At the entrance of Chubosui Sake Brewery alley. Right here. Sushi restaurant. You can order from limited menus available for delivery from other shops. It's great because you can eat a variety of dishes. The salmon was delicious! They also had a variety of drinks.

In March to April, we will be running two serializations almost simultaneously: "2022 Meaty 30 Challenge" and "2022 Seafood 30 Challenge." The seafood series will not only focus on dishes where seafood is the main ingredient, but also on dishes where seafood plays a key role. The 30th challenge of the "2022 Seafood 30 Challenge" took place at Sushi Ootachigui-bu Ochan Fushimi Sake Kura Koji Branch in Fushimi Momoyama, Kyoto. We ordered the Hokkai! Seafood Bowl for 750 yen, and it was quite satisfying.

Located in a small alley in Fushimizu Sake Brewery, this sushi restaurant is one of a kind. After enjoying an 18-brew sake tasting set at the brewery, we decided to visit this place. They also offer all-you-can-eat sushi here. Today, we didn't opt for the all-you-can-eat option, but instead went for their affordable lunch specials:
- Assorted nigiri sushi (8 pieces) for 970 yen
- Bottle of Black Label beer for 572 yen
The tuna, sea bream, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, squid, and octopus were all fresh and delicious. Thank you for the meal! The all-you-can-eat option is available for 120 minutes with a separate charge for drinks at 6380 yen. I would like to try it next time. During lunchtime, their delivery menu offering a seafood bowl and miso soup set for 990 yen is a great deal.

When I visited after a long time, the person behind the counter was a senior lady. She may not look like a pro, but she made the sushi for me. You can get an idea of the taste from the photos. In short, the salmon, sea bream, etc. are not as fatty as those from typical izakayas. The squid was not tough and overall not bad. The miso soup had salmon and crab in it, which felt more like a sushi restaurant touch. The price is 1,080 yen excluding tax.

Fukusui Sake Brewery Alley is a theme park for sake in Japan. There are many food and drink stalls inside, and this particular shop is one of them. All the shops in Fukusui Sake Brewery Alley offer takeout delivery. This shop is located near the entrance from Nayamachi side. Despite being named "Standing Bar Section," there are chairs available. The staff consists of a young woman. Surprisingly, there is no lunch menu displayed, only hanging on the roof. I ordered a platter of 10 pieces of sushi. As other customers left, I was the only one there. The staff seemed busy, even though it was a slow time. The sushi rice was small and round in shape, cute to look at. It seemed like they made the size easy to eat as a sake pairing. The quality of the sushi was average. The shrimp was not well-prepared, with a rough surface and torn edges. The seaweed was bitter and not tasty. The green onions were good. The miso soup had a rich broth with chunks of yellowtail and salmon, making it quite strong in flavor. It was a good finish to the meal, but drinking it in between may dull the taste buds.

I felt like eating sushi and visited this place after a long time. 10 pieces for 2200 yen. The sushi pieces here are a bit small. One interesting thing was the abalone hidden under the salmon roe. The tuna had a nice amount of fat. That's about it. Oh, and it was funny how they included a small sake cup due to Kyoto's alcohol consumption regulations. It made me thirsty later on. It seems like they want you to drink beer.

The chef at the sushi restaurant changed again. I ordered a 10-piece lunch set from a young chef. There was a group of four customers before me, and he was making their orders. There was also a group of one man and a couple who were almost finished eating. It seemed like there were a lot of people drinking during lunchtime today. It took him 20 minutes to make just two plates for the group of four, and then they ordered four more plates. By the time my order was ready, it had been 45 minutes since I placed it. The total cost was 1058 yen.

My friends and I went to Ootchan in Fushimi, which is quite close to my house, because they wanted to eat sushi. Initially, we were excited because we heard they had an all-you-can-eat sushi option, but unfortunately, they had stopped offering it. We decided to stay and order individual items instead. The taste was just okay, not exceptional. Since the sushi wasn't rotating on a conveyor belt, it was a bit disappointing compared to our expectations. The restaurant is located in a corner of a small alley, so it doesn't have a very calming atmosphere. It might be a good place for locals to have a casual drink. Thank you for the meal.

At the end of last year, I went to a nearby restaurant with a young person, but it was full so we ended up eating here. The head chef who was there at the grand opening is no longer there, and now it's a different chef. The young person had tea, and I had sake to start. We had small portions of dishes like iron skewers and cloud eggs. The sashimi platter had a mix of farmed and thawed fish, and even the abalone was very small. The sushi was an assortment of eight pieces. I requested salmon roe, but it was not the best quality. Overall, the prices were cheap, but considering the quality of the ingredients, it felt a bit expensive. Also, the service was slow.

I dropped by on Saturday afternoon. Oh, they don't have cheap lunch options. So, I ordered the same 10 pieces for 2000 yen as in the evening. It's not as lively here as it is at night. The tuna, sea bream, they're delicious. The salmon isn't oily like the cheap ones. The salmon roe and sea urchin are skillfully shaped into small pieces. At night, they sometimes serve abalone with sudachi. This day's selection felt a bit lacking in luxury. Excluding tax.

Although we entered the restaurant just one hour before closing time, the staff efficiently served us and all the dishes we ordered were delicious.

The HP has not been updated, but it seems that the all-you-can-eat option has ended and they are now open all day. The sushi rice was a bit firm, and the default was "shari-sai." The omakase set of 12 pieces for 2,400 yen didn't really offer a sense of value. The classic tamagoyaki was also disappointing as they said they couldn't prepare it early enough.

Seventh installment of Kansai trip! We visited this restaurant on a holiday night with two people. Located about a 5-minute walk from Fushimi-Momoyama Station, this place is in Fushimi Sake Brewery Street, like a "drinker's alley" with various bars. The concept of "store" may not be suitable, as it is a small restaurant with less than 20 seats including counter and table seats. The main dish is of course sushi that can be ordered piece by piece, but they also have a variety of appetizers and sake menu. In fact, you can order delivery from other restaurants, so you won't have trouble finding snacks and drinks. My wife even ordered ramen as a finale (laughs). On this day, the recommended menu was a collaboration with a neighboring fried food shop, the "Negitoro Maki Tempura." Hmm, I think it would be better to eat Negitoro Maki and Tempura separately. The staff, including the owner, were polite and made the atmosphere comfortable! Thank you for the meal!

A popular sushi restaurant from Kobe is now in Fushimi! Located in the Sake Brewery Street, you can enjoy a wide variety of sake along with delicious sushi. They offer an all-you-can-eat option for 70 minutes at 3500 yen, or you can order sushi normally. Available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays starting from 4 pm. Last entry is at 9 pm, except on Fridays which is until 5:30 pm. Reservations are not accepted, so it's first-come, first-served for counter seats for 2 or more people. Unfortunately, due to Golden Week, the all-you-can-eat option was not available, so I opted for the 8-piece sushi set at 1800 yen which was still great value. The quality of the sushi was high with premium ingredients. I believe the all-you-can-eat option would have been even more satisfying. I will definitely come back for it next time!
