I arrived after walking from Nijo Station, relying on the map from Tabelog. It was really empty probably because it was a weekday. The food was delicious and very affordable, probably because it was run by regular people. The shrimp fry I ordered at the end was thick and absolutely delicious. Thank you for the meal. Currently enjoying at Yummy.

Recently, when it comes to a quick standing drink with delicious food, this place is becoming the top choice. And guess what, they have succeeded in upgrading to a touch panel system (sorry to the staff for the confusion haha). It may take some time for customers to get used to it, but please be patient. On this day, they had pike conger eel. Having pike conger eel is not unusual, but they offer a set where you can enjoy it grilled, simmered, and tempura style, all in one. It's amazing, right? The quality of the bluefin tuna is not standing drink level, and the grilled pork belly is only 220 yen, and you can have fried chicken and sushi for 2460 yen. It's too cheap. The quality is so good that you might suspect there's some trick to it. It's still under evaluation, but for now, it's the number one standing drink spot in Kyoto. It may be a bit hard to find, but not hard to enter. Highly recommended.

I had some shopping to do and was walking around when I ended up making a detour to BOND. It was a sunny day during Golden Week and I was feeling thirsty, so I couldn't resist stopping by. I've been to this shop a few times before, and I was surprised to see that they use a tablet system for ordering. It was convenient to be able to see my order history and payment information. I ordered a large draft beer, shimesaba (marinated mackerel), and ham cutlet, and the total came to 920 yen. I'm really glad this place is near my house. Thank you for the meal.

Come to Nishijin, it's a great place! On this day, I went on a solo drinking and eating tour in Nishijin. Chibon Street has some nice shops and is a recommended area. It's a bit hard to get there by train, but you can easily reach the standing bar "Bond" from the bus stop at Chibon Nakatate. This is one of the most popular spots in the area, with many people coming from outside the area to drink here! The shop is open from 10 am to 10 pm, showing their dedication. When I went for lunch, it was bustling with old men drinking since noon! I ordered the Kakiage Tower for 350 yen, which I had before and just had to get again. The size for the price is amazing. It makes you want to take a picture! Eating it alone fills you up quite a bit. I also had the Hanpa Maki for 450 yen. They have a variety of sushi available at reasonable prices. The Tofu Gratin for 350 yen is a cheesy gratin with lots of tofu, so it's healthier and less guilt-inducing. Since I was alone, I stopped here. By the way, a draft beer is only 270 yen, so I was surprised that the total bill was less than 1500 yen.

Oh, it's just too good so I keep coming back. BOND in Kyoto is a standing bar that isn't really advertised much, but it's highly recommended by locals. Even those who are picky about food to some extent would enjoy it. So, for those who know a lot about good food, standing bars may not be their first choice. However, you can understand that times have changed a bit, and there are places like BOND now. While there are quite a few of these in Osaka and Kobe, there aren't many standing bars of this level in Kyoto. On this day, they had homemade karasumi. It was amazing. It's a standing bar, so you just stand while you eat. It comes out with thick daikon radish, and the thickness is something you don't see every day. When you try it, it's a bit surprising, but in a good way, because of that homemade touch. It's priced around 800 yen, which is very reasonable for a BOND menu item. They also offer salt-grilled shrimp, either as sashimi or grilled with salt, which are essentially the same thing. It's a standing bar, so you just stand while you eat. The quality is really good. It's a hidden gem, with a laid-back atmosphere and a friendly vibe, mainly attracting local standing bar enthusiasts. The ambiance is great, and both the customers and the staff are not pushy, which is a unique feature. It's a place where you can feel comfortable. Even gourmets should give it a try. Highly recommended!

