Today I had the "Salt-Grilled Mackerel and Fried Chicken Set Meal" at "Furari-an". They also have a "Salt-Grilled Mackerel Set Meal", but I chose this one because it comes with a piece of fried chicken (although you can add an extra piece of fried chicken to the mackerel set meal for the same price). The mackerel was delicious with its fatty texture, and the fried chicken was big, tender, and tasty on its own or dipped in the daikon radish grated with the mackerel. The rice, which they take pride in, was also very delicious. The miso soup had a lighter miso flavor but a rich dashi broth, giving it a unique and delicious taste. It was my first time visiting in the evening, and I noticed that there were fewer customers compared to during the day, which was a bit concerning. It's one of my favorite restaurants, so I hope it continues to thrive.

I visited at night. The machine for grilling fish seemed to be broken, so there were no grilled fish available. I ended up having chicken with black vinegar sauce instead. It came with rice, miso soup, and side dishes, with plenty of vegetables. The taste was decent and the price was around 1000 yen, which is very reasonable! The rice was deliciously cooked as well. Overall, it was quite good.

Recently, I don't drink when I drive, so having a set meal is really appreciated. Rice with side dishes, and miso soup make me feel full and healthy (*´ч`*) I visited a restaurant that caught my eye when I went to Jonangu Shrine. I stopped by for dinner on my way back from Shiga Prefecture. There are various set meals to choose from, and it's hard to decide. The limited 10-dish set was sold out (reservation for hold is available). I heard that the fried chicken is big, so I had the mixed fry set meal for 1,089 yen (tax included) (*´ч`*) It came with a large shrimp fry, horse mackerel fry, and two large pieces of fried chicken, very satisfying in volume♪♪ I enjoyed the fries with pickled tartar sauce. The salad and tofu side dish were also delicious♡ I was planning to have seconds of the free rice and miso soup, but I was already full. The service was great, with a refreshing smile from the friendly staff. I'm interested in their bento boxes, perfect for cherry blossom viewing✧︎ I'll definitely visit again (*ˊᗜˋ*) ノ Thank you for the meal♪♪

Located on the northbound side of Minami Inter, near the opposite side of Jonangu Shrine. I had been curious about this restaurant since it opened, but I had avoided visiting because it seemed geared towards tourists. Orders are placed using a touch panel, and there was a menu placed for reference. While the menu wasn't extensive, it was easy to navigate due to the limited options. My husband ordered the braised pork set, while I had the deep-fried tofu and seasonal vegetable set. Rice and miso soup were refillable. Although the portions were not large, the taste was excellent. The dishes were well-prepared, with a rich flavor that complemented the rice. I was pleased that the meals ranged from 1000 to 2000 yen. Since it's a convenient location, I would like to consider it as an option for lunch or dinner. Thank you for the meal.

Located near the Kyoto Minami Interchange, this restaurant opened about 1-2 years ago and is very clean and well-maintained. It's a great place for a casual meal or a small get-together. On this day, I ordered the popular Mixed Fry Set for ¥1089 (tax included) with a drink bar set for ¥154 (tax included). The portion size was generous and the value for the price was really good. The fried items were crispy and delicious, including shrimp, horse mackerel, and fried chicken. I was thrilled to see all my favorite items on the plate. It was a very good restaurant, and I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal! ✩.*˚

The restaurant is located right after getting off at the Kyoto Minami Interchange and heading towards Osaka. They offer various set meals, making it perfect for lunch. The rice and miso soup are refillable. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and most importantly, the side dishes are delicious and plentiful, making the meal very enjoyable. I often use this restaurant when I'm nearby. It's always a pleasure when they update their menu with new items.

Today, I went to "Furari-an" for lunch with a customer. I was torn between ordering the chicken tempura and the "Mountain of Fried Chicken" set meal, and ended up choosing the latter. I thought it would be just regular fried chicken, so I ordered 6 pieces, but when the dish arrived, I was surprised to see that each piece was huge. It was at least 1.5 times bigger than usual fried chicken! The fried chicken itself was tender, not too heavily seasoned, and delicious, but there was just too much of it. Next time, I'll stick to ordering 4 pieces of fried chicken.

