While exploring Nishiki Market, I decided to try out some food from this restaurant in Kyoto. There were many tourists, including foreigners, on the street. You order by purchasing a ticket from the machine and handing it to the staff. After a short wait, I was served hot and fluffy takoyaki. It was absolutely delicious, a must-try when you visit. It cost 280 yen for 6 pieces. Thank you for the meal!

I visited to create a ranking of the top 10 takoyaki restaurants in Kyoto Prefecture. Thank you for your cooperation. Jumbo Takoyaki, 6 pieces for 260 yen. If you are a member, it's 200 yen! However, it seems that the price has increased by about 20 yen from September 1st. Located in the Nishiki Market with a history of 400 years. We enjoyed it at the counter alongside foreign tourists in a store that can accommodate up to six people. As the name suggests, it's crispy and delicious! A round of applause for the taste that exceeds the price! For more details, please watch the video. Closed on Thursdays from 10:00 to 20:00. You can check out other top takoyaki restaurants in Kyoto Prefecture, including the unique takoyaki that Kyoto people love and the special ingredients they put in takoyaki. Nishiki Market is so crowded with foreign tourists that it seems like there are only foreigners here. Every standing-eating shop is thriving. The eat-in space here is extremely narrow. The takoyaki is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's a bit disappointing that they skimp on the sauce, but it's nice that mayonnaise is free. It was delicious!

Good evening. I am beautician acupuncturist Kozue. I visited Nishiki Market Street in Kyoto for the first time in years. I found a takoyaki shop called Crispy Doctor that I had used before, and feeling nostalgic, I decided to buy some takoyaki. This time, I purchased 6 pieces of cheese takoyaki for 350 yen. They are takoyaki that have been finished with melty cheese poured over them, warmed up, mixed, and then topped with sauce. Each takoyaki is large, with a soft surface and a gooey inside. Despite the name Crispy Doctor, they are not crispy at all, but rather gooey compared to regular takoyaki. However, as gooey takoyaki, they are big, cheap, and delicious. I also like crispy takoyaki, but I think these gooey takoyaki are also very tasty. I would like to visit again when I come to Kyoto. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There was a time when there was no octopus in the dish, but it was still quite delicious. The service was not very friendly, but it seems to be popular among local students, so it must be loved by some. Nishiki Market has changed a lot, with some old shops still there, but also new questionable ones that don't seem to be run by Japanese owners. I don't think I'll go back there again. Even the seafood options seemed overpriced and felt like a rip-off. In the midst of all that, I hope that shops like Crispy Doctor can thrive.

Hello. I'm Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce a takoyaki shop called "Karikari Hakase" in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. I visited this shop while walking and eating in Nishiki Market in Kyoto. I had something sweet like Snoopy's taiyaki, so I wanted something salty, and decided to visit this takoyaki shop. What's amazing about this takoyaki shop is the incredibly low prices. You can get 6 takoyaki for only 280 yen, which is surprisingly cheap. And there's a membership price, where members can get them for 180 yen. By the way, you can become a member by paying a membership fee of 200 yen, and if you're someone who comes here often to eat takoyaki, becoming a member would definitely be worth it. The shop is quite crowded, probably because it's so cheap. Since you can't eat while walking in Nishiki Market, people have to eat in front of the shop they bought from, leading to a chaotic situation with "buyers" and "eaters" crowded together in the small shop. The ordering process involves buying a food ticket and handing it to the staff, then waiting nearby until they call your name to pick up your order. The staff surprisingly remember the order of customers, so you don't have to worry about lining up neatly. [FOOD] - Jumbo Takoyaki (280 yen): Despite the low price, the takoyaki are reasonably large and filled with octopus. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, which is my favorite type of takoyaki. They put the sauce on just right, and you can also get a small packet of mayonnaise to use according to your preference. [Summary] Despite the crowded environment, it's difficult to eat peacefully, but with this price, size, and taste, you will definitely be satisfied. When you're walking and eating in Nishiki Market, be sure to consider this place as a candidate. Thank you for the meal. [Point] Customer base: ■ 1 male ■ male group ■ 1 female ■ female group ■ students ■ families ■ elderly ■ couples Age: ■ 10-20s ■ 30-50s ■ 60s and above Remarks: Private room, scenery, power supply, WiFi Lining up, reservation recommended Near the station, Instagrammable Quiet, suitable for long stays, fun, hidden gem *Please note that the information is based on the time of visit.

