The terrine assortment was delicious. The paella was a bit salty. The prices seemed a bit high considering the portion size and location. Overall, I think it's a good place to enjoy as a snack with cider or wine, rather than a full meal.

A while ago (last December), I searched on Tabelog for a place to have dinner during my trip to Kyoto and fell in love with the beautiful terrine at the Spanish bar "Sidra." I made an early reservation and although it was during the national discount period, there were few customers and the downstairs area was not open. I was disappointed that they weren't doing the coin-operated wine bar that I wanted to try. They kindly served us a half portion of the terrine and cut it into pieces for two, which made it easier for us to eat. The service was excellent. The atmosphere at the counter was nice, and it was a lovely bar.

Oh, it's been a while since I last visited this place! I used to come here often when it first opened. The staff remembered me, which was nice! The variety of terrines here is still amazing. I paired it with some cider. The autumn salmon and shirako ajillo were also delicious. We leisurely enjoyed the menu items in the basement. We visited this place as our first stop before going for yakiniku, so we kept it light this time, but I definitely want to come back for a hearty meal next time!

-Basque Cheesecake
-Chocolat Terrine
We stopped by this second restaurant on a whim. The interior is small, with only counter seats available. Spanish radio was playing, creating a local atmosphere as if you were in Spain. The Basque cheesecake was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal! ✨

I passed by this restaurant that caught my eye. At first glance, it looks like there are only a few counter seats, but if you go downstairs, it's spacious with table seating. Downstairs, there is a machine where you can insert coins and press a button for a 100ml glass of the wine you want, and there is a big projector playing foreign films creating a great atmosphere. By the way, there are 10 coins provided at each table, and they count the remaining coins to calculate how many glasses you had. It's 600 yen per coin. I saw colorful terrines on Tabelog, so I ordered that for starters. - Today's Terrine 4 types (half) To put it simply, 1. Chunky vegetable + Genovese sauce 2. Mille-feuille of potatoes and eggs 3. Pound cake version of side dishes 4. Ratatouille The flavors were like that. Personally, I liked 2 the best. - Mussels steamed in white wine → So delicious. Please also drink the soup. - Squid ink paella → Delicious with lots of squid. - Chicken wings → Delicious! Slightly spicy. - Prosciutto → A firmer type. Everything was delicious but slightly on the expensive side. The atmosphere is also nice, so I recommend it for dates or girls' night out!

I went with a friend and we were seated at a spacious table in the basement. We ended up staying for almost 3 hours because the atmosphere was chic and comfortable. We ordered potato salad with ham, a mix of 4 terrines, garlic shrimp, cheese platter, meat pate, squid ink paella, and chocolate terrine. The potato salad, garlic shrimp, and paella were particularly delicious. The potato salad was addictive with the ham, the garlic shrimp had a rich flavor especially the mussels, and the squid ink paella was surprisingly black and tasty. We also enjoyed a glass of white wine and shared a bottle of beer, spending around 5000 yen each. Overall, it was a satisfying experience with both stylish ambiance and delicious food. Thank you for the great meal!

I was able to come back to a restaurant I used to frequent and wanted to visit again after a long time!! I went in the evening, so I was able to relax almost privately (^^) It was fun to be able to choose my own drink easily since it was self-service! I had the impression that the carpaccio was delicious from the party menu, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. However, I really liked the variety of terrines that I could order in half sizes! The chicken terrine had a firm texture and delicious flavor, it was the best ✨ The squid ink paella and meatballs were also delicious~ I want to go back again soon (^^)

I was expecting the pate, but it didn't suit my taste. The mushroom pate was delicious. We couldn't see the showcase from our table, which was a bit of a disadvantage. We also had wine and sherry. For the price, it was okay. Not really a place for a romantic evening.