Today's lunch was at "Kamado Meshi Furari-an" near the South Interchange of Route 1. This is my second visit to this restaurant, and the location is amazing. Despite being along a suburban highway, it is surrounded by popular restaurants like "Oseki Mochi" two doors down, and "Kamo LOBO" and "Kyoto Rikyu ODASHI×DASHIMAKI" across the street. Lately, I have been having a lot of Western food and fried dishes, so today I planned to have salted mackerel, but I couldn't resist the temptation of salmon rare cutlet when I saw it on the menu, so I ordered the "Oyster Fry & Shrimp Fry & Salmon Rare Cutlet Set Meal." You can choose sixteen-grain rice for an additional 165 yen instead of regular white rice. The white rice uses "Yashirobei" rice. The miso soup is a little light but has a strong dashi flavor and is delicious. The salad is beautifully arranged with colorful vegetables. The tofu in the side dish had a rich soybean flavor. The three types of fried dishes as the main course come with grated daikon radish for the oyster fry and salmon rare cutlet, and shiba-zuke tartar sauce for the shrimp fry. Both the shrimp fry and oyster fry were large and satisfying, especially the oyster fry, which was the largest I've had this year (eaten with shiba-zuke tartar sauce instead of grated daikon radish). The salmon rare cutlet was surprisingly light and tasty, with a good match with the grated daikon radish. With a wide variety of menu options, this is a restaurant I would like to visit regularly.

The food at this Japanese restaurant is well-prepared, and what's great is that they offer unlimited refills of rice and miso soup, which is perfect for big eaters like me! The fried horse mackerel is large in size and crispy, and the tartar sauce is flavored with shiso leaves, showing attention to detail in every dish. For those who love fried chicken, they also have a "Fried Chicken Mountain Set Meal" available, and they offer bento boxes for takeout as well, making it a great choice for everyday meals. Thank you for the delicious meal! #GratefulforLife

Probably, the site of the Maedo Ookini dining hall. It's a new restaurant that opened across from Jonangu Shrine, near the first line. Is it a chain restaurant? I don't recognize the name, so I was excited to try it out. Of course, since it just opened, it's clean and nice. The Kama-meshi, made with Yaeemon's rice, comes with free refills of miso soup, which is great. The Ebi Fry and Ebi Katsu come with Shibazuke and tartar sauce. The Toriten is soaked in tempura dipping sauce and is made with tender chicken, offering a generous portion. The Tori Karaage Mountain set comes with four large pieces of karaage. You can upgrade to 16-grain rice for an additional charge. The Chicken Nanban set features crispy batter and comes with Shibazuke tartar sauce. It's great to be able to enjoy a hearty set meal at a reasonable price.

Located two to three shops down from "Ramen Yokozuna Minami Inter Store," this building seems to cost quite a bit of money. The interior has a somewhat cafe-like atmosphere, with some people working on their laptops. I even noticed some blankets around. Despite the somewhat high prices, I ordered the Chicken Karaage Mountain set meal (with four pieces resembling Mount Fuji). Drinks are self-service. The meal includes rice, pickles, miso soup, and a small white dish with something I couldn't identify. The rice, cooked in a traditional stove, is advertised as a specialty, but it seemed quite ordinary. The karaage, four pieces each weighing close to 60 grams, were large but the "Mount Fuji" and "Mountain" descriptions seemed exaggerated. The crispy coating had a hint of garlic flavor, and although not too bland, the taste wasn't memorable. The miso soup had a strong kelp flavor, and the white item turned out to be tofu. It was creamy and delicious. Surprisingly, you can have unlimited rice and miso soup refills. You can also order additional toppings or condiments for free, although the tablet for ordering doesn't make it very obvious. I had seconds and added some salt and pepper topping for flavor, finishing the meal. Overall, the experience left an impression of being impersonal.

When I went on a car trip to Kyoto, I researched and visited a diner right off the Kyoto Minami Interchange that seemed like a place where the driver's family would get excited. The parking lot was spacious and easy to park, making it convenient even for first-time visitors. I ordered the Chicken Nanban and Karaage set meal. You can get unlimited rice and miso soup. Depending on the number of pieces, the Karaage is named Fuji, Mont Blanc, or Everest. They use limited rice from a local farm in Kyoto, which was glossy and delicious. The Karaage and Nanban were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Each had its own deliciousness. It's nice to share and eat together, especially the Nanban with sweet vinegar and tartar sauce on top that really increases your appetite. Ordering is done through a common touch panel system, similar to ordering at a yakiniku or sushi restaurant. There were various types of set meals available, making it easy to come in for a casual meal.

