The restaurant was near my house. It was delicious, so I went there occasionally. The garlic butter rice and yakimeshi were incredibly satisfying. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again. I appreciate all the ingredients in this world. I'm calling for delicious food♪ The more you eat, the more power you get♪

After work, I went on a tour to discover okonomiyaki restaurants. By the way, the name of the restaurant has been changed for various reasons (according to the owner). Currently, they no longer serve oden as mentioned in other reviews. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays are a good deal. Draft Malt's beer is 290 yen (usually 380 yen) and Premium Malt's is 390 yen (usually 490 yen), so if you drink 10 beers, you can save 1000 yen! (Not a drinker? Well...) We ordered a mix of negiyaki and okonomiyaki for our flour dishes. We also ordered tamagoyaki and salad as appetizers. Keep the beers coming! Stop only when we say so! I love Malt's beer so I'm happy (not the Premium one). This place is an okonomiyaki restaurant, but the appetizers are delicious. Fluffy egg, garlic bacon salad. It's not cheap, but the portions are generous and satisfying. As for negiyaki and okonomiyaki, they're pretty good (tried combining flour dishes). I like okonomiyaki restaurants where the teppan grill is always clean. Thank you for the meal! I'll come back for beer!

I went to eat okonomiyaki for the first time in a while. Initially, I was seated at the table closest to the entrance, but the smoke from the adjacent table where people were smoking was overwhelming, so I asked the staff to move me to a different table. I ordered the specialty dish called "Fluffy Okonomiyaki (Mix)" for 892 yen. It is a handmade tofu-filled okonomiyaki that you dip in broth before eating. While waiting for the dish, a vegetable salad was served first with a generous amount of sesame dressing. It was a pretty standard salad. Then the fluffy okonomiyaki arrived with hot broth and plum paste on the side. It was slightly larger than a regular okonomiyaki. When I cut into it, chunks of tofu were visible. Dipping it in the broth, the tofu was soft and the taste reminded me of Akashiyaki. Adding plum paste gave it a nice touch of acidity. Along with tofu, there were squid, pork, fish cake, and fried tofu in the dish, which surprisingly tasted good. I found this type of okonomiyaki to be quite enjoyable. However, considering the ingredients and taste, the price seemed a bit high. I think it would be more reasonable around 700 yen. The mild flavor suited me well as I am not a fan of strong flavors.

After the rainy season started, the first Wednesday meeting was planned by Hinoki. The pre-meeting venue was a unique restaurant called "Do your best Okonomiyaki, don't lose Yakisoba." How about that? (laughs) Well, once you hear it, you won't forget it, so it might be a good business strategy. The main reason Hinoki chose this place was, of course, the cheap draft beer! It's only 294 yen, available from Monday to Thursday. They even have an English menu displayed, probably because Nijo Castle is nearby. The interior of the restaurant is bright and clean, surprisingly not oily despite being a teppanyaki place. Let's cheers with the first drink! We ordered, of course, draft beer! We also ordered the creamy cold tofu (399 yen) and tofu steak (609 yen) because the menu highly recommends tofu. The dishes are all made from tofu, including the fluffy okonomiyaki made with tofu. We chose the "mix" option, which is a specialty here. It is eaten with plum sauce and dashi, giving it a light and healthy taste. Let's finish this and head to the next spot for the second round! Okonomiyaki restaurant located in Horikawa Sanjo. Upon seeing the banner in front of the store, I immediately decided to enter as the prices seemed cheap! After all, a draft beer (Suntory Malts) was only 280 yen. The interior of the restaurant was bright and clean, unlike the typical image of a greasy teppanyaki restaurant. The dishes we ordered for two people were as follows: - Sujiyaki soba: Sujiko was more prominent than the meat, with a lot of konjac. - Ganbare Gyoza (5 pieces): Large gyoza served on the teppan. Could have been juicier. - Homemade spicy oil: You could tell it was homemade, but the texture was lacking. - Grilled celery: Also served on the teppan, nothing outstanding. - Modern yaki: Came out fluffy, but I prefer a crispier texture for the soba. - Draft beer x4, Highball x2 Overall, the total cost was less than 2,000 yen per person, so the cost-performance ratio was good. Despite everything, okonomiyaki with hot teppan and delicious sauce always goes well with drinks and fills you up. I found a convenient restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Located a little south of the entrance to the Sanjo shopping street along Horikawa Street, there is a lively-looking shop called "Ganbare Okonomiyaki." We had always said "Let's go there next time" whenever we passed by. This time, following our usual pattern, we found the original restaurant we planned to visit closed, so we decided to try this nearby shop instead. The seating is divided into separate tables. There were autographs of celebrities displayed near the entrance. We opted for the 1,550 yen course, where you can choose your favorite items from about 12-13 options in categories A to E. The number of dishes you can choose increases depending on the number of people dining, with 7 dishes for 3 people, 10 dishes for 4 people, and 12 dishes for 5 people. The extensive menu made it a bit difficult to decide what to order. We had the following dishes: Crunchy eringi mushrooms - large eringi mushrooms with a great texture. Large salad - piled high with cabbage and a homey taste of potato salad with thousand island dressing. Ganbare Gyoza - a specialty of the restaurant, hand-made from scratch with a generous filling. We ended up ordering more because they were so delicious. Butatama - a fluffy and moist okonomiyaki. There was also a tempting dish called "Fukafuka Yaki" with tofu that we forgot to order. Mixed yakisoba - the sauce was not too heavy and the dish was delicious, topped with a fried egg and tempura bits. The mini dessert of matcha ice cream was also tasty. The price was reasonable, and the course was quite a good deal. It seemed like many local families had made reservations as they kept coming in one after another, making the place quite busy. The restaurant is open until 4 AM, making it a good option for late-night dining. Overall, a great dining experience at Ganbare Okonomiyaki.

