I used the terrace seats for lunch, but it was too hot so we ate inside. The lunch menu was delicious, but the cheesecake was incredibly tasty. There is always a long line and it's a very popular restaurant.

I made a reservation for Saturday night! The atmosphere was casual, all the dishes were delicious, and the staff was friendly, so I had a great time ☺️ The portions were generous and the cost performance was excellent ✨ The Basque cheesecake was rich and very tasty. I will definitely go again!

A local recommended this restaurant to me and we had a great time drinking together, but we forgot to take photos. The terrace seats seemed to be designed for couples to show off. It takes a lot of courage to sit there for an old man. The restaurant has stylish waiters who resemble a younger version of Lily Franky, and a tiny waiter who looks like a model.

This time, I was taken to this restaurant by a friend who wanted to go. We ordered: - Chorizo Burger - Basque Cheesecake - Café con Leche (Café Latte) First, the burger had a strong salty flavor from the salami. It was thick but easy to eat as a whole except for the lettuce. The patty is made with 100% beef without any fillers, but I couldn't taste much flavor in it, which was a bit disappointing. The fries came in a generous portion, which I liked, and they were tasty with just the right amount of salt. However, they tasted similar to seasoned fries you can make at home, so I wish they had a bit more of a premium feel. My friend ordered the roast chicken, which came in a quite large portion. They felt the salad was a bit lacking, but overall, they were satisfied with the portion size for the price. Next, the dessert. The Basque Cheesecake seemed to be very popular as almost everyone in the restaurant was having it. The texture inside was creamy and had a great mouthfeel. However, I didn't feel the cheesiness or the baked flavor as much as I expected. It tasted like a very normal cheesecake, recommended for those who prefer a simple taste over a rich one. The Café Latte had a slightly tangy taste, not the typical dark roasted espresso flavor. It was quite refreshing. Overall, everything had a balanced flavor profile, not too strong in any aspect, making it enjoyable. I was a bit worried about the reviews mentioning the staff being a bit unfriendly, but the service felt like that of a small, independently-owned business, so it didn't bother me much. If you prefer to be served with a big smile and high satisfaction, this might not be the place for you. I personally liked the consistent atmosphere and found the service to be pleasant.

I ordered a course meal that looked stylish but didn't taste very delicious, maybe because it was Spanish cuisine. When I entered the restaurant, I was not guided to my table even though they saw me, so I had to go to the back of the restaurant and call a staff member to be seated. Some tables had water served when seated, but mine did not. When I looked at the menu, it didn't specify whether the drinks were hot or iced, so I assumed the oolong tea I ordered would be iced, but it came hot. I think this was a mistake in the explanation by the female staff member, or they should specify in the menu. I thought the service was a bit disappointing.

I had a lunch course for 2500 yen with a coupon from Tabelog. The grilled beef harami had a good chewy texture and a nice saltiness from the sea salt, giving it a grilled steak-like flavor. The seafood paella had a rich seafood broth and a creamy and flavorful squid ink sauce, which was so delicious that I finished it in no time. The melting cheese cake lived up to its name, melting in your mouth. It had a unique taste where the sides that were baked tasted like a baked cheese cake, giving you the experience of both a creamy cheese cake and a baked cheese cake in one. I was very satisfied with the lunch course, which had great value for money.

First visit. I had the weekend lunch course (2500 yen) with wine. When I arrived at 12:30, there was a long line in front of the restaurant. It might be essential to make a reservation. The presentation of the appetizers like prosciutto and assorted dishes was unique! The beef harami steak was generous and satisfying. The famous cheesecake was also included in the set. The entrance of the restaurant is quite open, with a counter that feels like a terrace seat. It's perfect for enjoying wine during lunch on a sunny day.

The dishes are designed in a stylish and exciting way! The plates are also unique! The taste is also very delicious, and I definitely want to go back to eat again. The squid ink sauce on the risotto was incredibly tasty, and it allowed me to appreciate the goodness of squid ink!

The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. They also pay attention to the presentation of the dishes. It's a good place for a date or entertaining friends. However, I felt that the pace of serving the food was a bit slow. I had made a reservation so I could enter the restaurant smoothly and enjoy my meal, but there were a lot of customers waiting outside, which made me feel a little sorry for them.

This is a Spanish restaurant famous for its Basque cheesecake. The interior of the restaurant is subcultural and stylish. The Basque cheesecake looks cute on the plate and tastes delicious with its melting cheese and perfect sweetness.

I went there for the cheesecake, but the paella was a bit watery and different from the usual paella, which was interesting. It was still delicious. The salad had a lot of cheese on top and was delicious. I think it's a must-visit for cheese lovers.

