This is an Indian restaurant in Kanda that I often visit for lunch even after the outbreak of the coronavirus. The prices are reasonable (a set of 3 curries is 950 yen and comes with lassi or iced coffee), and everything I eat is delicious, so I'll give it a high rating overall. My favorite dish at this restaurant is the basmati rice. It goes perfectly with the light South Indian curry, and the harmony between them makes me thrilled every time I eat it. However, yesterday I forgot to say "with rice" when ordering... (I walked there in the rain, so I was quite shocked...) The default for the lunch curry set is naan, so those aiming for basmati rice should be careful.

Today I had work at Coredo Nihonbashi. Before that, let's have lunch. I had decided on this restaurant in advance through research. It's Beans on Beans, a South Indian cuisine restaurant. When I entered, a handsome man (probably the owner) gave me a nice smile. Wow, I want to have a face like his! I fell in love at first sight, and took a seat. Looking at the menu, I chose the B set with 3 types of curry (Chicken Lemon, Scallop Curry, 5 Bean Curry) and lassi. It was 1050 yen, quite cheap. The Chicken Lemon is a classic chicken curry with a refreshing lemon acidity that gives it a light overall taste. The Scallop Curry has a rich flavor with the umami of scallops packed in. The Bean Curry has a smooth finish, highlighting the spice aroma. This is also very good. I didn't specify Naan or Rice, and Naan was served. I prefer rice, but this Naan was very light with just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious. I mentioned it to the staff and they kindly brought me a little Basmati rice in a bowl. Hmm, very satisfied. When I thanked the handsome owner at the payment, he gave me that nice smile again. Thank you, I will become a man who can smile like that too. Thank you for the meal. I will come again.

Arrived at 13:15. Ordered the Biryani (1,200 yen) with extra serving. When I asked the female staff how much the extra serving would cost, she said it would be 100 yen. I decided to try the clam curry as a side. The restaurant had accordion music playing in the background. The food arrived. I was nervous when I saw the meat. But when I tasted it, I realized it was beef, not mutton. I tried the Biryani and noticed it wasn't as spicy or flavorful as I expected. It did have a hint of lemon in it though. The clam curry had a strong clam flavor but was mild overall. The raita was delicious with a slightly sweet yogurt flavor. The restaurant had a few customers coming in around 14:00, so it seems to be popular. When I went to pay, the Indian man said it was 1,200 yen. I reminded him about the extra serving, but he insisted it was okay. Overall, I found the Biryani to be too mild for my taste, but I enjoyed the friendly service from the female staff. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing my errands in Kanda, I visited Beans on Beans, a South Indian restaurant that I had been curious about. I arrived around 11:30 am, just a short walk from the main street, about 20 meters down a side road. The sign made it easy to find. I ordered the C set lunch special, which included three types of curry and tandoori chicken. It also came with a soft drink for 1150 yen, which was quite affordable. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter and could see into the kitchen. The food arrived in less than 5 minutes. While the flavors didn't surprise me as I have been trying various South Indian curries recently, they were still delicious. The tandoori chicken seemed a bit small but had a strong, rich flavor. You can ask for seconds of naan, but be careful as it's served piping hot. The restaurant quickly filled up with office workers and OLs, many of whom seemed to be regulars chatting with the friendly staff. The service and atmosphere were great. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious for a while, and finally visited for lunch! I chose the "South Indian Meals" and was able to try all four curries of the day by selecting two different ones from my companion. The clam curry was unexpectedly delicious! The mutton was tender and flavorful! The chicken keema and bean curry were also incredibly tasty, so I was satisfied no matter which one I chose. Thanks to my companion, I was able to try them all, which was great. For drinks, you can choose between coffee and lassi, and I chose lassi without hesitation! Rice and naan are refillable, and the staff will offer more naan without you having to ask, and they also make sure your water glass is always full. The service was excellent! The optional spicy seasoning was also refreshing and enjoyable. I'm very curious about going back for dinner - but first, I think I'll revisit for lunch! It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Even during busy lunch times, the cozy atmosphere remains unchanged at this "proper" Indian restaurant where you can easily enjoy dishes like Biryani and Dosa. Today's lineup includes Keema Chicken, Pepper Mutton, Clam Curry, and 5 Bean Curry. I chose Mutton and Beans for the South Indian meal (2 curries, Rasam, Sambar, Poriyal, Papad, Roti, and a soft drink included). The plate was easy to eat and satisfying, with no extreme differences in flavor or intensity.

I ordered a course on the same day. It started with a homemade coconut salad served on a banana peel plate. I enjoyed two types of curry with rice, and mixing them on top of the banana plate created a delicious combination of flavors. I will definitely go back again!

