During the first half of Golden Week, I visited Kyoto. I made a lunch reservation in advance before visiting. My friend who came with me had been there before and recommended this Italian restaurant in a traditional Japanese house. We enjoyed sparkling wine as a service before starting our meal. There were two lunch courses available, but since we were also planning to have a full kaiseki meal in the evening, we opted for the smaller course. We started with prosciutto, followed by a delicious potage soup, pasta, and a main course, all with great portion sizes and flavors that highlighted the quality of the ingredients. The sommelier paired our dishes with wine, allowing us to leisurely enjoy our meal. The new onion potage was especially delicious, and the bonito pasta had a rich and flavorful taste similar to a meat sauce. The cheek meat was tender and satisfying. They even provided us with two dessert wines, making it a truly wonderful lunch experience in Gion, Kyoto. I would love to visit again in the evening next time.

I visited for lunch. I wanted to go to a dessert place as well, so I made a reservation for the lunch option with fewer items that was said to be the most popular. It was a busy holiday weekend, and all the seats in the same room were full. The quiet atmosphere was unlike the bustling city, and I was able to enjoy a lunch while soaking in the traditional Kyoto townhouse ambiance. A welcome drink was served before the meal. The pear appetizer, sweet potato soup, karasumi pasta, and main meat dish were all delicious. I had a bad experience with karasumi at a previous restaurant and didn't like it, but the karasumi pasta here was truly exquisite! I wanted seconds. Each dish was explained to us, and the waiter, who seemed like a new part-timer, was charming in their speech. However, they were attentive to the customers' needs, clearing plates promptly and bringing out the next course at the right timing. Perhaps because they had reservations for the next time slot, the plates were cleared quite quickly after finishing, which made us feel a bit rushed. But it's understandable for a popular restaurant. It was the most affordable lunch option, but I was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I used it for a special anniversary. The course was tailored to exclude things I don't like, which made me very happy. All the dishes were delicious, and since it was a special day, I asked for a celebration plate and they even set off fireworks to make it more luxurious. I was so happy! And it was beautiful! The staff was very kind and the food was great! I would love to come back when I visit Kyoto again!

I made a reservation for Friday at 8:00 pm. The restaurant was quite empty. The food was all delicious and beautifully presented, creating a happy atmosphere. It was interesting that we could get a refill of focaccia as soon as we finished it. We used it to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was so good that I want to go again.

The sea urchin pasta was also excellent. It is a restaurant that uses plenty of Kyoto ingredients and can be enjoyed in an old folk house. The wine pairing options were great too. It is a perfect place for business dinners or celebrations. The location is convenient, so please give it a try.

I ordered the course menu. I enjoyed delicacies such as caviar and truffles. The dishes had a rich flavor and paired well with the drinks. I was worried about not getting full because the portions were small, but with the addition of oil pasta, I was satisfied by the time I had the meat dish! The staff were attentive and quick to refill our water, which was much appreciated. The food was delicious and I had a wonderful time.

On the day of, even though I made a last-minute reservation for just myself, they kindly accepted it. The atmosphere feels very homey, with others around receiving surprises as well. I can't eat a lot, but I was debating trying the course with conger eel, so I upgraded to the A course with Omi beef instead, which required advance reservation. The beef was tender and delicious, and the sauce was full of truffle aroma! The seasoning was on the stronger side, so it was just right to enjoy with some drinks. Thank you for the meal!

I was intrigued by this Italian restaurant on Tabelog. The interior, renovated from an old folk house, is stylish and sophisticated. I had the lunch course with a drink included, and they smoothly accommodated my friend's dietary restrictions that I had informed them of in advance. The cost performance was good with the drink included, and they even prepared a lovely cake as a surprise for my friend's birthday. We had a great time. I recommended this place to my friends, and they were also pleased when they visited. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

The train was late, making me arrive later than expected, but they kindly guided me to the restaurant. The atmosphere and service at the restaurant were excellent. I enjoyed high-quality ingredients. I feel bad saying this about Italian cuisine, but I'm not a fan of cheese (on its own), so I mentioned it, and they surprised me with an amazing dish! I've posted a photo of it. The taste was delicious, and the service from the gentleman was very thoughtful and pleasant. Thank you very much.

A renovated old folk house turned into a restaurant. It has a long layout with a second floor, and a spacious interior with a courtyard. The view from the second floor is particularly nice. The food is delicious, the staff is knowledgeable, and the timing of drink service is good. The only downside is that the food can be a bit slow. They offer a wide variety of courses, making it easy to choose based on the occasion. There are also private rooms available, making it a nice option that is slightly more affordable and user-friendly compared to high-end restaurants in Kyoto.

