Located a 12-minute walk from Keihan Demachiyanagi Station, this restaurant does not have a parking lot. It is situated just past Demachi Futaba, on the outskirts of Demachi shopping street. Known for its delicious oyakodon, we decided to pay a visit. The exterior has a charming appeal. Upon entering, we noticed that the locals frequent this place, giving off a vibe of being beloved by the community. The interior has a sophisticated feel. However, ordering is done through a tablet system, which is quite modern. We ordered the following: - Oyakodon for 980 yen including tax - Duck Nanba soba for 1000 yen including tax First, we tried the oyakodon. It was topped with plenty of tender chicken and fluffy eggs. Although it looked rich, it was surprisingly light in flavor. While it tasted good, it didn't quite meet our high expectations. The Duck Nanba soba had flavorful duck meat in generous portions. The overall portion size was satisfying. However, the soba noodles were a bit soft and not particularly outstanding. Overall, the experience was decent.

Near Demachiyanagi, I decided to have lunch and with the scorching heat and humidity, I felt like eating something light and cold, so I chose to have zaru soba at Tsukuya. - Duck Zaru Soba (1000 yen): As others have mentioned, the portion size is quite generous, similar to a large serving at other restaurants. However, it is not too much for an average man. The soba itself is similar to soba at other typical soba restaurants and doesn't have any distinctive features. The duck broth is present, but not overly rich. The duck meat is lean and quite thick, packed with flavor. Perhaps the lack of fat prevented the broth from being more flavorful. Overall, the price is reasonable. - Mixed Rice (300 yen): A simple mixed rice that serves as a side dish to the soba. It was about 3/4 of a regular rice bowl. The cost performance may not be the best. The soba has a mild flavor, making it suitable for people of all ages and genders. The prices are not high, making it a satisfying choice. Finding a suitable lunch spot around Demachi can be challenging, so in that sense, I think it's a good restaurant.

From the outside, the interior cannot be seen and there is no menu displayed, so at first glance, it may seem intimidating. However, there was a line forming in front of the shop, so I decided to enter without researching. I ordered the duck soba in a regular size, but it was actually a large portion with plenty of volume. The taste was satisfying for this price. The only downside was the water. It seemed like tap water. Since it's a soba restaurant, I wish they had paid more attention to the water quality. It was a thriving restaurant loved by locals.

Sometimes when I go back to Kyoto, it depends on the occasion. This time, I really wanted to eat "ten-toji don" so I went there! The menu only had "ten-toji udon? soba?" but I asked the staff to make it into a "ten-toji don" for me! First of all, the big and plump shrimp tempura is too luxurious with three pieces. The seasoning of the scrambled egg is just right and the flavor makes the rice go down smoothly. It was so delicious that my cheeks almost fell off (lol).

I had delicious soba at Tsuya-ya right after leaving the Masugata De-machi shopping street. Despite its unassuming appearance, this shop is surprisingly high-tech, with Pepper-kun handling the waiting list and touch panels for ordering. It was my first time using a touch panel at a soba restaurant! The soba had a perfect balance of flavor and firmness, just the way I like it. The tempura wasn't light and crispy, but rather had a soft and chewy coating. It was also very tasty!

I ordered the "extra-large" portion of Tenzaru soba, but I regret it because the portion was unexpectedly huge. Next time, I will definitely go for the regular size! The soba itself was very delicious. The Tenzaru came with 2 shrimp, 2 shiso leaves, and 2 sheets of seaweed, which was satisfying.

When you enter the restaurant, Pepper greets you and helps you with the seating order. We were seated quickly and ordered our food through a tablet. The soba noodles were delicious and generously portioned, made from high-quality soba. The tempura included shrimp, shiso leaf, and seaweed, but it was a bit greasy and not the best. Overall, the meal was enjoyable.

A soba restaurant that exudes a nostalgic and sophisticated atmosphere, making the food taste delicious. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the tempura soba I had. The soba bowls they use are old-fashioned, which adds to the charm over time. It has a simple and beautiful impression. Tempura soba seemed to be the most popular on the day I visited, but there are other items that caught my eye, so I plan to visit again several times. I prefer soba with a slightly ticklish texture and good chewiness as it goes down my throat. In the summer, the air conditioning is quite strong, so women may want to bring a light jacket. If you choose cold soba because it's hot outside, your body may cool down significantly.