Salad lunch (chicken) for 1,000 yen (tax included). The soup was full of ingredients. The salad had a lot of volume, with about 10 different types of vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Both the aroma and taste were enjoyable and satisfying. The chicken portion was generous, and I felt quite full afterwards. I also feel like I got a good amount of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

I stayed in Kyoto for one night and two days. The main purpose was to eat porridge at Hyotei. Instead of waking up early and heading straight to Hyotei from Nishinomiya, I decided to spend the previous day visiting shrines and temples, sightseeing in Kyoto, and staying at a business hotel or city hotel near Hyotei without meals, so that I could relax and enjoy my meal at Hyotei. I had lunch the day before and planned to bring something back to the hotel for dinner (I decided on a sandwich or sushi), so I thought about what else I could eat the next morning that was different. I realized that I hadn't had Spanish food in a long time, so I suggested it to my partner, and we agreed, so we made a reservation and went out. I ordered the Sidra course (2,500 yen) in advance. The contents are as follows: - Terrine of Escalivada (grilled vegetables) - Garlic Shrimp and Mushroom Ajillo - Bread - Chicken thigh meat Jikilo (teriyaki style) - Seafood Paella I enjoyed the meal, which included a lot of vegetables and had a beautiful presentation. The garlic in the Ajillo was plentiful, and the chicken dish had a somewhat Japanese twist. The Paella was flavorful with the essence of seafood soaked into the rice. I was satisfied with the portion and taste of the meal. There was no dessert included in the lunch course, but I was already satisfied. I opted for a ginger ale instead of alcohol due to the state of emergency. The restaurant had a small counter on the first floor and table seats in the basement. A projector screen on the wall was quietly playing the musical movie "Mamma Mia" starring Meryl Streep. It brought back nostalgic memories of watching the movie at home with my partner a long time ago. The melody of the song "Dancing Queen" by ABBA was still enjoyable to listen to.

I used my Tabelog points and found a Spanish restaurant in Kyoto that also has a sister store. We sat at a table as the counter was already full. The drinks are self-service with a coin-operated system, offering bottled beer and more. We ordered the Terrine Assortment as it seemed to be a popular choice. We also tried a variety of other appetizers, all of which were delicious. The Spanish dishes here are not too heavy in flavor, which we appreciated. My partner also highly rated the food. If you want to see a variety of appetizers, sitting at the counter might be more enjoyable. We also ordered the famous Basque Cheesecake from the sister store, which was not too sweet and very tasty. Overall, this restaurant is recommended for a date night.

I visited around 7:30 pm on Friday. There were 3 customers at the counter.
- El Gaitero Glass 550 yen: A sweet cider that even those with a child's palate can enjoy.
- Terrine half-size assortment of 4 kinds 1300 yen:
- Escalivada: Clean and light taste, didn't seem delicious at first but strangely became tasty as I ate more.
- Chicken and mushrooms: Tasted just as I imagined from the appearance.
- Cake Sale Cheese: Smells like cheese. At first, it tasted familiar, but it became delicious as I ate more. Is it because it has depth?
- Country-style pate: No peculiar taste, very delicious.
- Arroz con Almejas (Spanish-style clam rice) 950 yen: Tasted just as it looked. Very delicious. The portion is small, so I would like to have more if it was a bit cheaper!

When I usually wander around in Kyoto, I often end up missing out on places and settling for whatever I find at night. But this time, I did some research and made a reservation because there was also Go TO. The reviews were good, so I made a reservation on the same day. There is a reasonably priced parking lot next to it in the central area of Kyoto. The entrance is on the first floor, with table seats in the basement. It seems like there is a DJ space downstairs, and it looks like you can even rent it out. Old movies are projected on the walls, and they will change it if you ask! The staff are also very kind!! The menu is simple, and honestly, people who don't know might wonder what kind of cuisine it is (I was the same, haha). Whatever you choose from the menu is delicious!! Especially the squid butter rice curry is the best! If you are interested, definitely check it out!! Sorry, I only have this photo. 😢

