Located slightly off the beaten path from Arashiyama, along the approach to Seiryoji and Shakado. This quiet spot sees fewer tourists, with a charming atmosphere and a cute interior. On this day, we visited for the café. - Matcha shaved ice. You can pour the condensed milk yourself. Hidden inside was matcha ice cream, with a delightful matcha aroma. It was a bit small, but tasty! - Waffle. Was it a single serving? On the contrary, it was quite large! Topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, it was a satisfying treat. - Homemade lemonade. A refreshing and tangy drink. Delicious. With a café dining setup, the food looks promising. The lunch menu seems hearty. I'd like to come back next time for lunch.

I had 12 different types of obanzai for lunch. Each dish was carefully made and delicious. When I think of obanzai, I used to think it wouldn't go well with rice, but there were dishes like chicken cutlet and dote-yaki that went really well with rice. It was a really wonderful restaurant. I would love to try their curry next time. ✨✨

Located a little away from the center of Arashiyama, in the town near the Shakado temple in Saga, close to Morika Tofu. If you come around here, the late hours after lunchtime are not crowded and it's a hidden gem. Until 2:00 PM, you can get a daily special plate lunch with a drink for ¥1,000, which is a great deal. I always aim for the quiet late hours and sit at the same spacious bench seat each time. I always order the same thing, but strangely, I never get tired of it. The 9 side dish plate (¥1,200) is what I always go for. You can have unlimited rice and miso soup refills. The mashed pumpkin with cream cheese and the homemade salad dressing are just some of the dishes that have a unique touch. I imagine the other menu items are delicious as well, although I haven't tried them...

Located in a quiet residential area a little away from the center of town like Tenryu-ji Temple. The menu is so delicious that it's hard to choose, and I added sausage as an option to my hamburger. Rice and miso soup are refillable! Reservations are also possible, and the prices are not too high. The food was delicious and soaked into my body after walking for hours. As you can see in the photo, the portions are generous, so it's recommended for those who want a hearty meal like a set meal. I want to go again!

The miso soup, made with Kyoto-style white miso and soy milk, was refillable. The overall flavor was on the rich side, but still delicious. The Kyoto pork hamburger with grated ponzu sauce had a firm texture when you first put your chopsticks in, but was actually quite easy to eat with a slightly chewy consistency. The mashed potatoes were not too starchy, so you won't feel too full. They have a parking space for one car, and considering it's in Arashiyama, the cost-performance ratio is good. I think it's a hidden gem for lunch.

I visited this restaurant for lunch during my sightseeing in Arashiyama. It was convenient to be able to reserve a seat online. It was a Sunday and Arashiyama was very crowded, with parking being a challenge, but luckily this restaurant had parking for two cars and we were able to find a spot, which was much appreciated. The restaurant is quite far from the central area of Arashiyama, so it would be difficult to walk there. I had the Kyoto pork tonkatsu set meal for 1,300 yen, and the pork was very tender and delicious. The salad and white miso soup were also tasty and I enjoyed them. I also ordered the dashimaki tamago as a side dish, and it was a long 20cm roll that made a big impression. The prices are a bit on the higher side for a set meal restaurant, more like a cafe, but considering the bustling restaurants in the Arashiyama area during lunchtime, I would recommend this place. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a residential building, with a bright and female-friendly interior. The spacious and clean restroom was also a plus.

The menu is easy to understand with photos. I tried the Kyoto-style obanzai dishes and they were all delicious. The service is friendly and homey, but may not be suitable for those in a hurry. It was nice to enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto cuisine and the cafe.

I entered the restaurant around 2:00 PM on Sunday. Since it was past lunchtime, the restaurant was not crowded. I ordered 12 kinds of obanzai dishes and a rolled omelette. I was surprised by how big the rolled omelette was. It was twice as big as I had imagined! The appearance was good and the taste was okay. The miso soup was creamy. The prices were reasonable for a tourist spot, making it easy to dine here!

On a Saturday afternoon, after finishing our errands, my daughter and I remembered a newly opened café in the neighborhood and decided to check it out for a late lunch. Normally, during this time of year with cherry blossoms, this area would be bustling with tourists, but this year, just like last year, it was surprisingly quiet with few people around. We drove to the café since there was a parking lot in front of it. The café was located on a one-way street leading to Saga Shakado Temple. As we drove there, we noticed a lot of out-of-town cars, and we got caught in a small traffic jam. The café had space for only two cars to park, so we managed to squeeze into a spot and went inside. Upon entering, we were asked to sanitize our hands with alcohol, a common practice during the pandemic. Each table had a small space disinfectant, and the windows and doors were wide open for good ventilation. It felt like an open-air café with the pleasant spring breeze coming in. I ordered the "Kyoto Pork 100% Hamburg Lunch" for 1,200 yen, while my daughter had the "Kyoto Pork Braised Pork Lunch" for 1,150 yen. Both dishes came with a colorful salad, homemade carrot dressing, rape blossom miso soup, simmered daikon radish, and pickled Japanese mustard greens. The pork sausage with grainy mustard that came with my dish was particularly delicious. It was a satisfying lunch, albeit a bit pricey for a casual meal. The food was well-prepared and very tasty. They also recently started serving weekend morning meals, which might be a good option for tourists once the pandemic situation improves. I look forward to coming back again when I have the chance. This is a hidden gem for lunch in Arashiyama! It's a bit of a walk, but located in a quiet residential area with a very friendly atmosphere. They also have a children's menu which is great. We tried the recommended 18-item obanzai dish today, each dish was carefully prepared and had generous portions. I would love to come back here again when I visit Arashiyama ☺︎

I had the daily set meal. I was impressed by the white miso soup and the sweet and sour sauce with mushrooms used in the fried chicken. It was so delicious that I will definitely be a repeat customer.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was also wonderful. All three generations of our family were satisfied.
