I had ramen that I ate in the past, but I don't have good memories of it. It was lunchtime, but only about 20% of the customers were there. I had a bad feeling, but there was a set menu available, so I ordered the ramen with a mini fried rice for ¥1100. The fried rice came with the ramen. The ramen soup seemed to be a tonkotsu-based broth, but it was a bit light. The fried rice had a dry texture, and you could tell they were trying to make the eggs fluffy. The ramen noodles were soft, closer to al dente. It seemed like the older person making it influenced the flavor and texture. Overall, the taste seemed lacking something. It might be just right for those who prefer light flavors.

I visited the restaurant in the early afternoon. I like soft ramen, and I think the noodles cooked by the restaurant are delicious. I feel that ramen in Kyoto is generally on the softer side. I don't like the idea of "noodles should be firm!" The noodles were too soft, almost to the point where you don't need to chew. The soup was light, and the fried rice had a strong flavor. There was white rice in it. The chashu was tasty but lacked flavor.

I entered the restaurant feeling very hungry. I ordered ramen and fried rice. The fried rice tasted salty at first. The ramen had a strong pork bone flavor but wasn't too heavy. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I can't write more details or else I'll get in trouble with Tabelog. They also have a parking lot, which is convenient in Gojo.

A prominent ramen restaurant on Gojo Street. I ordered the Deluxe Set (ramen with extra meat and fried rice) for 1300 yen. The portion was surprisingly large. The ramen tasted a bit bland, possibly due to insufficient draining of the noodles. The fried rice, however, was delicious.

Many people here order the "set!" menu. There are several types of sets available, but the classic combination is ramen (regular) + fried rice (small). I like to add bamboo shoots to this. The salty fried rice with a hint of soy sauce aroma from being lightly burnt is irresistible. At first, you might be surprised by the salty taste, but it goes well with the ramen. This flavor combination must have been born out of years of tradition. The ramen soup is a classic Kyoto-style pork bone soy sauce, not too strong, more on the light side. With plenty of green onions on top, I quickly mix the noodles in to heat them up. And then, I add a surprising amount of pepper and spiciness to the soup. This is the usual flow of things. While enjoying the fried rice, I sip the soup with a spoon. Ah, delicious! These simple yet not ordinary lunch meals are the best. Each restaurant has its own unique atmosphere, and this one feels like dining in a place where an old man is cooking. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight, I visited Ramen Hyakumangoku for the first time. The ramen had an old-fashioned Chinese soba style with thickly sliced, moist chashu that was delicious. The noodles were not powdery and very easy to eat. It wasn't a ramen with a strong impact, but I had a better impression than the 3.25 rating on Tabelog. If I were to rate it, I would give it around 3.35 points. Thank you for the meal.

The thick-sliced chashu had a satisfying texture, and the ramen had a light and refreshing flavor similar to Chinese soba. The authentic kimchi from Osaka's Tsuruhashi (shown in the fourth photo) was also delicious. Thank you for the meal, it was a feast. #Grateful for life.

I had planned to have lunch at "CKD (you know what I mean!)" but when I arrived at a place called Yonsei-en by bike, there was a long line in front of the restaurant. Oh no, change of plans! Where should I go instead? At that moment, I suddenly felt like eating "yakimeshi" and for some reason, this restaurant came to mind, so I changed direction on my bike. The probability of me not ordering ramen at a ramen shop is quite high, so today I didn't order ramen again. The yakimeshi that arrived after a while was quite ordinary. The taste was also ordinary, but that's exactly what I was looking for, so it was just right. It was packed with ingredients, including char siu, and it was delicious. The soup arrived late. Well, this soup is enough. I don't need ramen. Well, to be a bit critical, if this soup had been the taste of ramen, I wouldn't feel like coming back just to eat ramen. I ate it quickly and paid 600 yen. Well, that's about right. Thank you for the meal.

