I found a really good dessert with great cost-performance! I didn't know that Miyazu is famous for curry yakisoba. This cafe I visited today doesn't serve coffee, which was surprising, so I got some items to go. I bought curry yakisoba, anko, and chocolate that I can quickly take with me. I wanted to buy more curry yakisoba but didn't have time to wait in line, it must be really popular. The next day, I reheated and ate the curry yakisoba, it was soft and the curry inside was delicious! The chocolate was not too sweet and tasty too. Each item was only 150 yen, so it was a great value for a satisfying dessert. Thank you for the meal! ♡

On May 15, 2022, at 3:15, I visited "Tottoma-to" and found no customers in contrast to the long line during the previous 1st-anniversary sale. I decided to get curry and potato salad flavored snacks for later. The curry had a nice crunchy texture from cabbage and onions. The "new product" potato salad flavor was a bit loose with carrots mixed in. When I mentioned that the dough and flavors were better than before during payment, the staff said they change them frequently. The "New Generation Curry Yaki" seemed updated and tasty for snacking. The next day, I saw a sign for "Obama specialty Curry Yaki AKAO" in front of Obama Station, which seemed similar to the ones I bought. The location and shape were oddly similar to the old store "Akafuku" in Miyazu Station. It made me wonder if there's a connection between these unique grilled snacks using a special iron plate.

I stopped by to buy some souvenirs on my way home from work because the shop was nearby. The parking lot was right in front of the store. It was a weekday, so it was empty. This time, I only had the curry bread, and the baking of the curry bread was light and the color was pale. The taste was consistent with the usual curry bread, with a slightly powdery texture. It's the perfect size for a snack when you're a little hungry. I tried the curry, red bean paste, and custard flavors, but I haven't tried the chocolate and rare cheesecake flavors, so I would like to try them again.

The shop that used to be in front of Miyazu Station closed down a while ago, but it has now been revived. I used to travel to Obama or Osaka Nishinari to find the dock type of taiyaki with a long, slender shape, but even the store in Nishinari closed down, which was disappointing. However, it has unexpectedly made a comeback! Thank you very much to everyone involved. I had been hoping that someone would take over the shop... I am really happy. The taste is also excellent. Especially, the custard cream was incredibly delicious.

March 20, 2022 10:15・Curry: ¥100・Custard: ¥100•"Curry yaki," known as Miyazu's soul food, which I had at the old store ("Akafuku" on the main street near the station) about 7 years ago.•During my morning jog, I passed by and was drawn to the special price of ¥100 for the "Thank you 1st Anniversary!"•Upon entering "Totomato," I saw a long line of people with flyers containing vouchers for commemorative gifts. Roughly 30 people were in line.•I decided to wait in line, but even a small child ahead of me muttered about the slow progress, and I found myself crossing my arms naturally.•In the end, it took over an hour to place my order. Furthermore, it took another 20 minutes from receiving the receipt and number tag to actually getting the food handed to me…•Considering the slow service, I was prepared to criticize the taste, but when I took a bite of the freshly made curry yaki, I was pleasantly surprised by its deliciousness.•The filling of the "curry yaki" consisted of finely chopped carrots, ground meat, onions, and cabbage. The crunchy texture of the cabbage was delightful.•The dough was chewy, possibly made from rice flour.•I remember the version I had at the previous store having a more crumbly dough with fewer fillings, and honestly, as someone without much attachment to it, I recall it as a simple taste that didn't leave a lasting impression. However, this version tasted three times better.•While waiting for a passing rain cloud at the storefront, I chatted briefly with a person who had come out for a smoke after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes just to place an order. Glancing back into the store, I saw a line that had doubled from the original length. "I drove on the highway for 50 years to eat the taste of my high school memories for the first time since then." So, the talk of soul food didn't seem exaggerated at all.•After the rain stopped, I stopped by the "Mini Stop Yosanocho Iwataki Store" near "Kuahausu Iwataki" and finished the rest in the eat-in corner. Even when cold, it was delicious and paired well with beer.•For a snack, it seems like it would be good to add more sauce.•The inclusion of "custard" in the lineup makes sense with this chewy dough.•As an apology or gesture, they even gave me a toilet paper with "Congratulations" written on it, even though I didn't have a voucher. It seems that I was an unexpected customer for the store. I may not feel like waiting in such a line on a trip, but I would definitely want to buy it when it's less crowded.

This is a curry-yaki (curry-filled pancake) shop in Miyatsu, located inside Totomato. There is a parking lot in front of Totomato. They had 5 types of curry-filled pancake: curry, anko (sweet red bean paste), and custard. We ordered the 3 types that were available. The pancake has a fluffy texture with curry inside. The dough is slightly sweet, creating a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. The anko-filled pancake is like a stick-shaped dorayaki, and it goes well with the sweet dough. The custard-filled pancake has a nice sweetness that pairs well with the dough. Overall, the taste is delicious and it makes a great souvenir.

I visited Tottomart because I heard that Miyazu's soul food, Curry-Yaki, has made a comeback. There is a parking lot in front of the store. There are several Tottomart stores inside. This is one of the stores inside. The store in front of Miyazu Station used to have curry, anko, and cream, but now they have added more varieties. This time, I tried the classic Curry-Yaki, with a fluffy texture of the dough and delicious curry filling - it brought back nostalgic memories. The cabbage added a nice crunch, making it perfect for a snack. I'm not sure if the taste is the same as before. I would like to try other flavors besides curry.