Crispy Doctor Nishiki Market Store in Kyoto is located about a 3-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station and about an 8-minute walk from Kyoto Subway Shijo Station. It is a reasonably priced takoyaki restaurant in the Nishiki Market shopping street in Kyoto. They offer takoyaki made with carefully selected ingredients and sauce under their private brand. I chose their signature menu, Jumbo Takoyaki, which is 6 pieces for 180 yen (member price). The hot and fluffy takoyaki was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Enjoyable food tour at Nishiki Market. Discovered a crowded shop with a unique name, "Crispy Doctor". It's a different kind of takoyaki, apparently in Kyoto style. Priced at 230 yen. Shall we try it? It comes with a small packet of mayonnaise. Of course, we'll drizzle it on. Let's eat... The skin is thick. Difficult to bite through as expected. Not easy to eat! Finally managed to bite into it, and the filling pops out... Ouch!... Can't break it in half with chopsticks to cool it down, but the skin is too thick to split. By the way, it's not crispy at all. It was an interesting takoyaki, but in terms of taste, it's just okay. The introduction at Nishiki Market claims it's "takoyaki that lives up to its name, crispy", but there is zero crispiness. The website also mentions "crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside", but while it may be gooey, it's definitely not crispy. Is this how it's supposed to be, or is there an issue with the way this shop cooks it? Upon further research, it seems to be a chain with branches in Kyoto, Shiga, Nara, Mie, Hyogo, Aichi, etc. This branch is quite pricey. There are shops where it's priced at 150 yen. It might be a bit of a waste to enjoy Nishiki Market, filled with famous eateries, with this kind of takoyaki.

It's super cheap and super delicious. I bought it on a whim just to have a light snack of takoyaki, but it was beyond my imagination how tasty it was. It was soft and gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside, just the way I like it. I think this place is becoming popular, but I can see more stores opening up soon!

I tried eating takoyaki among the locals at Nishiki Market, a famous spot in Kyoto. As part of my trip to Nara and Kyoto, on the first day of sightseeing in Kyoto, I took a break from exploring and decided to check out Nishiki Market on the way back to my hotel. I stumbled upon a crowd and remembered seeing this Kyoto soul food somewhere before, so I decided to try it. I ordered takoyaki for ¥230, which came with 6 pieces. It was quite cheap! Although it wasn't the most delicious takoyaki I've ever had, considering the price, it was more than satisfactory. The surface was slightly crispy, while the inside was soft and gooey. The sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, which might be a hit or miss for some people. If I lived in Kyoto, I would probably come back to buy this takoyaki often. Thank you for the meal.

Dr. Crispy is located along the main street of Nishiki Market. I bought their crispy-looking takoyaki because I like it crispy. First thing that caught my eye was the surprisingly low price! So, I was surprised. Now, for the taste test... Hmm? It's chewy... I tried again. Hmm? It's chewy... It seems that this place is the complete opposite of crispy, the takoyaki is chewy by nature. I was quite shocked. The taste is good, but I wish they would change it to Crispy Doctor instead of Chewy Doctor.笑

I remembered coming here a while ago and decided to stop by again! I ordered 6 pieces of takoyaki for 230 yen, and as expected, this place is still super popular. Once you see someone enjoying their takoyaki, you can't help but want some too. The name is "Crispy," but the texture is actually more on the moist side. It's juicy and gooey, giving you a satisfying sensation when you bite into it. Despite the simple appearance, the value for money and the filling nature of the takoyaki are impressive, surpassing the usual criteria of deliciousness. It might just be the best snack at Nishiki Market. Thank you for the meal!

You can enjoy cheap takoyaki at Nishikido. Right now, eating while walking is not allowed, so you have to stand near the entrance to eat. They sell them in vending machines and it's a one-person operation, but the lady there will answer your questions. I couldn't taste or feel the octopus in it, but it seems to be inside. Since it's freshly baked, be careful as it's very hot.