I had some business at Research Park and visited with my family. The fried rice looked delicious so we ordered a set. The fried rice was as good as it looked, with fluffy rice, green onions, eggs, and plenty of small pieces of meat - very tasty. The ramen was pork bone ramen with a mild flavor, and the simmered pork was delicious. The green onions were also tasty. We were satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I really wanted to have ramen for lunch, so I was searching for a place and happened to come across this restaurant. It's convenient that they have a parking lot despite being near the station. They offer soy sauce and miso flavored ramen. The popular choice seems to be the set that includes ramen and fried rice. I decided to try the soy sauce ramen set. Soon enough, the fried rice and ramen arrived. The soy sauce ramen was surprisingly light despite its appearance. The soup seemed to be pork bone-based and didn't have a strong flavor. The noodles were thin and cooked to a soft texture. The toppings included green onions and three slices of chashu, which was a nice touch. Perhaps they are considerate of customers who visit after drinking near the station. The fried rice had a strong salty flavor, contrasting with the ramen. It would make a good side dish for beer. Although they mentioned it was a small portion, it was actually a normal serving size you would find in other restaurants. This is a recommended place for those who want a hearty and satisfying lunch. Thank you for the delicious meal!

After finishing work, I parked my car in the parking lot in front of this shop and entered the shop after 8:00 PM. The restaurant was empty, so I chose a table seat. Looking at the menu, I saw that they offered ramen in soy sauce and miso flavors, as well as a set menu with fried rice. There seemed to be a focus on the fried rice based on the signs and menu, but I decided to order the Deluxe Soy Sauce Ramen (950 yen) only. When the bowl was brought to me, it was covered with slices of char siu. I tried the soup, which had a faint aroma of pork bone and a mild umami flavor with a good balance of saltiness and acidity. The base seemed to be pork bone soup, but it wasn't too strong and had a nice umami taste that was easy to enjoy. The noodles were cooked soft and had a chewy texture that went well with the soup. The char siu was made from boiled pork shoulder loin, with a dense, thick texture and a satisfying amount of meat. The initial animal-like scent I noticed in the first bite gradually faded, and the char siu was also very filling. It was a ramen with a good amount of volume. Maybe next time I'll try the fried rice too?

Located near Tanbaguchi Station, along a wide street. The menu features a regular soy sauce ramen for 750 yen in the top left corner. As soon as it arrives, the large slices of chashu catch your eye, justifying the price of 750 yen. The soup is a pork bone-based broth typical of Kyoto, slightly porky in flavor. This may be divisive depending on personal preference. The noodles are straight and very soft, possibly overcooked or intentionally prepared this way. Again, this may not suit everyone's taste. A ramen that may appeal to some, but personally, I won't be returning.

I went to a new restaurant and ordered the deluxe set of chashu ramen for 1,300 yen. The chashu in the ramen was thick, which was a bit too much for me as a fan of Daiei-style chashu. The soup had a sharp soy sauce flavor, different from what I expected. The fried rice tasted like it had a lot of artificial seasoning. I'm not sure if I will go back again.

I can't believe when I say "miso ramen is thin", you should go and try it yourself. Well, taste is subjective so it's better to confirm it yourself. This time, I saw they had pork kimchi so I went for that. Pork Kimchi (small)... even though it's small, it's quite a generous portion. For those who have been there before, you might know that it's served in the same plate as the fried rice (small). It said "pork meat" on the menu but the pork kimchi that came out was basically delicious kimchi stir-fried with chashu. Well, if the chashu is pork meat then it's not a lie (^^;) When you think about it, kimchi alone is 250 yen, and pork kimchi (small) is 330 yen, so for those who want to try both, pork kimchi might be a better deal. The fried rice here was too spicy for me, so it tasted even better when mixed with white rice! Oh, and as expected, the miso ramen was indeed thin (-- )

The first time I got fried rice to go (too strong for me), the second time I got miso ramen (too weak), so the third time I tried soy sauce ramen! Usually, if I don't like it the first time, I don't go back for a second time, but this place was an exception. Late at night, there were two other customers at the counter. The staff only consisted of the owner. There was a female staff member last time, but not this time. We ordered a ramen set, gyoza, kimchi, and a bottle of beer. The kimchi was from Tsuruhashi and had the perfect balance of spiciness, sourness, and sweetness. The ramen set came with soy sauce ramen and a small portion of fried rice, which was actually quite filling. The fried rice was too strong for me, but the kimchi helped balance the flavors. The ramen was not as weak as the miso ramen I had last time and was delicious. The gyoza was juicy and had a hint of sweetness. I forgot to take a picture of the gyoza last time. They charge an extra 50 yen to change the flavor to miso, but why is miso ramen weaker than soy sauce ramen? They have long opening hours and serve food throughout the day, so I will definitely go back for the soy sauce ramen.