I went to BOND for the first time in a while. I had been cheating on it with standing bars, and had been neglecting it lately, so I completely forgot about the uniqueness of this place haha. The initial shock was the affordable prices, but now looking back, even though it may sound strange to say this, it's just normal. I do think it's cheap, but the shock factor that was present when they had just opened in Omiya is no longer there at any of their locations. However, this place surpasses the prices and quality of the early days of the standing bar trend. We had whelk (380 yen), shirako ponzu (500 yen), rapeseed flower tempura (180 yen), beer (270 yen), and sake (220 yen) for a total of 1550 yen. The fact that the unit price is absolutely cheap in standing bars is an essential factor that cannot be separated. It's also great that they are open from lunchtime, but if you can get decent food at a reasonable price in the city, you might not necessarily need the standing bar style. I think standing bars that incorporate a lot of entertainment value, surprises, and other elements are also great, but I feel like a style that simply pursues affordability and quality is gradually being accepted by standing bar enthusiasts. It may not be a place that people from other prefectures would normally visit, but I think it's worth a visit if you deliberately go there. Highly recommended~♪

On Saturday afternoon, my husband and I went to a standing bar. We arrived after 12 o'clock and it was our first visit. The place was very crowded, but we managed to find one table available. I had been wanting to go there for about 5-6 years, and finally, we made it. The fact that they had Sapporo Lager on the menu already made it a great place in my book. We started with a toast with Sapporo Lager, then enjoyed a sashimi platter (salmon, mackerel, tuna) and "drooling chicken". We then switched to sake and tried a few different kinds while indulging in dishes like fried tofu pizza, raw oysters with vinegar, grilled tuna collar, meat and tofu stew, and tempura tower. Everything was fresh, thick, and filling. From dishes that seem easy to make at home but are actually difficult, to unique dishes only found at the restaurant, we were completely satisfied and full. It was a standing bar with a warm atmosphere and international vibe, offering great value for money. Highly recommended, especially with the friendly female owner.

I went to Kyoto after a long time. This time, I was walking around this area where I don't often visit, and I decided to try this restaurant based on reviews. When I entered before noon, the restaurant had just opened and there were only a few customers. I was surprised to see someone already drinking and getting drunk so early! Probably a regular customer. (Their loud voice made them stand out.) (laughs) When I tried to order fried chicken, they said it wasn't ready yet, so I ended up ordering a mini seafood bowl with tuna and a draft beer. The tuna was so fatty and melted in my mouth, it was delicious. The mini seafood bowl was served in a really small bowl with a small amount of rice and about five types of sashimi on top - tuna, sea bream, salmon, marinated mackerel, etc. It was also delicious. I enjoyed the draft beer and left soon after eating and drinking, and the bill was just a little over 1000 yen! I was surprised! The menu was so extensive that I had trouble deciding what to order, but I'm glad I went because it was cheap, fast, and delicious. The restaurant had a few small tables and a counter, and since it was early and not crowded, the space felt spacious and comfortable. I wanted to try some sake next time. Thank you for the meal.

In September, for Premium Friday, I started with a quick drink at "Wappo Makino" located in Kyoto Central Wholesale Market for my first stop. Then, I headed to the popular standing bar "BOND" which opens at 10 am. It was a bit early, so I walked to the restaurant to kill time and work up an appetite. It took me about 45 minutes to walk there. The nearest station is Keifuku Kitano Line "Kitano Hakubaicho Station", but it's a similar distance from JR & Subway Tozai Line "Nijo Station". I passed by Nijo Station on the way, and it took me about 15 minutes to walk from there. The restaurant had an Italian vibe, not your typical standing bar look. Inside, there were standing drink counters and tables. I was the only one drinking alcohol at 10 am on a weekday, so I could stand wherever I wanted. For food, I started with a cold beer, Kirin Ichiban Shibori, priced at 270 yen. Then, I ordered some snacks to go with my drinks: - Potato Salad - Ark Shell Sashimi - Eel and Eggplant with Eel Sauce - Yoriko's Fried Chicken - Salmon Roe Soy Sauce Pickles I also tried different drinks like Highball, Beauty Man Sake, Kuro Kirishima Shochu on the rocks, and Kyoto's Hana Sake. In total, I spent 3840 yen, which I found to be quite reasonable for the quality and service. The food was decent, and the service from the staff, including a foreign employee who spoke fluent Japanese, was impressive.

I went out with a friend for a drink after visiting Kibune Shrine and found a lively place nearby filled with college students and local men. We ordered red snapper head soup and conger eel tempura as snacks. Kyoto never fails to impress, even the standing bar menu includes conger eel.