At Nishiki Market, I ordered a "Janbota Takoyaki" for 200 yen. I expected a crispy takoyaki based on the name "Crispy Doctor," but I was completely surprised by its soft and gooey texture, more like a warabi mochi or monjayaki. This must be the Kyoto style. Personally, I prefer the standard takoyaki. It may appeal to those who like a gooey texture. Eating on the go is not allowed, so you have to stand in front of the shop to eat, which can get crowded. As someone with a sensitive tongue, having to eat it quickly while it's still hot was a challenge. In terms of cost performance, this takoyaki is very good compared to other nearby shops.

A cheap and decently tasty takoyaki shop. Located in Nishiki Market, it used to be crowded with tourists making it hard to buy (meaning the crowds were intense). But now, due to the pandemic, I was able to buy quickly. The shop is called "Crispy Doctor" but the takoyaki is not crispy at all. It's soft both on the outside and inside. But it's still delicious. There are very small pieces of octopus inside. 6 for 200 yen (150 yen for members) is a great deal! The taste is not bad and you can eat takoyaki cheaply, so I think it's good. It's hard to find a place to eat in Nishiki Market. Before, the area in front of the shop was crowded, so I went to a park to eat, but this time I was able to eat in front of the shop. Thank you for the meal.

Before going to Nishiki Market, we made an unexpected stop at two places and ended up feeling quite full. But as we walk, we will surely get hungry again. Now, let's explore Nishiki Market. It was a Sunday, and the place was packed with people thanks to the Go To Travel campaign. It was even more crowded than the last time I visited. As we slowly made our way through the market, we finally arrived at a shop I had been curious about before, "Crispy Doctor Nishiki Market Store." My friend Y was chatting with a staff member at the neighboring senbei shop, so I decided to buy something to eat while waiting. There were 5 menu items, but the "Jumbo Takoyaki" was priced at a reasonable 200 yen. It seemed like you had to purchase a ticket from a vending machine, so I inserted the money, pressed the button for "Jumbo Takoyaki," and handed the ticket to the staff. In just a few seconds, I received the takoyaki with mayonnaise on top. It was a set of 6 large takoyaki balls, and each one looked quite filling. I drizzled some mayonnaise on top and tasted the piping hot takoyaki. To my surprise, it had a soft texture. I was expecting a crispy takoyaki because of the shop's name, "Crispy Doctor," but there was no crispiness at all. The outside was soft, and the inside was even softer, melting in my mouth with a gentle dashi flavor. I was a bit disappointed as I usually prefer crispy takoyaki, but the taste was still quite good.

I love it so much! The food is not crispy at all, but rather creamy and delicious. It's very reasonably priced. If this restaurant were near me, I might end up going there all the time, which is a bit scary. Whenever I used to go, there were always many people from a certain country, and I was always surprised to see the staff asking customers if they wanted to eat there in both Japanese and another language without even looking at them. But this time, I didn't see that. There were only Japanese people. The taste was just as good as always.

I visited Kyoto on a weekend in November. I visited Bishamon-do, Jisso-in, and Enko-ji, and was captivated by the beautiful autumn leaves. Feeling a bit hungry from walking around, I decided to stroll through Nishiki Market. The market was bustling with people of all ages. I found a popular shop with a sign that read "Kyoto-style takoyaki." I bought tickets for "Jumbo takoyaki" for 200 yen, "Negi-bukkake takoyaki" for 280 yen, and a can of beer for 220 yen. The takoyaki was freshly made and surprisingly large for the price. The aroma of the sauce and seaweed toppings made me even hungrier. The takoyaki had a crispy exterior and a creamy interior with a rich broth flavor. The large pieces of octopus added depth to the flavor. The Negi-bukkake takoyaki was generously topped with chopped green onions, giving it a slightly spicy and refreshing taste that paired well with the mayonnaise. I enjoyed the delicious snack with a can of beer. After satisfying my hunger, I continued exploring the market.

During my trip to Kyoto in October 2020, I visited Dotonbori after eating Yatsuhashi in Shinkyogoku. I hesitated at first because takoyaki seemed to be high in carbs, but I was lured by the cheap price and decided to buy some. The taste was average, but I thought it was delicious for the price.

In Nishiki Market, there is a takoyaki shop that is always crowded. The secret to its popularity is the deliciousness and affordability - 6 pieces for 220 yen! The takoyaki has a chewy and fluffy texture, with sauce, cheese, and mayonnaise that go really well together. Each takoyaki is about 1.5 times the size of a regular one, so it's very satisfying to eat. It's a great place for those who love large portions. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!