Gastromesón Chuleta @ Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture ----------------------------------- - Melting Cheese Cake ¥500 - Cafe con Leche ¥600 - Royal Milk Tea ¥600 ----------------------------------- A Spanish bar located in Gion Shijo. The highlight of the day was the cheesecake! I arrived around 2 pm on the day before a holiday Sunday, and there was a long line in front of the store. After waiting for about an hour and a half, I finally got inside. The cheesecake I was looking for had a cute, round shape. As the name suggests, it melts from the center when you put a fork into it. It was extremely rich, not too sweet, and you could clearly taste the cheese flavor. It was delicious! And all of this for ¥500 is a steal! I highly recommend it to all cheesecake lovers. By the way, they don't have a time limit for seating, so the turnover rate is quite slow. It's best to go with plenty of time on your hands! 🚶‍♂️

The famous cheesecake shop was recommended by a friend, so I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. There was a waiting line, and we were the third group in line. After about 30 minutes, we were able to enter. The creamy basque cheesecake was delicious, but smaller than expected, so I didn't think it was a good value for the price. The chamomile tea with honey was generous in portion and enjoyable. The service was not very friendly. Overall, the food was tasty, but considering the service, value, and taste, I would not visit again. Just an average restaurant.

Cheesecake is a popular shop that you often see on Instagram. I thought it would be smoother to reach the cheesecake by going for lunch, so I tried to make a reservation for lunch, but it seems that they only accept course reservations. The course options vary in price, with main dishes like risotto or meat, and the content is predetermined, so I preferred to choose a lunch where I could pick what I wanted to eat. I decided to line up without a reservation before the opening. I was the first in line 30 minutes before the opening! I thought it was good because it was a weekday, but another group started lining up. Before the opening, there were only two groups, including myself, but by the time I left the store, there were already 4.5 groups lined up, which was surprising. Even on a weekday, it's still popular after all. Everyone seems to be aiming for the cheesecake. By the way, even though it was already 12 o'clock, there was no sign of the store opening... After about 10 minutes, they finally said, "Sorry for the wait," and leisurely opened. I was surprised that I didn't feel any sense of apology for making the customers who were waiting in line wait. Even though it's a popular shop, they seem to be taking it easy... For lunch, there were two types of burgers and two types of meat dishes, a total of four options. I was torn between the beef and chicken burgers, but I chose the Spicy Chicken Burger. I thought the beef burger was more popular because I often saw it on Instagram, but it seems to have no particular seasoning (maybe the simple seasoning of the meat itself?), so I decided to go with the sweet and spicy seasoning of the Spicy Chicken Burger. Looking at the menu photos, the beef burger seemed more voluminous, but in reality, the Spicy Chicken Burger was so big that the chicken was overflowing from the buns and looked delicious. Finally, the food arrived! It didn't take a long time, but it took longer than I expected. It was not spicy despite being called spicy, and the sweet and savory taste was very delicious. The buns had cumin in them, and the bread itself was delicious, but I got full from the meat and left half of the buns. I was worried that the course would be too much, but I saw some customers who ordered the lunch course, and the appetizers were quite small, so maybe they could finish the course easily. Even if I ordered a single lunch and dessert & drink, the difference in price was not that much compared to the cheapest course, but I was happy with this because I wanted to eat the lunch burger. The staff's attitude was a bit brisk, but the food was surprisingly delicious. Of course, the cheesecake was delicious too!

I apologize for my poor photography skills. I chose the plan with champagne for 3500 yen, and the meat portion was generous! The flavor was a bit rich, but it paired well with the alcohol. The restaurant was stylish, the food was delicious, and it was a great place to relax. The popular cheesecake had a strong cheese flavor and was creamy and delicious. We had made a reservation and were able to enter smoothly, but there was a bit of a line outside. The sign said they also serve coffee, so maybe only the food requires a reservation? I would love to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.

