After the memorial service, we had a meal gathering. They kindly opened on a Sunday afternoon, which was their day off. It seems to be run by a couple, and they served the dishes with perfect timing. I was worried if I could finish all the food, but each dish was so delicious that I ended up eating everything. I don't have many opportunities to visit other than during memorial services, but I definitely want to ask them to open for us again next time. The service was also very pleasant and welcoming.

I came to Amanohashidate on Saturday, but almost all dinner reservations were full. There seemed to be few restaurants in the area. I regret being careless. I asked the hotel for recommendations and called Sakanazen. Miraculously, I was able to make a reservation and went there. The place was packed when we arrived. We were lucky to get the last table. My son and I took a deep breath. We started with a local beer called Asobibeer. It was delicious! We ordered sea bass sashimi and grilled oysters. They were incredibly tasty. We also ordered grilled gurnard, rolled omelette, and Nasu-style miso. Everything was so delicious. Next, we ordered steamed sea bream and fried blowfish. The steamed sea bream and fried blowfish were mind-blowing. It's always a joy to find a restaurant that is delicious despite having low ratings! I definitely plan on visiting again!

After drinking at the Tomitaya, I wanted to have a few more drinks at a leisurely pace. On my way from the station to the hotel, I visited a shop that caught my eye. It was late on a weekday, so there was only one group of customers before me and no one else after. Time passed by leisurely. - Assorted sashimi: Tuna, octopus, horse mackerel, squid, and more, two pieces each. All were fresh, with a rich flavor, and delicious. - Sweet soy sauce glazed bell peppers: Priced at 550 yen. Bell peppers seasoned with soy sauce. The bell peppers had a firm sweetness and were delicious. - Special beef tongue stew: Priced at 880 yen. Beef tongue stew served with crispy baguette. The tender beef tongue and rich demi-glace sauce were very delicious. The dishes were all carefully prepared and very delicious, allowing for a relaxing time. There was a variety of menu items ranging from hearty dishes to snacks, so I would like to visit this restaurant again when I come back to Miyazu.

While sightseeing, I made a reservation at this restaurant. It was a relatively new and clean establishment. It seemed quite popular as many people had reservations, and by 8 pm it was almost full. The food was consistently good, and I particularly enjoyed the tataki and grilled dried firefly squid. The menu had a good mix of traditional and creative dishes, with a focus on fresh seafood. The sake and other alcoholic drinks complemented the food well. The staff, although few in number, were efficient and attentive. The restaurant was clean and seemed to be popular, although it appeared to attract more tourists than regular customers, probably due to being new. Overall, it seems like a trendy spot that may become more popular in the future.

My family went out for dinner together. The sashimi was very fresh and delicious! The sweet and sour sea cucumber was also incredibly tasty. The children happily ate sushi and fried chicken.

Even though it's called Kyoto, it's actually Miyazu. It's a 2-hour train ride from Kyoto Station, in northern Kinki. Miyazu is located near Amanohashidate, at the base of the Tango Peninsula. Last time, when I went to see the sea monkeys in Maizuru, I stayed at Miyazu Royal Hotel because I thought staying at a business hotel would be boring, but it was far from the station so I didn't get to experience much of Miyazu. This time, another client from Miyazu appeared, so I decided to stay in the city. I chose Seikiro, a ryokan, because I've been tired of business hotels lately. Since the meals at Seikiro were expensive, I decided to stay without meals. I was recommended a nearby restaurant called Zen, where I tried gudgeon and other local fish dishes to experience the deliciousness of Miyazu's fish. It was affordable. When I asked about snow crabs, they told me it's not the season yet, so I decided to come back in November to enjoy some crabs.