Late at night, my friend and I often visit this restaurant, and it has a really nice atmosphere. The food comes out quickly and the prices are reasonable. We always order the fried cartilage and gizzards, and the squid yakisoba is delicious! You can add toppings like oil flakes, which make it even better. Even if the noodles get crispy, they're still delicious! I highly recommend trying it. The set menus are great for students. I asked the staff to add red bean, ice cream, and matcha sauce to my mini pancakes, and it was even tastier than I imagined. The walls are decorated with many celebrity autographs, which was a surprise. I'll definitely be back when I get hungry late at night!

I used to go to a nearby okonomiyaki restaurant called "Ganbare Okonomiyaki" before. I often went there after work. Since it changed to "Yotsu Monogatari," the interior and menu seem unchanged. It seems like only the name has changed. But, since I always liked this okonomiyaki place, I had high hopes for the taste. The taste is still delicious as ever. This time, I ordered a teppanyaki dish with plenty of beef, pork, sausages, and more. It was a hearty and satisfying meal! It was perfect when paired with beer!

I always stop by a okonomiyaki restaurant on my way home from work, because it's cheap and delicious. I always order the okonomiyaki made with tofu, which is fluffy and tasty. They offer various set menus, which are convenient for group events like farewell parties or welcome parties with a limited budget. They also have tatami seating, so I recommend trying it out if you're unsure. It's always crowded, so I recommend making a reservation.

Visited around 9:00 PM on May 3, 2014. I decided to check out this restaurant within walking distance as I didn't feel like going far. The location is pretty much as the name suggests, on a street slightly down from the southwest corner of Horikawa Sanjo. The restaurant had tables with teppan (iron griddle) for about 4 people each. I was seated near the entrance so I couldn't see the whole place, but there were at least 7 other customers there, so there were probably more than 7 people in total. No customers came in after me. I ordered a draft beer for 390 yen and mixed yakisoba for 780 yen, totaling 1,260 yen. The yakisoba noodles were quite to my liking - thick and chewy. The main ingredients were beef, pork, and squid, with cabbage and bean sprouts for vegetables, and topped with red pickled ginger and fish flakes. The sauce was just right - not too sweet, bitter, or spicy, and paired well with the beer. Overall, I think it's a good place for casual teppanyaki or okonomiyaki. However, I was a bit disappointed that the "tofu," which was supposed to be their specialty, was sold out when I tried to order it. Next time, I would like to try the tofu and the fluffy yakisoba (an original menu with tofu inside okonomiyaki) that I couldn't have this time. (As of May 17, 2014: 9 reviews, rating 3.08)

I suddenly felt like eating okonomiyaki, so I searched online. Among several hits, I found this place with a coupon and it looked clean inside, so I decided to visit. It was almost full on the holiday night. My husband and I decided to go alcohol-free today. Also, we weren't very hungry. We ordered the mixed okonomiyaki for 780 yen and motsu soba for 680 yen, along with oolong tea. First, the motsu soba arrived. The sauce had a Japanese-style thick flavor, which I liked. It was juicy with konjac and motsu. Next, the mixed okonomiyaki. It had squid, pork, and beef with plenty of ingredients. The dough was delicious too! We topped it with mayonnaise, seaweed, bonito flakes, and spicy sauce. Delicious. It seems like they also have Premium Malt for 390 yen on weekdays, and the menu has a good variety. This place seems worth visiting again!

The story of okonomiyaki in the four cities. It is located at Horikawa Sanjo. The four cities are Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, and Hiroshima, where you can enjoy okonomiyaki from each region. While waiting near the entrance for a seat to be ready, I noticed many autographed color papers of actors and celebrities displayed. Some of them were over 20 years old. First, I tried Kyoto's fluffy okonomiyaki. It is an original dish of this restaurant with tofu inside. You can enjoy various flavors with light Japanese sauce, plum meat, and sweet and savory sauce. Next is the negiyaki with octopus, squid, and beef. Is this from Osaka? For the rice dish, I couldn't decide between garlic rice, grilled rice ball, or fried rice, but ended up choosing fried rice. It was a bit bland, so I added some sauce. The cost performance is good, and the taste is decent. It's a restaurant that can be visited regularly. I would like to come here about once a month. #Kyoto cuisine