The atmosphere was very nice and perfect for my boyfriend's birthday surprise trip dinner. The staff's consideration and care, like quickly bringing the bill while he was in the restroom, was also lovely. Thank you very much! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

It was a course meal for about 7000 yen that I was very satisfied with. - Appetizer: Burrata Caprese - Soup: Mushroom soup - Pasta: Spaghetti with squid ink oil sauce - Fish: Fried white fish with scallions - Meat: Choice of 3 options, with an additional charge for substituting duck with either beef cheek or Omi beef steak - Dessert: Panna Cotta Everything was delicious, with a great balance of flavors. The dishes were full of variety, with squid ink on the pasta, Mimolette cheese on the fish, and truffle and pastry in the soup, creating rich and flavorful dishes without being too salty.

We had a year-end dinner at this restaurant. We were seated at a large table in a private room. For the appetizers, we had snow crab sformato, Ise ebi consomme jelly with caviar, and blowfish fritters with Mimolette cheese. The soup was black truffle and mushroom soup. The pasta dish was clam and karasumi pasta. For the main course, we had sautéed saury fish and Omi beef steak. For dessert, we had panna cotta and milk gelato. All the dishes were delicious, with the pasta and fish standing out as particularly amazing. The combination of karasumi with the pasta was especially tasty, and the saury fish with shungiku sauce was unique and delicious. We are looking forward to trying their lunch menu next time.

Italian restaurant in a traditional house in Gion, Kyoto. The atmosphere was calm and the service was polite. The dishes were not pretentious, but they were beautiful and delicious. The black truffle and mushroom soup was delicious. It was a private room, so the timing of pouring the bottle of wine was a bit disappointing, but it couldn't be helped.

I had a dinner party with a former colleague at a restaurant in Kyoto called "Scorpione Gion". It is a very charming building and seems to be popular with women. We had reserved a 7500 yen course. The menu included: - Appetizer: Abalone and caviar - Soup: Black truffle and mushroom - Pasta: Snow crab, squid ink, Kyoto yuzu, olive oil sauce with bavettine - Fish dish: Pacific saury with Mimolette cheese - Meat dish: Omi beef steak with taro - Bread: Homemade focaccia - Dessert & Tea We started with a sparkling wine for a toast, then ordered a half bottle of white wine to go with the food, and finally a half bottle of red wine. The restaurant only serves Italian wines, as per the owner's preference. The food and wine were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited based on reviews, but even before finishing my meal, dishes kept being brought out one after another, plates were taken away without a word, and the final coffee was instant and tasted terrible. The food was not bad, and the dessert was decent, but far from impressive. The service seemed untrained, likely college students working part-time, as they started setting up the table for the next customers while I was still trying to drink water after returning from the restroom. I understand the desire to turn tables quickly during the autumn foliage season, but this was too much. There was no sense of hospitality at all. It was a lunch that left me feeling very unpleasant, despite the relatively high price. The overly positive reviews are also concerning. I hope this was just a one-off experience...

I visited the restaurant for my child's birthday celebration. I saw on the internet that they had spaghetti with karasumi on the menu, but I didn't think my child would eat it, so I called ahead and they were able to change the menu for us. They also prepared a dessert with a message plate at the end, making it a great celebration.

A typical machiya in Kyoto. Close to Shirakawa in Gion. Had sparkling wine with lunch. Enjoyed a course meal in a private room. Chose the fried pike conger as the main dish. The dessert assortment was also delicious.

The lunch course cost 3800 yen. The cheese in the appetizer was light, fresh, and creamy, paired well with the prosciutto. The soup was described as black truffle, but it seemed more like porcini mushroom soup, which was incredibly delicious. The pasta with karasumi looked salty at first glance, but the balance of oil and karasumi was excellent, not too salty at all. The beef cheek ragu was not as heavy as it looked, with the cheek meat being tender yet retaining a nice meaty texture - I wanted to eat twice as much! The dessert, panna cotta, was not too sweet or heavy, and I enjoyed it until the end. I had to drive afterwards, so I opted for a soft drink, but I would definitely have wine next time. I plan to visit for dinner next time.

Lunch in Kyoto. I ordered the most popular course at an Italian restaurant renovated from an old folk house. I chose sparkling wine for my drink. The prosciutto and cheese were well seasoned, and the cheese had a good volume, making it light and easy to eat. The pasta with karasumi was full of flavor and satisfying. The beef cheek ragu was well simmered and tender. The course was well balanced overall, with delicious and classic flavors. Thank you for the meal.

This is an Italian restaurant in Gion. There are two floors, with a few tables and a counter on the first floor, and table seating and semi-private rooms on the second floor. The atmosphere inside is chic and stylish, perfect for a lovely time. The main dishes can be chosen from fish or meat options. The course includes appetizer, soup, pasta, choice of main dish, dessert, bread, and coffee, making it a satisfying lunch. I had the mentaiko pasta this time, and although I initially thought the amount of mentaiko might be overwhelming, it was actually delicious. The perfect balance of saltiness made it not too heavy. I had a wonderful time here.
