I dropped by for lunch. The parking lot is quite spacious, similar to a supermarket. I had the mountain-style udon this time, while my companion had the tempura soba. The udon had a nice chewy texture and the broth was delicious, with a slightly sweet taste. The tempura soba was also tasty, with a warm broth and a good flavor. Both the udon and soba were delicious, so I would like to try a different menu next time.

On the way back from a drive in northern Kyoto, I decided to visit a curry udon restaurant that my father remembered from long ago, located around the Nodagawa area. The restaurant was said to be in the middle of a field back then, but now there are business supermarkets and spacious parking spaces. Inside the restaurant, there were 9 counter seats, 2 four-person table seats, and 3 table seats in the tatami area, despite the small space. I arrived around 1:30 pm on a weekday, with only 2 other customers. The menu had a variety of udon dishes typical of a udon restaurant, but I ordered the curry udon for 650 yen (excluding tax). The soup had a strong Japanese broth flavor, with a thick curry sauce and plenty of thinly sliced pork and green onions. The curry udon had a spicy seasoning, which I enjoyed. The udon noodles were handmade, soft and easy on the stomach, but tended to break easily when lifted, causing the curry broth to splash. As I ate, the viscosity of the curry sauce improved, making it easier to drink. Considering the local prices, the curry udon at 650 yen had great value for money. Just as my father remembered, it was a delicious curry udon. Thank you for the meal.

The image is of Tenzaru Soba (large serving). The soba here seems to be carrying on the tradition of Izushi soba, with a texture similar to plate soba. They also have plate soba on the menu. The addition of an egg is also reminiscent of Izushi. It had a simple taste. Thank you for the meal~♪

I went shopping at the shopping center and then stopped by for lunch. I ordered cold soba noodles, and they asked if I wanted it cold or hot. I chose cold soba noodles. Inside the restaurant, they were making the soba noodles by hand. The noodles were smooth and had a good texture. The slightly sweet broth was delicious, especially with the grated mountain yam and egg. They also offered takeout, so I bought some for my family. I followed their instructions and boiled it at home. It was still delicious. They also had udon noodles, so I want to try that next time.