I visited the restaurant around 8:00 PM on a regular day and there was only one customer already there. It was my first time, so I felt a bit anxious due to the lack of crowd. The fact that you can see the inside of the restaurant clearly from the outside is a big plus for a first-time visitor like me. We ordered soy sauce ramen and gyoza. The restaurant wasn't particularly friendly, but there was nothing unpleasant and we were able to place our order and get water. The fried rice was flavorful, almost too much so. It wasn't overpowering when eaten before the ramen, but it felt a bit strong when eaten together. The ramen, on the other hand, was delicious. It had a rich pork bone soy sauce flavor with a good amount of pepper, although it was still enjoyable without it. The chashu was quite thick and tasty, but I prefer thinner slices. The gyoza was okay, nothing special. Overall, I really like this ramen, although I wish the noodles were a bit firmer. I'm not sure if you can customize that. The ramen and fried rice set was a bit pricey at over 1000 yen, but because I enjoy the flavor, I would like to visit again.

The fried rice my partner brought home the other day was a bit on the salty side, but it was pretty good, so I decided to try their ramen. I had only tried their ramen once before, so I didn't really remember it. I ordered the miso ramen (regular)... it came with three large slices of chashu and green onions on top. The chashu was delicious! But the soup was... very light (-- ) It had the color of miso, but there was no miso flavor or aroma, which was disappointing (-- ) I thought maybe the miso had settled at the bottom, so I tried mixing it, but it was still light. The gyoza (no photo) was a bit on the smaller side. It was crispy on the outside and tasty inside (^^) The kimchi... seemed like a store-bought brand? It tasted familiar, like something I've had before. It was quite spicy. I usually order miso ramen, but after taking a sip of the soup, I couldn't help but say "huh?" The soup was too light, even after adding some pepper from the table... I wonder if soy sauce ramen would have been better this time. The restaurant is close by and open late, so if I have the chance, I might try their soy sauce ramen next time... (if there is a next time (^^;))

Ramen Hyakumangoku @ Kyoto
I had work near Tanbaguchi Station on this day, so I decided to have lunch here!! The menu looks like this ^_^
However, it seems to be very popular around lunchtime (@0@)
Sugo soy sauce flavor (regular) 750 yen
Wow!! The ramen in Kyoto is incredibly delicious, isn't it (laughs) The large chashu pork slices were plentiful and excellent (^皿^) Ushishi
It became even more delicious when I added garlic, so I couldn't help but order extra rice (/▽*\)
I finished it all in one go, thank you for the meal ^_^

I casually visited a ramen shop in Kyoto Research Park on my way home from work. Inside the shop, the menu displayed prominently the options for "Manpuku Ramen" and "Deluxe Ramen". This time, I decided to try the Manpuku Ramen. The dish was filled with plenty of chashu pork. The noodles were also plentiful. The chashu pork had a nice thickness to it, providing a satisfying bite. With a name like "Manpuku Ramen", it definitely lived up to its promise of leaving me feeling full and satisfied.

I had soy sauce ramen (regular) and a bottle of beer near dusk. They cost 750 yen and 550 yen respectively, totaling 1300 yen. After finishing work, I had some time to wait at a nearby bus stop, so I decided to stop by a ramen shop nearby for a mini celebration. It was around 5 pm, and the shop was open with no other customers, so it felt like they let me use the spacious interior even more. I thought about ordering gyoza as well, but since dinner was coming soon, I settled for ramen and beer. The ramen arrived shortly after. The soup was tonkotsu shoyu, similar to popular chains like Ichiran, which I personally enjoy. The chashu had minimal fat and a rich flavor from the lean meat, which was also delicious. If I had to nitpick, I would prefer the noodles to be a bit firmer. Next time, I might try ordering gyoza and fried rice (with beer?) as well.
