This morning, I had breakfast at the hotel where I stayed. They offered breakfast separately for ¥2160 including tax. However, I chose the breakfast set accommodation plan for ¥8160. I thought the breakfast was quite expensive when I saw the information last night, but I decided to give it a try this morning. I went around 6:40 AM and it wasn't crowded at all, so I could choose my meal easily. The overall quality of the food was quite good. The dishes seemed homemade, and there was even morning curry with lots of vegetables and meat. The side dishes didn't taste like they were from a can, and there was a variety of desserts and soy milk available, which was a pleasant surprise. They also offered takeaway coffee. Considering the quality of the food, I think it's worth choosing the breakfast set accommodation plan for around ¥8000.

Breakfast buffet (1,800 yen). There were many different dishes in small bowls, which was great. Everything was delicious. I got to eat Kyoto-style dishes like Yudofu, Yuba Tempura, Matcha Pudding, etc. There were also a variety of breads, desserts, and drinks to choose from, which made it fun! I want to go back again.

The individual servings at Obanzai are easy to pick up. There are plenty of original dressings available. Overall, there is a wide variety of dishes, very satisfying.

I made a reservation at a hotel near Kyoto Station that had high ratings from a certain travel agency. The hotel has a large room with a public bath and a breakfast buffet included, making it a great deal. On the first day, the breakfast buffet mainly consisted of Western food, with voluminous egg sandwiches and deliciously soft pork cutlet sandwiches. On the second day, the breakfast buffet mainly consisted of Japanese food, and I was surprised to find turtle soup. The gelatinous turtle meat in the soup was plentiful and exquisite.

Tokyo-Kyoto Shinkansen & Saturday stay with Sunday morning breakfast included for 33,800 yen - I usually don't include breakfast in my Kyoto trips because there are many options available. But, a friend recommended this one, and I must say it's worth it. The breakfast is served in a variety of colorful small dishes, each made fresh in the kitchen. It's a hassle to clean and store all the dishes, but the lack of food waste is comforting. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes, including sandwiches, rolls, tamagoyaki, yudofu, and more. The accommodation has some drawbacks like no towels in the spa, a small room bath, limited space for suitcases in single rooms, and a door entrance that quickly turns off the sensor. Overall, I may not stay here again, but the breakfast is impressive.

Good morning! Looking up at the morning sky, I quietly made a wish for a day full of smiles in Kyoto at the Almont Hotel Kyoto. While breakfast buffets are famous at hotels like La Vista Hakodate and Dormy Inn, there is a hotel in Kyoto that offers an impressive breakfast spread. Part of the Hokkaido Club chain, this hotel in Kyoto serves a Kyoto-style breakfast with a variety of small dishes including Kyoto-style "obanzai" dishes. There are over 10 types of pickles, as well as regular bread and croissants, and even sandwiches. The Kyoto essence continues with items like "yuba spring rolls" and Kansai-style oden. The fruit and dessert selection is also extensive, and there are plenty of drinks including freshly made smoothies. Despite the additional cost of 1,800 yen, considering the prices of breakfast options in Kyoto, it's worth it to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the comfort of the hotel. The Almont Hotel, with its unique name reminiscent of a blend of Aljante and Mondo Interro, offers a clean and spacious room, a well-equipped bathroom, and even a charging cord in the room. I would love to stay here again when I come back to Kyoto for a race.

On the third day of my trip to Kyoto, my mother wanted to relax in the morning, so we decided to have breakfast at the hotel. Since we had only booked a room without meals, I had to purchase breakfast vouchers at the front desk. It cost 1,800 yen per person for a buffet-style breakfast, which seemed quite reasonable for a hotel breakfast. The breakfast venue was clean and new, which was a plus. What I liked the most was that the side dishes were served in small dishes, one by one. It felt clean and there was no messy feeling that is often associated with buffets. Of course, there were also dishes served on plates, but they were replenished quickly, so they looked clean. There were also a variety of fruits and sweets, making it a satisfying breakfast. Thanks to that, I ended up eating too much and ended up skipping lunch, which worked out well for our early dinner plans to have eel. Since our usual hotel had closed down, I'm considering staying here next time.

Employee who is always there is almost the same, and I wonder if I have become a person who is used to drawing manga without realizing it, in my early thirties. I thought being a professional manga artist would be like being a director, but in my case, I ended up doing miscellaneous tasks like a producer. I think if I were a director, I would be overwhelmed mentally, so it's probably for the best. This is my third time using breakfast at this hotel, and this time it's calmer than before, so I will summarize the situation for a review. The breakfast venue is a restaurant called "Hanamomi" on the first floor, and it is a buffet style. The operating hours are from 6:30 to 10:00, with the last order at 9:30. The main dishes are Kyoto-style Japanese dishes, with Western options like granola and bread. If you want to take your time and choose like me, make sure to go with plenty of time. The breakfast buffet costs 1,800 yen (including tax), which is a bit on the higher side for a business hotel, but I heard that the Hoka Club group focuses on local cuisine. Local cuisine for breakfast is a good choice for various scenes such as business trips and sightseeing, as part of the enjoyment of travel. The salad and fruits are easy to take with bowls, showing attention to detail. Here are my impressions of the buffet: On the first day, I had cheese fondue, Kyoto-style dashi udon, and desserts. On the second day, I had a morning smoothie, which was a hit. On the third day, I had another morning smoothie and received help from a female employee. On the last day, I overdid it with salad and had to deal with it before leaving. Overall, the experience was not perfect, but it was a good choice for breakfast.