Spain Bar SidraKUMA Survey (Daily Use) (100: Excellent 80: Very Good 60: Good 50: Pass 40: Just Passed) ** Overall Rating 48/100 points
A Spanish bar with a great atmosphere! Perfect for a date or a small group outing!
During my stroll in Kyoto, it was time for a snack, so I decided to have a drink. I searched on Tabelog and found this place, "sidra," which had high ratings and seemed to suit my taste. The stylish interior with Spanish radio playing creates a neat and organized impression, with only a counter on the 1st floor (there is also a basement). It's perfect for a date or hanging out with a small group of friends. Since I wasn't very hungry, I ordered a beer, some appetizers (chicken wings), and a meal (Spicy Keema Rice). Both were above average in taste. Thank you for the meal.
------------Always Critical Detailed Evaluation-----------
** Usage Scene: Family? Couple ✔️ Solo ✔️ Banquet? Business? Evaluation pending as I didn't see the basement.
** Atmosphere & Service 50/100 points 10pt
- Storefront 5/10 points
- Interior 8/10 points
- Service 2/10 points
- Comfort 7/10 points
** Taste Evaluation 50/100 points 30pt
- Ordered Dishes: Spicy chicken wings ¥250 each ✅ Spicy Keema Rice ¥950 ✅ Beer ¥650 330ml bottle (Heartland)
- Total ¥2100 (tax included)
- Detailed Dish Evaluation:
Chicken Wings: Excellent - Very tender and easy to eat, although the spices didn't match perfectly. Overall, the taste is excellent.
Keema Curry: Pass - Lots of ground meat, Sichuan pepper, garlic, raw egg, almond chips, light on curry flavor, somewhat bland, meat feels dry. It's like a small portion of Keema curry in a rice bowl, which was just right for a snack.
** Cost Performance 40/100 points 8pt
- Chicken: Expensive due to small portion size. Maybe half the price would be more reasonable?
- Beer: Also expensive. Perhaps it's the norm for stylish places to be pricey for food and drinks, focusing more on providing a place for socializing. In terms of daily eating, the cost performance is tough. (Adjusted slightly as it was tax-included, making it slightly cheaper)
** Improvements & Suggestions
- Too many items not listed on the menu. Out of 4 rice menu options, only the ones I ordered were available.
- Please work on improving both the service and menu daily to create a better dining experience.

I spent two and a half hours for lunch at Kikunoi Honten, so I kept it light for dinner. This bar along the Kamogawa River, which is close to the hotel and I liked last time, was my choice. After temperature check and alcohol disinfection, I was guided to the underground area. The self-service wine purchased with coins seems to help reduce contact with others. The glass of wine seems to have decreased in quantity without a price increase. The Basque white wine (500 yen) was dry and satisfying. The 75ml glass is a bit small. They have bottles starting from 2800 yen, so I recommend getting a bottle. The food was excellent! The sidra set costs 2500 yen. The appetizer platter with 4 items was fantastic, especially the pickled pinchos. There was also a potato torta, meatballs, and what else? The shrimp and brown mushroom ajillo was delicious, with pancetta in addition to garlic. The lamb skewers were tender and surprising. The butter rice with squid ink sauce was unexpected but tasty. The Abilitibo is recommended as a dessert wine, but the course with all-you-can-drink option is also popular. Banquets may have to wait until after the pandemic, for now, I just want to support them with casual drinks.

I casually wandered into Higashiyama. Although it wasn't completely aimless, I had heard of this restaurant before. I ordered a platter of Trabancho and pinchos. Lately, I've stopped starting with beer, partly because I receive beer through my hometown tax contribution every month, and I'm starting to get tired of it. The platter I received included potato salad, olives, chorizo, pickles, and cheese, all of which were delicious. The portion was just right, and I ended up having two drinks before paying. It was under 3000 yen. It felt more like a second stop than a first. Next time, I want to try the terrine.

I made a reservation at "Spain Bar Sidra" and visited on a weekday night. Prices range from 550 yen for Pan con Tomate to 1000 yen for a Terrine platter. The quality of each dish is good, but the portion sizes are a bit small, so it may feel a bit pricey. The service and atmosphere are nice.

The taste was delicious but the customer service was terrible. There were two staff members, but both had a sour expression and didn't say a word from the moment we walked in. I will never go back again.

I participated in the Go To Eat campaign and found a fantastic terrine dish that I absolutely loved. The saltiness, broth, and wine flavor were just perfect. I discovered a wonderful restaurant to add to my list of favorites! Whether alone or with a friend, I can't wait to go back. I had sparkling wine and terrine.