Lunch on the second day was here. I didn't want to walk around in the heat, so I made a reservation in advance through Tabelog. The course was 3,000 yen and it came with a variety of dishes, so it was quite a good deal in terms of price. Plus, the dessert was their popular cheesecake in a regular size, which was a great bonus. When we arrived at the reserved time, the cafe was mostly occupied by customers. The age group seemed to be on the younger side. Every table had a cheesecake, which made me realize how popular it is. Now, let's start with a toast. I had sparkling wine. - Spanish ham: It was delicious and had just the right amount of saltiness. - Assorted appetizers: Mini choux pastry, mini hamburger, and gazpacho. The gazpacho in a small light bulb was unexpectedly spicy. Overall, the dishes were quite salty. - Assorted mushrooms in garlic oil - Baguette - Grilled beef harami on a lava stone grill: It was also on the salty side. The charcoal salt and Basque chili were quite spicy. The side potatoes were plentiful. I was starting to get full... - Seafood paella - Melt-in-your-mouth cheesecake: Almost everyone in the restaurant ordered this dessert. It was part of the course, and I expected a smaller size, but it was a regular size! A great deal indeed. It was delicious. It's a Basque cheesecake, but it didn't have any bitterness or overwhelming sweetness. Despite being full, I finished it in no time. It was delicious. My friend wanted to get a takeout because it was so good, but they had stopped takeout due to the extreme heat. Understandable in this weather. The food was worth the price for the course. However, the restaurant mentioned it on their page, but it took quite a long time. It took exactly over 2 hours from entering to leaving. The intervals between dishes were long. The first dish, the ham, took more than 10 minutes to arrive after being seated. The chef was working alone, and there was only one waiter. But apart from us, most guests only ordered cake and drinks. So, maybe that's why it took so long. That was disappointing. It's difficult if you don't have a lot of time. When we left the restaurant, there were quite a few people lining up outside in this scorching heat. There was no shade, so it must have been tough for them. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On the second day in Kyoto, we had lunch at Chuleta. A friend had made a reservation for the 3000 yen course for us. We started with a toast, I had iced tea and my friend had sparkling wine. Here is the menu we had that day: - Spanish ham appetizer platter - Petit choux, mini hamburger, gazpacho - Various mushroom ajillo - Baguette - Grilled beef harami on lava stone - Seafood paella - Basque cheesecake Overall, the flavors were on the strong side (salty). The clientele at this restaurant seemed to be mostly in their 20s, so it might be the style of the place. The standout dish was the Basque cheesecake we had at the end. It was very smooth and had a mellow cheese flavor. We thought it was too big to order as a single item at the end of the course, but it was surprisingly light and delicious. We wanted to get a takeout for our daughter, but they said it might melt in high temperatures, so it was not possible (it's available in other seasons). The only dish other customers seemed to order was the Basque cheesecake, which we rated 4 stars. It was really delicious, and we could see why people come specifically for it. The staff consisted of two people, one handling the floor and counter, and the other preparing the dishes in the kitchen. One thing that stood out was the long intervals between dishes being served. While it's fine to wait a bit during a leisurely lunch with a friend, it was a bit excessive this time. The ham appetizer took over 15 minutes to arrive, and the small portion of thinly sliced ham left us puzzled. In Kyoto, a lunch at a Japanese restaurant with a similar volume usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, but this day we ended up leaving the restaurant at 2:30 pm. However, considering the quality of the dishes for 3000 yen, it's a good value. If the operation improves, it would be recommended for younger people and those who enjoy strong flavors. The restaurant was always busy, with customers leaving and new ones coming in. But we were surprised to see a long line outside under the scorching sun, with no shade. If you want just the Basque cheesecake without a reservation, you'll have to wait in line. It seemed quite challenging. Thank you for the meal!

I ordered the following items: - Melting cheese cake for 500 yen - Egg yolk pudding and sangria sorbet for 650 yen I thought the cheese cake would be extremely sweet, but it turned out to have a subtle sweetness, making it a cheesecake with a sophisticated flavor. Since they also serve alcohol during the day, I might try their Spanish cuisine and drinks next time. The stylish atmosphere and delicious cheesecake provided a soothing experience. Thank you for the meal.

- Near Gion Shijo Station, there is a Spanish bar where you can enjoy wine, bone-in meat, and aioli. Their Basque cheesecake has become popular on social media, so I decided to try it out this time! - Order (tax included) ✔ Melting cheesecake 500 yen A cheesecake with a unique rare layer that is so soft it sinks under its own weight. It is served on a plate that looks like a cloud, making it instantly recognizable as being from this place! Made from cream cheese from Australian dairy cows, combined with eggs and cream, it has a very gentle texture with a hint of saltiness. The slightly bitter burnt surface is also a distinctive feature, as it is not overly sweet. ✔ Ceylon tea 500 yen Rich in the cool flavor of tea leaves. - Store information & access: Located about a 1-minute walk from Keihan Main Line "Gion Shijo Station" and about a 3-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line "Kyoto Kawaramachi Station" - Business hours: 12:00 - 22:00 - Regular holiday: Refer to Instagram - Seating: Table seats, counter seats - Parking lot: None (There is a coin parking nearby) - Wi-Fi: None - Outlet: None

I celebrated my birthday at Churetahe! I love the buscht here! When I visited, they were playing the Sky Mission from Fast & Furious, which almost made me lose focus on the movie, but all the dishes were delicious. It was the best birthday dinner with my favorite movie and tasty food!
