On a rainy day, it's nice to be able to reach this shop through the underground passage from Kyoto Station. It is located on the 2nd floor of a building right next to Yodobashi Camera on the north side, where Daiwa Roynet Hotel is also located. They used to have lunch sets with multiple side dishes, but unfortunately, those are no longer available. Now they offer a la carte menu items like pho and banh mi, with side dishes like fresh spring rolls as additions. I added fresh spring rolls because just having pho seemed boring. The flavors, including the seasoning, were well done, and the steamed chicken pho was delicious. It's not too crowded near Kyoto Station, which is nice. I'd like to visit again when I feel like having an ethnic lunch near the station.

I couldn't decide between ordering just noodles or the Vietnamese sandwich and half pho set for 1,200 yen. The food arrived in a few minutes. The pho soup had a strong chicken flavor and was delicious. The noodles were quite soft, topped with thinly sliced beef, bean sprouts, sliced onions, green onions, and fried onions. There were separate dishes of minced coriander, lime, and chili peppers. The lime was small so I couldn't change the taste much. The banh mi had a crispy outer layer and a soft inner layer, with pickled radish and carrots, thinly sliced braised beef, boiled egg tempura, and coriander sandwiched inside. There is a shop on the 2nd floor of the hotel next to Yodobashi on the east side of Kyoto Station. I had takeout banh mi before. This is my first time dining in the shop, and the interior is spacious and has an open atmosphere. About half of the customers seem to be Vietnamese. We ordered the daily rice bowl and the daily pho for 1000 yen (tax included) for my wife, and I ordered the banh mi lunch for 1100 yen (tax included). When we entered, the staff informed us that there is only one cook, so it may take some time, but surprisingly, the food came out quite quickly. The banh mi was delicious, as always. In Vietnam, banh mi is typically eaten for breakfast, so in Japan, it's considered lunch, but in Vietnam, it's a morning meal. The pho is healthy and delicious. It's a shame that there were no condiments available, probably due to the current situation with COVID-19. I wonder if they would have brought some if we had asked. I would like to visit again.

I ordered the "Nya Vietnam Set" which came with 6 side dishes, choosing "Bun Bo Hue" for the pho, and added Vietnamese coffee for dessert. The dishes included fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls, green papaya salad, and more, but the balance of sweet, salty, and sour flavors typical of Vietnamese cuisine felt lacking. The Bun Bo Hue was pleasantly spicy. The dessert Che consisted of coconut milk with tapioca and taro, served at room temperature. The Vietnamese coffee took a while to brew, so I opted for hot, but it ended up being a bit lukewarm by the time it was ready to drink. Overall, the experience was not bad, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. I heard the Banh Mi lunch set is recommended, so I might try that next time.
