It's very stylish! Everything is delicious no matter what you eat, and it's all around 600 yen, so it's reasonable!

After eating udon at Nakano-ya and taking a stroll, I decided to wander around the area near Ritsumeikan University's Biwako-Kusatsu Campus. There are many restaurants in this area that I used to frequent, so I have a lot of nostalgic memories of the old establishments. However, this time I wanted to try a new restaurant that I had never been to before, and I stumbled upon this place. It's located between the old curry restaurant Pikante and the post office. From what I remember, it used to be a stationery store. The exterior is trendy and stylish with a white paint job, and at first, I didn't realize it, but this place used to be a dog cafe. It's quite rare to find a dog cafe in a student area, so I remember it distinctly. The interior is mostly white, with art books serving as decorations and an unexpected courtyard-like space. The blackboard menu outside listed an eggplant and chicken coconut curry (500 yen), which I ordered. I imagined something ethnic from the menu name, but what I received seemed like a creative recipe. In addition to eggplant and chicken, lotus root was included in the dish, and the brown curry had a slightly thick consistency, almost like a sauce. The side dish was simmered dried daikon radish. The curry did have a mildness from the coconut milk, but it lacked spiciness, making it quite light. I would have preferred a bit more contrast with some chili pepper heat. Among the ingredients, the soft eggplant and crispy lotus root stood out as particularly delicious. One thing that bothered me was that the seat I was in was unusually hot (the college girl sitting in the back seemed fine). It may have been due to the kitchen temperature, but I wish they could adjust the air conditioning to make it more comfortable.

A small, cute cafe where a young man runs the place alone. It has less than 20 seats, so it can get quite crowded during peak hours. The lunch menu includes bagels, sandwiches, rice bowls, curry, and more. Despite being a one-man operation, the variety of dishes is impressive. The bagels are delicious and reasonably priced. However, my favorite part is the drink menu - all the drinks are tasty! They offer a wide range of flavored syrups as well. I often prefer coming here for a cafe experience rather than a meal. The interior is very cute and I find it inspiring. The terrace seating also has a nice atmosphere. This cafe is full of cute details and it's clear that a lot of thought went into creating it.

Disney DVDs are shown, and many picture books are displayed, making it a cozy place to stay. The food is reasonably priced and served in a stylish way. It's a rare stylish spot in a student area, not too crowded, making it a good place to stop by alone.