[Overall] - A popular restaurant with locals. - The counter is almost full on weekday nights, with only one table left, quite busy. It's recommended to call ahead. - You can enjoy a variety of dishes from fresh local fish to izakaya menus. - The portion sizes are small, with elegant seasoning. - Everything you eat is delicious. The sashimi was fresh with no fishy smell. - The rice dishes are simple, like onigiri, ochazuke, and udon/soba, with fewer B-grade izakaya menu items like fried rice. - The bright and clean interior. - There are 4 counter seats and 4 sunken kotatsu seats. - With only 2 staff members, the service is quite slow but polite and pleasant. - It's satisfying to eat delicious seafood here, not just touristy seafood. The portions are small, but it was good to try a variety of dishes. [Dishes] "Salt-grilled Tai from Itoyori" (600 yen including tax) 4.2 - Seasonal menu - A very impressive grilled fish with a perfect sear. - The meat part is not too much, so it's a bit challenging to eat. But the meat is packed with flavor, tender and delicious. "Octopus Karaage" (800 yen including tax) 4.1 - Made with fresh octopus, juicy and no fishy smell. - Served with matcha salt and dashi-based dipping sauce. - The batter is thin and crispy. - The thinly sliced octopus makes it more like a high-quality tempura dish than regular karaage. "Sashimi Assortment" (from 1000 yen including tax) 4.0 - Includes sweet shrimp, amberjack, squid, octopus, and cutlassfish. - The squid is tender and sweet. - The cutlassfish is transparent, with a great texture. - Overall, the sashimi is thinly sliced but very fresh and delicious, better than what you'd find in a typical izakaya in Tokyo. "Seafood Bowl" (900 yen including tax) 4.0 - Comes with pickles. - Similar ingredients to the sashimi assortment. - Topped with fine seaweed strips, giving it an elegant touch. - The rice is tasty, and while it's not a hearty fisherman's meal, it's a satisfying seafood bowl. "Onigiri" (450 yen including tax) 4.0 - Comes in plum and kombu flavors with a side of pickles. - Larger in size than expected. - Well-seasoned with salt, bringing out the delicious rice flavor. - A pleasant surprise to receive a well-made and tasty onigiri. "Kappa Maki" (200 yen including tax) 4.0 - Simple but delicious with seaweed, rice, and cucumber. - Much tastier than the kappa maki at conveyor belt sushi places.

I had a quick business trip to Kyoto from my hometown of Fukushima (Koriyama) and it feels colder here. At night, I was recommended to visit a restaurant called "Zen" by the locals. It has a traditional Japanese atmosphere and feels very clean. We enjoyed fresh sashimi, fried food, crab, salad, and everything was delicious. We ate and drank to our heart's content with a group of 6 people and were in a great mood. The taste is different from East Japan, but I like both styles. The subtle and elegant flavor may be due to the location and atmosphere of Kyoto. I felt a little tipsy and went to bed feeling great. Kyoto, the ancient capital, is truly a wonderful place. ❤

When I visited Miyazu last month, it was my first time at this restaurant. It was located in a residential area in a drinking street near the national highway heading from Miyazu Station. The storefront was clean and welcoming. The interior of the restaurant was calm with a wood-based design. There were about 10 counter seats and three table seats. The menu was extensive, with a wide variety of alcohol including shochu and sake. We ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious. The steamed hot pot dish was especially amazing. I would love to visit again when I go back to Miyazu.

Continuing from last year, it's dinner during a trip. I think I ordered something similar to last year, but it felt more expensive. The sashimi didn't have the same impact as last year... I also felt like there was less of it, and the squid I was looking forward to wasn't as melt-in-your-mouth delicious as I had hoped. However, the dishes are still delicious, especially the ankake. If it were closer, I would definitely want to visit this restaurant more often.

The food was delicious and cheap! The sashimi platter with squid was excellent, and the octopus had a rich flavor that set it apart from the usual dishes. The chef personally checks each dish made with concentrated broth, making them even more delicious. Although I wish there were more types of sake, it was still about 30% cheaper compared to regular izakayas. I visited for dinner during a two-night stay and ended up going two days in a row unexpectedly. If I ever visit the area again, I will definitely go back.

It's quite a lonely night in Miyazu. A local friend introduced me to this restaurant. It's quite far, so I've been here twice since then. The first time was in December, where we had a course menu, and the second time was in June, where we ordered a la carte. I was very impressed with the first visit, so I invited my friends for the second visit. I didn't find many options I could eat during the second visit, but my friends seemed to enjoy it. The course menu was definitely worth it, and the quality was good. I think the menu was different due to the change in seasons. Since it's on the Japan Sea side, winter might be better. Although the category on Tabelog is listed as yakitori, there wasn't much yakitori, and the restaurant gives off a vibe of being a place to enjoy local seafood. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again when I stop by Miyazu.