Beautiful and delicious! It seems like the rice was supervised by the 8th generation Gihei. The Chicken Nanban, which was quite ordinary, came with unlimited tartar sauce! The sauce had lots of chunks of ingredients and was delicious! The unlimited rice and miso soup were amazing, and having a drink bar was a nice touch. The unnecessary tablet device was there as usual.

Last week, I discovered this restaurant so I visited it right away. I forgot to take a picture of the pork steak. It's a shame. Rice is free for seconds. It's nice that you can order mayonnaise and other things with a tablet.

This time, I visited "Kamado Meshi Furari-an" in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City. The location is near the Meishin Kyoto Minami Interchange along Route 1. On the opposite side of the road is Jonangu Shrine. It's a new restaurant! I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal for 1,080 yen. After it was served, the staff came to add tartar sauce, which they kept pouring until I told them to stop. The tartar sauce was piled high, making it very delicious. By the way, you can have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup! Various credit cards and electronic money are accepted. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about this place since it opened, but I couldn't go until now. Finally, I went there. It took me a while to understand the menu, but eventually the staff came to help and I was able to order. I chose eggplant miso stir-fry and added an extra order of 2 pieces of fried chicken. Rice and miso soup are refillable. The eggplant miso stir-fry had a slight pork smell. I didn't like the grilled fish, but I thought the fried chicken was delicious. It was crispy and tasty. I give the fried chicken a 3.5 rating. Thank you for the meal!

I went for lunch. I had high expectations based on the appearance of the restaurant, but the pork in the Saikyo-yaki was fatty and tough to eat. I ordered the hojicha pudding for dessert, but after finishing my meal, I had to call for the server to bring it to me. They didn't notice that I had finished eating and were chatting among themselves. Even after calling them twice, they still didn't bring me the dessert promptly. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I will not be returning to this restaurant.

The restaurant I was planning to go to was closed for the day, and the next one I tried was closed for their regular holiday. So, I ended up coming to this place by chance. It looks like a diner. The interior is bright and very clean. I ordered the chicken nanban set meal, and my companion ordered the grilled fish set meal. The tartar sauce seems to be all-you-can-eat, as the staff will stop you when they serve it until you say so. I had no information about this place before entering, but I wonder if the fried chicken set meal and chicken nanban set meal are popular here. Lots of fried chicken keeps coming out to other tables (laughs) Looks delicious... The chicken nanban was also very tasty. I don't visit this area often, but I would like to come back again next time to try the fried chicken. Thank you for the meal.

I didn't know that there was a restaurant like this for weekend lunch. It's nice that they offer free rice and miso soup refills, but I'm not sure if I would come back. It feels like it lacks a sense of hospitality... (One rice refill) I'm full now. Thank you.

Today's lunch was at "Kamado Meshi Furari-an", a Japanese restaurant located along Route 1, just south of Kyoto Minami Interchange and across from Jonangu Shrine. The restaurant is housed in a grand building with a spacious parking lot. The interior is also spacious, resembling a family restaurant, with sofa seats by the window. Orders are placed using a tablet. Their specialty seems to be fried chicken, and they also offer a unique dish of salmon cutlet. They have a variety of grilled fish options as well. They offer a selection of set meals, and I chose the "Choose Two Silver Rice Set Meal (Mackerel with dried bonito flakes + Salmon with miso glaze)" priced at 1628 yen. The meal that arrived was a hearty grilled fish set. A second dish had to be added as it couldn't fit on the tray. The rice was cooked in a kamado pot, with each grain standing out. The rice is said to be from Yatsushiro Gihei. The side dishes, neatly lined up, seem to be common for all set meals. Even the tofu has shrimp on top. The mackerel is thick and flavorful, while the salmon with miso glaze is delicious. It's a casual place to enjoy Japanese cuisine.
