I had a very pleasant dining experience while looking out at the garden. It was nice to sit in the tatami room rather than the sunken kotatsu for a better view of the garden. Since it's summer, I had the oboro tofu, which had a firm texture and delicious flavor.

I came to Kyoto and decided to have dinner at a place with a traditional atmosphere, so I made a reservation in advance. I was guided to a tatami room where I took off my shoes and saw a lovely garden that suited the restaurant's name. I had pre-ordered the summer limited cold tofu dish through Tabelog, and it was a generous portion that left me quite full! The Kyoto tofu, made fresh early every morning, was delicious especially when paired with the fresh yuba. The place seemed to also function as a ryokan, as guests in yukatas were dining in the same hall. Their menu looked very appetizing as well.

In the midst of the scorching summer season with an outside temperature of 36 degrees, we arrived earlier than our reservation at the restaurant and asked if it was possible to wait inside. The staff kindly guided us to our table without any hesitation, and they seemed like angels to us! We had reserved the 3,500 yen Yuba course for two people, and we were overwhelmed by the flavors and atmosphere. The Yuba with anko topping in a bowl was incredibly delicious, and we had a blissful time enjoying Kyoto to the fullest.

The meticulously crafted dishes are almost too beautiful to eat, making it feel almost disrespectful to pick up the chopsticks. However, the fact that such high-quality dishes are available at a reasonable price is truly appreciated. Enjoying authentic Kyoto cuisine in a serene atmosphere while gazing at a beautiful garden truly allows you to immerse yourself in the essence of Kyoto. It's a great way to spend a sophisticated weekend for adults.

One of the tourist attractions in Kyoto, the Nanzen-ji area, is lined with many Yudofu (tofu hot pot) restaurants and is said to be the birthplace of Yudofu. Among the many shops, I made a reservation at "Ryotei Yachiyo," where you can enjoy seasonal Kyoto cuisine and Yudofu while overlooking the garden ❤︎ - Yudofu Ume no Zen (plum set) 3,000 yen - Kyoto Yuba Shabu-shabu Gozen 3,800 yen Just the Yudofu alone filled me up and I was so full I could barely move, haha. The Kyoto cuisine Yudofu enjoyed while looking at the garden was exceptional, and I was able to spend a relaxing time forgetting about time ☺︎ Thank you for the meal!

I stayed overnight and had the famous hot tofu dish for dinner, which was delicious as expected from a traditional Japanese restaurant. However, the service seemed a bit lacking, possibly due to understaffing. We were not offered a welcome drink, and with only two staff members serving, it was difficult to place additional drink orders during the meal. The employees were working hard, but having one more staff member would have been helpful.

A shop located relatively close to Nanzen-ji Temple's entrance. On the right side is a ryokan (Japanese inn), while meals are served at the restaurant on the left side. The seating with a view of the garden is in the back tatami room. In the front, there are tables and sunken kotatsu (heated tables), it's more comfortable here, but it's worth it to dine in the tatami room while enjoying the garden view. You can choose from three types of yudofu (hot tofu dish): pine, bamboo, or plum. I chose the pine with sashimi. The smooth tofu was delicious. It was around 2 pm, so the place was almost empty, allowing us to relax comfortably. Since it was not crowded, we were able to leave our car there and visit Nanzen-ji Temple after the meal. It was lucky to save on parking fees, and I was grateful for that. The prices were reasonable, there was parking available, so I think this yudofu shop near Nanzen-ji Temple is recommended. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto during the autumn leaves season, it is difficult to make lunch reservations. I was able to make a last-minute reservation 1.5 months in advance at a restaurant that specializes in yudofu (tofu hot pot) near Nanzen-ji Temple. The restaurant was fully booked with reservations, and it seems that those without reservations cannot enter. It can be quite challenging to find a place to eat during the autumn leaves season. I ordered the yudofu set, and the tofu was delicious. The yudofu in the photo is for three people.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. I will refrain from giving a rating and simply provide my thoughts for future reference. This is a traditional restaurant with a beautiful garden called Seiryu Teien, owned by Ogawa Jihei, also known as Ueji. The view from the restaurant was stunning. The establishment also includes a historic inn that has been operating since 1915, allowing guests to fully experience the essence of Kyoto. The garden is illuminated at night, creating a more enchanting atmosphere, especially during the upcoming seasons. The dishes served were delicious and seasonal, as shown in the menu and photos, showcasing the flavors of Kyoto. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Just sharing this for your information.

I enjoyed a Yudofu kaiseki meal on the veranda overlooking the garden. The tofu was delicious, and the beautiful garden view made the experience even better. When my friends visit Kyoto and mention Yudofu, I always recommend this place. The cost performance is also good for Kyoto.