I visited a standing bar near my home that I had been curious about since it opened. It's always busy and so close to home that I never had a chance to stop by, but by chance, I visited for the first time after my health check-up in the afternoon. It was a weekday lunchtime and there were a decent number of customers. I sat at the counter and started with a draft beer and marinated mackerel. The mackerel had a nice vinegar flavor, like "Kizushi," and the beer went down smoothly. I also had stewed dish, ham cutlet, and highball for seconds, and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

At the restaurant "Bond" in Kitano Shirakabecho, I had lunch. I had a meeting at lunchtime and decided to have lunch on the go. I found a standing bar called "Bond" nearby that was on my list of places to visit. Despite being a weekday lunchtime, I was the only one having lunch there, while others were just starting to enjoy their afternoon. The owner used to work at a standing bar called "Shomin," so the prices were very reasonable, with beer for 270 yen and shochu highball for 210 yen, and food starting from 100 yen. I resisted the urge to have a beer during the day and ordered the lunch menu instead. I had the seafood bowl set for 1000 yen, which was packed with botan shrimp, sea bream, minced tuna, yellowtail, and tuna. It also came with miso soup, two side dishes, and dessert, making it a great value for money. I was particularly impressed by the huge botan shrimp. I really wanted to have a beer. I initially planned to just have the seafood bowl, but I couldn't resist ordering the famous dish, the vegetable-packed tempura tower for 280 yen, served in a warm tempura broth. I really want to come back at night for a beer!

Well, the story returns to Kyoto as Imamura Corporation is left behind, and heading north towards Nijo Castle. You might think that this poor reviewer who doesn't use buses or taxis seems to be a cheapskate, but this is just a strategy to enjoy two things with one effort - sightseeing and health benefits through walking. However, after walking for almost an hour to reach this place, I was completely exhausted by the time I arrived. The place I arrived at is BOND007, a place that is cool and dandy like James Bond, which seems to suit me perfectly, although I don't attract women like Bond does. So, why did I come all the way here? Well, do commoners know about it? It seems that the owner of this shop used to work as a commoner and then decided to start their own place. As a specialist in standing bars, I couldn't miss visiting this place. When I arrived at the front of the shop, there were customers gathered around, so I thought it might be impossible to enter. But when I opened the left door and went inside, there was a counter seat available. A foreign male staff member came to take my order, so I started with a draft beer. After checking the menu posted on the wall, I chose a sashimi platter with sea bream. After a short wait, the sashimi arrived. The tuna sashimi was thickly sliced but had a fishy smell. The salmon and mackerel were average, while the sea bream was not fresh and lacked texture. I had high expectations coming here, but the sashimi was not satisfying. The noise level inside the shop was quite loud, probably due to the local regulars gathering there. With the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, it would be better if everyone could drink quietly. Overall, the sashimi and the noisy atmosphere did not quite suit the cool and dandy reviewer in me. However, the prices of beer and dishes were very cheap, so if this place was nearby, I might become a regular customer, who knows? In conclusion, I don't think I would walk all the way here again, so there will be no revisits. As I leave the shop and head towards Kawaramachi, that was the end of the experience.

The commoner's atmosphere has been completely erased, and the food and drinks are fantastic. On this day, a regular customer who is a celebrity came in, and it seems like the place has surpassed the commoners of Omiya. I hope they can stay in their current hidden gem position. Highly recommended!

I sometimes go to the standing bar BOND because I can drink during the day. When I go alone, I feel out of place, but when I have company, I can talk and don't feel bored. I enjoy talking to the staff and the people next to me at standing bars, so I get drunk quickly if I stay silent (laughs). I recommend trying the chicken Karaage here! You must eat it.

