the prices were cheap, the food was not tasty at all. It's nice that they cut costs by having customers heat up the food in the microwave and pour their own tea, but if the food itself isn't delicious, it doesn't really matter.

I entered a self-service restaurant for the first time. I ordered the recommended tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) that I saw on the website. I was surprised to see that the tamagoyaki was made to order instead of being pre-made. I also got the recommended nikujaga (braised meat and potatoes) and croquettes. I also had miso soup. I was surprised when I tried the food. The tamagoyaki was incredibly fluffy and delicious. The nikujaga had a rich flavor and was delicious. The croquettes had a normal taste but were delicious. Next time I go, I plan to try the fish.

I used to frequent this place often because it's local, but I hadn't been in a while so I decided to go back recently. I started by ordering a tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette). The staff make it fresh after you order, so it comes out hot and fluffy inside. I like to have green onions in my tamagoyaki as it really changes the flavor, so I always ask for it. The restaurant has a wide variety of side dishes to choose from, so it's easy to get tempted by all the options. I enjoy this kind of self-service style restaurant once in a while.