I might be coming home late, so I decided to head to a nearby soba restaurant by myself before it gets too late. I wanted to have both a rice bowl and soba, but it was too much, so I chose the duck soba. The portion was generous, and even though I was full, it didn't seem to decrease. The place was just a regular soba shop in town, nothing fancy. I ended up thinking maybe I should have just ordered a regular herring soba. Since it was the last day, my daughter and son-in-law were busy and couldn't eat dinner halfway, so I decided to go pick up some sushi from Sushi Sushi Matsubara in Teramachi. It was Sunday, so the boxed sushi was sold out, but I managed to get some other sushi just in time. I had some iso rolls, rolled sushi, and eel boxed sushi when I got home. I always have dashi stock ready, so I made a simple miso soup to go with it and felt relieved. Work was finally done *\(^o^)/* I'm tired, but after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, it was great to meet so many people and enjoy the four days as the Mogumogu staff. Looking forward to the next one in autumn *\(^o^)/*, let's Mogumogu again!

Today, the shop I was looking forward to visiting was unexpectedly closed, so I decided to stop by a nearby soba restaurant called Tsuya. The exterior and interior of the shop had a traditional soba restaurant feel, but they had a high-tech system where you could order from a tablet and even had a Pepper robot guiding customers. I had the chicken tempura soba and mixed rice, and although the soba was a bit soft for my liking, the broth had a gentle and delicious flavor. The mixed rice was also very tasty, so I left satisfied.

We went to Kyoto with my wife to see the Kyoto confectionery exhibition. We had lunch at a soba restaurant near the Demachi Masugata Shopping Street exit. We arrived at 13:35, waited inside, seated and ordered at 13:40, and received our soba at 13:50. Summary: Duck soba for 900 yen. The soba was delicious, with a good balance of soy sauce and bonito flavors along with the sweetness of the duck fat. It was refreshing and tasty. The duck meat was thick and tasty. The soba water turned into a delicious broth similar to duck soy sauce ramen. Board-wasabi for 580 yen. It had a strong fish paste flavor, was delicious, chewy, sweet, and lively in the mouth.

Good evening, I am a salaryman from Minato Ward. This week, the weather has been consistently bad, and it suddenly became chilly. I don't feel like going out anywhere this weekend because it's raining. Today (2020/09/26), Tokyo reported 270 new cases of COVID-19, showing an increase again. It made me realize that when people interact more, the number of infections increases. It seems that there is also an increase in cases in Europe. It's strange that only China is seeing a decrease in cases. I wonder if there is something special about that... After buying some rice cakes at Futaba in Demachiyanagi, I looked for a place to have lunch in the shopping street. The shopping street has a retro Showa era vibe, but it was quite lively with many customers walking around, unlike other retro shopping streets. Across the street from the shopping street, I found this restaurant. It seemed a bit pricey, but after checking online, I realized that the prices were reasonable, so I decided to go in. The interior of the restaurant was classic, but Pepper guided me through the store, and I placed my order using a tablet. They are quite advanced. I ordered the large portion of duck soba. The soba noodles were thin and angular, with a nice firmness, and I enjoyed the dish.

I searched for a place to have lunch near Demachiyanagi and found it on Tabelog. I used the map to find the restaurant and when I entered, Pepper greeted me. The menu was on a tablet device, where I could tap on the item I wanted and see a photo with an order button. I ordered the grated yam soba for 880 yen plus 200 yen for a large serving. They also brought me soba soup when serving the dish. I enjoyed the soba with plenty of grated yam, eating half of it normally. It was very delicious!

There is a soba restaurant on Teramachi Street in Demachiyanagi Masugata Shopping Street that I visit a few times a year. The shop has a white noren curtain and has a traditional feel to it. When I entered, I was surprised to see the staff, as they seemed quite different from what I expected. They now take orders using tablets, which made me a bit anxious about whether the order went through correctly. I even asked if the order for the zaru soba was okay. There was a regular customer, an older man, who didn't even look at the tablet and just ordered beer and zaru soba. The zaru soba here is served in a generous portion, about 1.5 times the usual amount, so I passed on the extra toppings this time. I was a bit worried about whether the local elderly customers could operate the tablet smoothly.

