もぐかゆ
This time, I ordered the Kyoto Duck Course (6930 yen), which includes:
- Appetizer
- Kyoto Duck Breast Tataki
- Kyoto Duck Prosciutto Salad
- Fried Kyoto Duck
- Kyoto Duck Loin Steak
- Kyoto Duck Loin Shabu-Shabu Hot Pot
- Ramen or Zosui (rice porridge) for the finish
- Dessert
The appetizer was sesame tofu, with a hint of wasabi making it delicious right from the start. The Kyoto Duck Breast Tataki can be enjoyed with caviar, kaiware, and yuba. The meat is tender and melts in your mouth without any unpleasant odor.
The Kyoto Duck Prosciutto Salad had a delicious dressing that I finished in no time. The fried items included Kyoto Duck breast, zucchini, and nama-fu. I was surprised at how delicious duck meat is when fried, and I wanted more of each!
Next was the Loin Steak, which was tender and flavorful without any overpowering taste. When paired with salt, the deliciousness of the duck meat was enhanced even more. The Kyoto Duck Loin Shabu-Shabu featured a soup made of 100% duck, seasoned only with salt and soy sauce. The fresh duck meat made for a delightful shabu-shabu experience, especially when paired with the sweet Kujo green onions.
For the finish, I had Zosui, which was incredibly delicious with its flavorful broth. I finished it in no time and was completely satisfied. The ramen also looked tempting, and I regret not getting it to go. The dessert was a "Kamotama Pudding," made with duck eggs, resulting in a rich and bouncy texture. I could eat multiple of these!
From start to finish, it was all about duck! A duck lover's dream. Even my friend who was trying duck for the first time praised the deliciousness. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
The restaurant offers a lovely view of the Kamo River. The interior has counter seats, table seats, and upstairs there are tatami and private rooms. This time, I was seated at a table with a view of the Kamo River. I visited in the evening, and the first floor was already full early on! I recommend making a reservation when you visit.
