I entered and placed my order and paid at the counter. They gave me a receipt with a number written on it, and when my number was called, I picked up my order myself. This time, I ordered the following: - Iced latte (610 yen) - Affogato (700 yen) - Chocolate chunk cookie (320 yen) The affogato was recommended by the staff and it was delicious. I had heard that this cafe served great coffee, so I initially ordered a regular affogato, but they also had a Kyoto-style matcha affogato available. The cookie was moist and had a rich American-style taste. It was quite large and sweet, so it was perfect for sharing. The weather wasn't too hot that day, so I enjoyed a leisurely time on the terrace. This cafe is located in the Ace Hotel Kyoto, but it is open to non-guests as well.

This is a cafe on the first floor of the hotel. There are many foreigners here, so I guess they have English menus displayed prominently. I wanted to try a Kyoto-style drink, so I ordered a Matcha Latte for 750 yen. The Matcha Latte poured into the teacup was cute with a heart shape. I was afraid of spilling it as I carried the teacup to my seat. I enjoyed it at the outdoor table. The amount wasn't much, so I finished it quickly.

Visited the popular café "Stumptown Coffee Roasters" at Shinpu-kan. It is a renowned café representing America's third wave coffee trend, known for hand-drip and light roasts. The most famous one being "Blue Bottle Coffee." I chose the ○Peru (¥600) and Pound Cake (¥600). I'm not a big fan of light roasts, so I opted for Peru which is said to have the most sweetness. It had a well-balanced bitterness and acidity, making it easy to drink. The pound cake was moist with a gentle sweetness of banana standing out. The chunks of nuts and other ingredients added a nice touch. However, the cramped presentation felt very American café-like. It was delicious. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Shinpu-kan.

Café latte and cappuccino. *The Baumkuchen is from a shop in Meguro, Tokyo. Sorry. I went around 11 am before lunch, but there was a line of foreign guests staying at the hotel. About 5 groups were waiting in line. I like coffee shops that don't have pre-made drinks and make your order on the spot! The attention to detail gives it a nice Kyoto-style feel!

It is the first branch in Japan of the third wave coffee shop from Seattle, USA. The shop has only counter seats and offers a simple menu of basic coffee and a few baked goods. There are also outdoor tables and sofa seats where you can relax and enjoy your coffee. The Cappuccino (¥580) had a less milky taste compared to Starbucks, allowing you to fully savor the flavor of the beans. The inner courtyard of Shinpuhkan is also a soothing spot filled with nature.

The cookie is a hazelnut cookie with a unique Kyoto touch of black shichimi spice on the outside, crispy with a thick texture and moist inside. You can enjoy it in the lobby with a nice atmosphere at Ace Hotel, which came from America. I thought it would be great if they offered the option to switch to oat milk for free like Starbucks, it would be more in line with the times!

I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in my room at the Ace Hotel with bread bought from a nearby bakery and tasty coffee and latte for takeout. It was a luxurious experience, although not so easy with kids. The ice container was so stylish too! It was delicious!

When you drink alcohol in the streets of Kyoto, even if you live in Kyoto, you end up staying in a hotel. So, I decided to have coffee on the first floor as a little check. There aren't many single rooms in hotels, and they are expensive, but I wanted to stay for a bit at Ace Hotel. The café on the first floor is an open space where many people are working on their laptops. I will read a book while drinking coffee. I bought coffee first and walked carefully to avoid spilling it. I drank plenty of coffee while looking at the wall made with works from Shoubu Gakuen. I will take a little time to look around the shops on the way back. It was made by a well-built bald Caucasian woman. The Takayama at Sanjo Itamiya is said to have made a comeback after 198 years.