The cherry blossoms are starting to fall, on a chilly day I wanted something warm, so I went to eat tanuki soba in Kyoto. When you think of "tanuki" in Kyoto, you think of deep-fried tofu with sauce, grated daikon radish, and ginger. It was so comforting. But surprise! Even in a traditional soba restaurant, there was an IT wave at the entrance. Pepper-kun welcomed me, the menu and ordering were done on an iPad, and the payment was cashless. Wow!

I walked through the bustling Demachi Masugata shopping street from Shimogamo Shrine and had lunch at "Tsuya" recommended by Y-chan. It's a popular soba restaurant in the area, where Pepper-kun greets you at the entrance. I happily ordered the tempura soba, while Y-chan went for the nabeyaki udon. The restaurant seemed to be known for its oyakodon, as most tables had it. Y-chan's nabeyaki udon looked delicious with plenty of toppings. I tried a sip of the soup, which had a sophisticated blend of flavors. The soba was also very tasty, with thin and crunchy noodles. The tempura had large shrimp with thick, crispy batter. Pouring soba broth over it brought out a fragrant dashi aroma. The staff, despite being young, provided excellent service, making the dining experience pleasant. The atmosphere in this area is really nice, I wish I could live here.

I entered the restaurant right at 11 o'clock. I ordered the tenzaru and waited. It took 15 minutes for the soba to arrive. This was expected, but... the soba broth was very strong!! It tasted like it had too much soy sauce for me. The pleasant aroma and smooth texture seemed to disappear somewhere, leaving only the strong soy sauce taste. However, some people might actually enjoy that kind of flavor. With a slightly disappointed feeling, I left the restaurant.

It was extremely cold this day. I wanted to eat hot pot udon, so I decided to visit this place! However, to my disappointment, they did not have hot pot udon... A robot greeted me at the entrance. It was Pepper-kun. It seems that you have to check in with him when you arrive. It's a high-tech soba restaurant... I'm still not quite used to it, haha. I ordered the Duck Soba for 900 yen. You order through a touch screen. The dashi broth was elegant and subtly flavored, typical of Kyoto. The duck flavor was mild but still delicious. I wish there was a bit more green onion though. It warmed me up and was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal~

When you come to Demachiyanagi, this is the place to go! Located deep in the shopping street of Demachi, there is a restaurant called "Tsukuya." They have delicious soba and rice bowls. The taste of the broth will warm your stomach. My husband had the zaru soba, I had the duck rice bowl, and we shared the parent and child rice bowl. Of course, we also bought some mochi from "Demachi Futaba" and for dessert, we went to "Mitsubachi" on that day. It's fun to explore different temples for goshuin stamps.

Around 12:30 on Sunday, I visited the restaurant. I was prepared for the long line at this popular spot. The check-in system was interesting - there were baskets with number tags and a tablet on top. You enter the number of the tag you took and wait to be called. Even though the numbers in the baskets were random, they called them in the order they were taken, so it didn't matter which number you got. After a 40-minute wait, my number was finally called. When I sat down, I noticed that the orders were placed through a tablet. Surprisingly, there was a note saying "Pepper is currently hospitalized". Apparently, Pepper usually handles the customer service! Even soba restaurants are becoming high-tech these days. In any case, I believe that you can't go wrong with a soba restaurant's rice bowl. I ordered the oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) and the tororo zaru (grated yam soba). The zaru arrived first and it was huge! Then the rice bowl arrived, and it was also huge! For a moment, I thought maybe I accidentally ordered the large portion? But apparently, this was the regular size. The soba was delicious and the grated yam was a nice touch, especially in the heat. The oyakodon was as expected, with a flavorful broth. I was once again convinced that there is no disappointment here. However, the portions were so generous that I had to ask my companion for help to finish everything. It would be great if they offered half-size bowls for customers who want to try both soba and a rice bowl. Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch.