The interior of the restaurant was not Indian-style, but more like a mountain hut? The menu was a bit confusing, but I chose two types of curry (shrimp and chicken) and placed my order. I usually prefer Western-style curry, so I was a bit hesitant... The rice was completely different, but it was delicious. The chutney-like spices were spicy! The menu mentioned cheese naan, but it wasn't included this time. I'll have to try it next time. Thank you for the meal.

I chose the Coconut Mutton Biryani for 1200 yen. For my drink, I chose a lassi. When the biryani arrived, I was surprised by the generous portion. The long-grain rice was fluffy and light. Mixing in the mutton curry allowed the flavors to spread throughout the rice. Adding a bit of sour cream balanced out the spiciness. Despite the large portion, the delicious flavors kept me going. The lassi was not too sweet, with a pleasant tanginess.

"Beans on Beans" offers a flavorful experience of South Indian cuisine that you won't forget once you visit. The curry, where fragrant spices and fresh vegetables blend perfectly, spreads a deep richness and flavor in your mouth, leaving a pleasant spiciness lingering. In particular, the lentil curry has a satisfying taste with the perfect match of bean flavor and gentle spices. When enjoyed with lightly toasted naan, the flavor is enhanced even more. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm, and the staff is warm and attentive. It feels like you have visited South India, with deliciousness and experience waiting for you here.

A friend told me they wanted to try South Indian cuisine, so I took them to Beans on Beans. It was our first time visiting this restaurant, but we felt welcomed right away by the friendly atmosphere and staff. The restaurant is vegan-friendly with a variety of healthy menu options. We started with Assorted, a South Indian appetizer. It had a crispy texture and flavorful spices. For our main dishes, we shared Masala Dosa and Vegetable Curry. The Masala Dosa had a crispy outer layer and a soft inside with delicious potato masala filling. The Vegetable Curry was packed with fresh vegetables, allowing us to taste the natural flavors. We could also choose the level of spiciness, which was adjusted to our liking. The restaurant also offered vegan desserts, so we tried the Coconut Milk Pudding. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and was a great way to end the meal. The staff was very kind and provided excellent service. We were impressed by the new discovery of South Indian cuisine and the vegan-friendly menu. We definitely want to come back to this restaurant.

This time, I tried the C set with three types of curry and tandoori chicken. If you don't specify, the default seems to be naan instead of rice. I chose butter chicken, herb mutton, and scallop curry. They were all on the milder side. I wish there was at least one curry that was more spicy. The herb mutton had a stylish flavor that didn't feel very Indian. The naan was thin and crispy. Personally, I prefer soft and chewy naan, so I was a bit disappointed. Maybe rice would be better. The tandoori chicken was surprisingly small. It could do without it. I rated it slightly lower this time because the previous experience was so good. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch! I noticed there were a lot of male customers, and then I found out that you can have unlimited refills of naan bread! The staff came around asking, "Would you like some more naan?" I couldn't resist and got just half more, but ended up getting really full! The freshly baked naan was so delicious and hot. Thank you for the meal!

It was my first time trying South Indian cuisine, but it turned out to be Indian curry. I ordered a set with Tandoori Chicken, three types of curry, and naan. The curries were Oyster, Coconut Chicken, and Pepper Mutton, and they were all delicious. I don't usually go to curry restaurants, so I had never tried Oyster curry before, but it had a deep and flavorful taste.

Used for a workplace drinking party. The course costs 5000 yen with all-you-can-drink. The all-you-can-drink includes one craft beer per person, either Spring Valley's berry flavor or Brooklyn Lager. I chose the berry flavor, which was great for toasting. The course dishes came out at a good pace. The coconut salad was refreshing and not too Indian in flavor. The Masala Papad with vegetables on top of papad (Indian crackers) was healthy and light. Just when I thought it was getting too healthy, Tandoori chicken, fish, and a cheese sandwich came out, boosting my excitement. Then a South Indian-style dosa was served, followed by curry and biryani, filling us up with Indian-inspired dishes towards the end. They even provided naan for the curry. The course dishes were very satisfying, and a friendly woman served us throughout. One of the participants forgot something, but the staff called immediately and waited outside with the item. Such wonderful service. Thank you for the great party!

There was a sign that said "South Indian cuisine" at the corner of a small alley where Honseki Tei and Curd Sack are located. I was craving curry, so I decided to go in. It seemed to be a popular place as the restaurant was full of nearby businessmen. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was able to sit down. I was interested in the South Indian meals, but since I wanted curry, I ordered the "A set with 2 types of curry" (950 yen) with naan. I chose butter chicken curry and scallop curry. Although South India originally serves rice, I wanted to have naan. A simple plate arrived with shiny naan, curry, and salad. It had been a while since I had proper naan, and it really tasted different. I personally love the cheese-like flavor. The scallop curry was a seafood curry with a hint of spiciness. The butter chicken curry was a more common, easy-to-eat curry. The curry was a type that would appeal to everyone. The restaurant turns into a bar at night, so I would like to come back to try their meals.