When staying in Kyoto, I was tired of staying at the same regular hotel, so I searched for a business hotel with a large public bath because I knew I would be going out to Shijo Kawaramachi at night. I chose this hotel, which didn't have a website listed in the basic information, but I found out it was part of the Hokke Club group. The hotel is located south of the intersection of Kawaramachi Street and Hachijo Street. It's about a 7-minute walk from Kyoto Station's Hachijo exit. I arrived in Kyoto in the morning, dropped off my luggage, visited Byodoin Temple in Uji, and then returned to check in at the hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly. After dropping off my luggage, I tried to find a taxi on Kawaramachi Street to head towards Shijo, but there were a lot of cars going downhill and hardly any going uphill. I had no choice but to return to the hotel and ask the front desk to call a taxi for me. Taxis in Kyoto are surprisingly cheap. It only cost around 1,200 yen to go from Hachijo to 2nd Avenue on Kawaramachi Street. In Tokyo, it would have cost around 2,000 yen. I went bar hopping around Sanjo and Shijo, and when I went to a ramen shop I had been eyeing near Nijo, there was a long line. I waited in line, enjoyed my meal, returned to the hotel, took a relaxing bath in the large public bath, and slept soundly. In the morning, I had breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor. I have had breakfast included in business hotel plans many times, but the breakfast here was quite delicious. The price was reasonable and the hotel was just right for exploring Kyoto.

This time, I chose a hotel in Kyoto based on its proximity to the train station. It was a package deal from JR Tokai Tours, including round-trip Shinkansen tickets, which was very cost-effective. Additionally, there was a "+50" option, which I hadn't noticed before, and it was quite a good deal. I chose to stay at Hotel Monterey Kyoto, which had a large communal bath. It was about a 10-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. Our rough itinerary was as follows: First day: Visit the Gion Matsuri festival at Shimogamo Shrine, drop off luggage at the hotel, have lunch in the Higashiyama area Second day: Explore the city center, have lunch, visit shrines Last day: Store luggage in the station lockers, visit Uji and Fushimi We did a lot of walking each day and got quite tired, but the spacious communal bath at the hotel was a great way to relax and unwind. However, on the first day, there was a child playing in the bath like a pool, and the young mother didn't seem to care. An older woman had to tell her to stop, and the mother didn't say anything as she took the child out. When I went back to the bath later, it had been cleaned thoroughly, so I gave the hotel some extra points for that. Overall, the hotel was strict about check-in times and the walk to Tofukuji Station took longer than expected due to misinformation from the front desk. The hotel is convenient for those who don't mind walking to the station and offers points for the clean communal bath and the availability of guidebooks in the lobby. If you're not a fan of communal baths, you might appreciate having a private one in your room instead. Thank you for the hospitality. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Kyoto.

I stayed here on a business trip. I chose this place simply because it was close to Kyoto Station, but I felt lucky when I checked in. It was the end of summer on a weekend, and I needed to stay overnight for work due to travel arrangements. There are several accommodations near the station, but the travel agency recommended this brand new one. I checked in after midnight, but the attractive lobby stood out. Even at this late hour, foreign guests were researching travel information in the lobby's reference room. There were two search terminals and a variety of Kyoto guides and books available. Alongside the reference room, the big draw was the large communal bath. Although not a hot spring, taking a bath in the early morning helps refresh and clear the mind. Lastly, I must mention the delicious breakfast. The buffet with Kyoto-style dishes was of high quality. Sesame tofu, simmered eggplant, simmered mountain pepper, tsukudani, pickles, mixed rice... vegetable and mushroom-based, gentle-tasting side dishes. I highly recommend this accommodation. (First visit in August 2013)

The triple room was a rare find and much appreciated. The hotel was clean and had good security measures in place. The check-in process was done through a machine for payment, and the card key was issued there as well. A password was required to access the public bath, which was provided on a paper given during check-in. The highlight was the breakfast buffet, which was delicious and I would love to have it again. There is a parking lot next to the hotel for a few cars. Although there is a Seven-Eleven nearby, it's a bit dark to walk there at night. The standard rate was a bit high for what was offered.

I had a so-called buffet-style breakfast with a wide variety of options, and I enjoyed it so much that I had multiple servings and spent a long time savoring the meal. I would definitely want to visit again when staying in Kyoto.
