I've recently been obsessed with takoyaki, so I decided to try this place that I've been curious about for a while. Just to clarify, I'm not a picky eater when it comes to takoyaki, so my standards are quite low. Please keep that in mind as you read. There was a prominently displayed price list for takeout orders, but I couldn't find any other price list, so I assumed that was the pricing. Takeout was slightly cheaper, but since they priced everything down to the last yen, it was a bit confusing. The owners, a man and a woman who seemed to be in their thirties, were running the place. The man had a bit of a tough guy vibe, like he could be in a Toei V-Cinema film. The woman greeted us with a friendly "Irasshaimase" and had a kind and polite demeanor. There are many wonderful owners who may seem tough but are actually very nice, like a ramen shop owner who used to be a Yankee. Those kinds of places make you want to visit again and again. Otherwise, you just end up looking like a thug at your age, which is unpleasant. Well, for a casual customer like me, as long as the takoyaki tastes good, that's all that matters. I ordered the "Takoyaki 6 pieces" (432 yen) to go, and when I got home, I noticed that many of them didn't have any octopus inside. Maybe they were too small to notice even if they were there. I'll post a close-up of one of the small ones. By the way, my habit when getting takoyaki to go is to first take out the octopus to give to my cat, then I start eating the takoyaki without octopus. So, even if the octopus was small, I wouldn't have missed it. But this time, I struggled to find any octopus except for one that was decent-sized (though still tiny) which I gave to my cat, and the small one I posted in the photo. As you can see in the photo, my cat is not pleased. As for the taste, I would cook them longer if it were up to me. In Kansai, we've been making takoyaki at home since we were kids, but maybe the husband and wife here didn't grow up with that tradition. This time might just be an exception. It's hard to believe that this is the norm. I'd really like to hear from regular customers about their experiences. That's all.