A restaurant near Kanda and Nihonbashi serving Indian cuisine. The staff mostly look Indian, but the interior has a more casual cafe vibe rather than a typical Indian restaurant feel. I ordered the B set for 1050 yen where you can choose 3 out of 4 curry options - I chose mutton, oyster, and bean curry. I also wanted to try the coconut chicken that I missed out on. It was a luxurious experience being able to enjoy meat, seafood, and vegetables. My favorite was probably the mutton curry. It was well-spiced, flavorful, and the meat was cut into large pieces giving it a satisfying texture. The default option was naan, but for an extra 100 yen, you could add honey topping. I was tempted but opted for rice that day. The long, slightly chewy Indian rice went well with all the curries. The papadum, an Indian crispy snack, was included and had a nice balance of crispy and chewy parts, offering a variety of textures. The drink options included hot tea and a choice between lassi or iced coffee, which is especially nice in the cold winter. I would like to try their biryani and dosa, typical of South India, so I plan to visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I recently got hooked on South Indian curry restaurants, so I decided to visit this one. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious and bright, which is nice. The ingredients lined up on the banana leaf are also stylish and exciting. With so much food, I'm already full. I'm satisfied. Thank you for the meal. Nihonbashi, Kanda Curry Exploration Series - Lunch at 9 companies. I walked with my former boss after a long time. The original Chinese restaurant we planned to go to was closed, so we thought of this place instead. Curry, huh. And it seems to be authentic. I don't know much about curry, but with limited time, I checked Tabelog and a word caught my attention: Biryani (mixed rice) 1,200 yen. While the lunch sets A and B allow you to choose 2-3 types of curry, I found Biryani intriguing. Is the curry mixed with rice? You can choose from Chicken Veggie, Mushroom Mutton, Swordfish, and Satsuma Sweet Potato Autumn Curry. Since I chose a different type of rice, I opted for the standard Chicken Veggie curry. Here it comes. First, what is Biryani? It's thin and long, almost longer than the Thai rice I had when there was a shortage of rice. It has a faint yellowish color. How does it taste? Well, it has a subtle flavor, but it seems like it's not meant to be eaten alone. So, I tried it with the Chicken Veggie curry. It's not too thick, and even a pure Japanese like me found it easy to eat and delicious. However, I might be the only one feeling this. The curry sauce seemed to be less compared to the amount of rice. I felt this vaguely at first glance. For those who want more sauce with their rice, it might be a concern. So, I tried adding a tangy dressing, wondering if it was for salad or part of the curry. It was actually a good combination, but for a beginner like me who's not particularly fond of Biryani, I think it's better to stick with the standard set for the first time trying curry.

29th stamp rally at the Kanda Curry Grand Prix. A South Indian restaurant near Kanda Station. Last year, I only had one type of curry for takeout, so this year I went to eat in for a meal set. ★Entrance time◎ Before 8 pm on weekdays, we were seated immediately as the only customers. Even though there were two of us, we were guided to a spacious table. ★What I ordered this time◎ South Indian meal set 1870 yen◎ Hot chai 440 yen★Spiciness★★★☆☆Moderate spiciness The meal set includes the basic sambar, rasam, and a choice of two curries from four daily options. It also comes with tandoori chicken, achar, and raita. The rice is basmati rice, which is a nice touch. Break the papad into small pieces, mix it with rice and curry. The curries I chose were sweet potato curry and mackerel curry. I asked the staff for a milder option, and it was very delicious. I especially enjoyed the slightly spicy rasam and had seconds. It's slightly spicy but very tasty. The tandoori chicken was tender and delicious. I ordered hot chai after the meal. They brewed it in the authentic way, pouring it into the cup from a high position 2 or 3 times. This method supposedly makes the flavor milder, and indeed it was smooth. The staff was very friendly. I would love to go back for the meal set again. Thank you for the meal~

【Visit Time】Visited around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday 【Atmosphere】It was somewhat crowded for a late lunch time, but the atmosphere was bright and welcoming, making it easy for solo diners to come in. 【Food】Ordered the Banana Leaf Meals for 2,200 yen, which includes 5 types of curries and biryanis. You can also get a refill of Basmati rice, so it's quite filling. 【Service】The Japanese female staff member was polite and provided detailed explanations, making it a comfortable experience for first-time diners of South Indian cuisine.