When it comes to popular standing bars in Kyoto, "Shomin" is the first place that comes to mind. This popular spot near Shijo Omiya Station has also expanded to Osaka-Kyobashi. One of the staff members from that popular establishment opened a new place called "BOND" in Kyoto's Kitano Shirakumemachi in January 2016! We used it as our first stop for a night of drinking in Kyoto! The restaurant is located about 1 kilometer from Kitano Shirakumemachi Station, a bit further from Nijo Castle and not easily accessible without transportation. Perhaps because of its location, the clientele seems to be mostly locals. The interior is quite spacious, with counter seats and several round table seats. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, with customers constantly coming in, showing just how popular it is. I was surprised when I saw the drink menu! Draft beer and highballs are 240 yen. Chuhai cocktails are also priced at 190 yen, which is incredibly cheap! The food prices are also very affordable, with dishes starting from 150 yen. Sashimi starts at 240 yen, and a sashimi platter with three kinds of fish is only 490 yen, a great deal. We ordered the sashimi platter to start, along with a beer toast. The platter included tuna, salmon, and marinated mackerel, all of which were surprisingly thick slices for the price. Next, we tried the "hamo" three-item platter, which included deep-fried hamo, seared hamo, and boiled hamo, all for 550 yen. This seasonal limited menu item was a luxurious assortment at a great price. We also ordered a yellowtail sashimi for 240 yen. The slices were just as thick and delicious as the previous dishes. We also tried the chicken tempura for 180 yen, which had a slightly smaller portion but was still tasty. All the dishes were delicious, and the prices were unbelievably affordable. Despite its somewhat inconvenient location, the restaurant was busy with customers coming in throughout the night. Depending on the time, there might even be a line like at "Shomin." But with such quality and cost-effectiveness, it's worth waiting for. If you have the chance to stop by, I highly recommend giving it a try!

A popular standing bar izakaya called "Shomin" in Shijo Omiya, where a person who used to work there has opened their own shop. I had been hearing about it and was interested, but it's a 30-minute bus ride from Kyoto Station. By chance, I had some business in Kamigyo Ward, and when I suggested to a reviewer friend if we could have a daytime drink around Kyoto Station, they agreed to make time. We were initially aiming for "Hyotan" or "Henkutsu" around Kyoto Station, but the level of weirdness at Henkutsu has increased lately, so we changed our plans. What about BOND? When I looked it up, it was only a 10-minute walk from where I needed to be! We agreed to meet at the shop. When I arrived, it was a standing-only bar. We secured a table at the back and ordered a lemon sour, which was only 190 yen! While sipping on our drinks, my friend arrived. It was a reunion after 5 years since the legendary Kourien Sachiko Sushi Off-Meet. I had already eaten, so I had seasoned quail, while my friend, who missed lunch, had a hamburger for 300 yen. The taste was delicious and the cost performance was great. We also ordered a mini bottle of Dassai Sparkling sake, which we enjoyed as a chaser for our sours. The conversation flowed, covering writing, events, cooking in business hotels, and we kept ordering more sours. Before we knew it, we had been standing for 2 and a half hours. The bill came to 3,650 yen for the two of us. We had a great time drinking!

I went after a long time and they were having a half-price promotion at Senkyuzo. So today, I focused on Senkyuzo. The simmered taro and squid dish is delicious, with the squid broth seeping into the taro making it really tasty. It goes well with sake! Also, I tried the fried squid for the first time and it was a hit. I was a bit skeptical about fried squid as it can often be tough, but this one was fluffy and juicy, perfect with beer! I had a full night of drinking at the second place for just a little over 2,000 yen. It's truly a wonderful restaurant. I enjoyed the delicious food. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from Tenjin, I felt like eating sashimi again, so I came back here. The sashimi here is really delicious. It's on par with the sashimi I had in Sapporo. It's worth stopping by just to eat this. Oh, I added yellowtail to the sashimi trio.

No, no. This restaurant is really delicious and fun. This time, I had freshly fried satsuma-age, and last time I was satisfied with the sashimi and kakiage tower. The satsuma-age was recommended by the old man drinking next to me, and it was delicious. The kakiage tower is indeed a tower. It was crispy inside with sweet potatoes and onions. It was not greasy and even though it was the last thing we ordered, we finished it in no time. The deep-fried garlic and Thai tea pickles were also wonderful. This restaurant is flawless.