I came all the way to Kyoto, so I decided to try out some Yudofu. I searched for a place and found this restaurant that seemed child-friendly. Upon entering, the staff didn't seem very friendly, maybe because they were busy, but there was a bit of a sense of intimidation. They took a while to come and take our order, which irritated my friend who was with me. My son loves sashimi, so we ordered the Yudofu set meal for 3900 yen, which included seasonal appetizers, vegetarian tempura, sashimi, fresh tofu, soup, rice, and pickles. Surprisingly, the food was served quite quickly. The seasonal appetizers were all sweet, with one even being a very sweet fig dish that seemed more like a dessert. The fresh tofu with a savory sauce was delicious. The Yudofu itself had a tasty broth, but the tofu was just average. The tempura consisted of various vegetables, but the batter was not very well done. The soup had noodles that were actually made of konjac. The sashimi was tasty, with tuna and striped jack. Even though I went for the Yudofu, the sashimi and fresh tofu were the highlights for me. Considering the price, the lack of good service, and the overall experience, I felt like I could have just bought some tofu from the supermarket and made Yudofu at home for a fraction of the cost. Unless someone really wants to go, I probably won't be returning. I should have just gone to Hafuu for a more reliable meal. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered Yudofu and Amatsuki Bento. Both were served with minimal waiting time. It was my first time trying Yudofu, and it was warm and delicious. The Amatsuki Bento had a variety of dishes, each one was well-prepared and very tasty. The staff at the restaurant were efficient and friendly. The presentation was elegant, truly reflecting the Kyoto style, and the taste was excellent.

I have been to Kyoto several times, but I had never tried Yudofu (tofu hot pot) before, so for this lunch, I decided to make a reservation through Tabelog and visited this restaurant. There are a few Yudofu restaurants near Nanzenji Temple, but I think this place offers the most reasonable set meal with Yuba (tofu skin) dishes. The garden here is truly beautiful. It is divided by glass, but the glass is so well polished that you can hardly see it. It really felt like dining outdoors. The tofu and dishes were delicious and safe choices. The piping hot Yudofu was perfect for winter. The Yuba was also tasty. Since I was staying at a hotel near Nanzenji Temple, it was a great opportunity to try Yudofu. Thank you for the meal.

After enjoying the autumn leaves at Nanzenji, I made a reservation for Yudofu (tofu hot pot) and visited this restaurant. It is located within a lodging facility, with a spacious restaurant area. Although I had hoped to enjoy the beautiful garden view while dining, our table was far from the garden. The closer tables seemed to be reserved for guests staying at the facility. It was a typical Kyoto experience! Despite this, the food was delicious.

It was the season of autumn leaves, so I made a reservation and entered the restaurant. I was seated right away without any wait. I was hoping for a seat by the garden side, but seating was not guaranteed so it was up to luck on the day. Although I didn't get a seat by the garden, I was able to see it from a distance. The food was delicious, especially the rice. The hot tofu also tasted great and warmed up my body.

On a Thursday holiday at 6 PM, I made a reservation for 2 people the day before. The restaurant was almost full, but half of the seats were left empty for COVID-19 measures. Acrylic boards were also installed, so the precautions were thorough. I ordered the Kyoto kaiseki bento "Ugetsu" special flower set for 4,600 yen. It came with a two-tiered assortment of side dishes and a hot tofu set. The infection control measures seemed strict. The atmosphere was excellent. The rice was decent. The hot tofu lacked punch but was enjoyable while experiencing the Kyoto ambiance. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having some solid Japanese food, so I went to this restaurant and reserved the monthly Kaiseki bento box for 3900 yen. The yuba (tofu skin) was delicious as they are known for it! The sashimi was also very tasty. Overall, it was a nice place to relax near Nanzen-ji temple. If it was around 3000 yen, I would have been satisfied, but I felt it was a bit pricey.

A charming Japanese restaurant near Nanzenji Temple. The scenery was beautiful, but unfortunately it was raining. The seats with a view were prioritized for staying guests. The cuisine mainly focused on tofu, typical of Kyoto. There were also tempura dishes, giving a traditional Japanese feel. The flavors were simple and rustic.

Yuba shabu was really delicious. It all comes out at once, but considering the cost performance, it's understandable. I thought it would be even better if the yuba bowl was served warm. The tempura was also crispy and delicious even when cold. The garden was lovely, and the restaurant had a nostalgic atmosphere.

I felt comfortable and ended up staying long after the meal. Just being in this space made me happy. I had a wonderful and luxurious time enjoying delicious food while looking out at the garden. The food was very delicious. The dishes were also satisfying. Perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Thank you very much.
