About 30 years ago, I visited the main store a few times. I think the main store was located around Kitashirakawa... Maybe the store moved to Okazaki? Today, I ordered Negi-topped and Crispy at the Shichijo store. While waiting for the Crispy to cook, I had octopus snacks and two beers. It's been a while since I had Crispy, and it tasted different from Osaka takoyaki, with a nostalgic flavor.

Tako An. A takoyaki izakaya located a 7-8 minute walk from JR Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station in Kyoto. They offer various types of takoyaki and side dishes, but this time I chose the regular and mochi takoyaki! The outside was crispy and the inside was soft and delicious. It might be a good choice for a second stop on your night out. 😊

Located a 9-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto, this restaurant has no parking lot. It is a famous takoyaki shop in Kyoto. We arrived at 4:30 pm on a weekend, but the shop was still preparing and the lights were off. It takes 20 minutes to make the takoyaki. We decided to order takoyaki for 650 yen including tax and sujiyaki for 800 yen including tax. The shop is quite spacious with counter seats and table seats, making it feel like an izakaya. The owner seemed a bit blunt at first, but turned out to be surprisingly kind and friendly. The takoyaki was delicious, with a crispy exterior and a gooey interior. The octopus inside was also large and satisfying. The sujiyaki, which had no octopus but instead had meat, was also tasty, although we felt it was a bit expensive at 800 yen. Overall, the takoyaki was authentic and we would definitely like to visit again.

I ate takoyaki at the restaurant. It was full of atmosphere. The flour had a rich dashi flavor and there were large pieces of octopus. The texture was just right, not too overcooked or too soft. The takoyaki was served in a bamboo-like boat, adding to the atmosphere of the place. But suddenly, a large group of right-wing activists appeared. They blocked the Sevenjo side of Kyoto Station, preventing taxis from entering. Taxis are assigned entry days based on their license plate numbers, and today was supposed to be a day for them to enter. The taxi driver lamented, "There's no atmosphere here."

I came here at 7:30 PM on December 3, 2020, Thursday. It's my first time. The grilled octopus with green onions is incredibly delicious and amazing. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, outstanding. My mouth is happy. I am completely satisfied and full of happiness. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calming and spacious. If you want to eat grilled octopus in Kyoto, I recommend this place. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back. I will eat with gratitude for all the ingredients in this world. I'm calling for delicious food♪ The more I eat, the more power overflows♪

The octopus was small and there were few other ingredients. The takoyaki was well-cooked, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. It was a typical takoyaki.

Originally, it was a takoyaki shop in Kitashirakawa Bentencho. Even further back, it seems it started as a small shack-like stall in front of Kitashirakawa Batting Center. From there, it split into Takoyaki Takoan and Takokora. Both were known for their large amounts of tenkasu and big pieces of octopus. With their crispy and substantial octopus, they quickly became popular. I went to eat there just now for the first time in 30 years. The price is still the same as before, 8 pieces for 600 yen. I ordered takoyaki and beer. After waiting for 7-8 minutes, the takoyaki arrived. Oh, it's been so long! My expectations were high. I took a bite... Huh? It's not piping hot. And the octopus is small. What? Is this really 600 yen? Unbelievable, I was disappointed.

Today, I was invited by a friend to go drinking at a takoyaki restaurant. The restaurant is called Tako Yasushi Shichijo Omiya. You can also get takoyaki to go, but it seems you can eat inside the restaurant as well. The place was quite crowded with families and foreign tourists. There are different types of takoyaki available, some taking about 20 minutes to cook. We started with a cheers with beer! The beer was poured with fine bubbles, a beautiful draft beer. Delicious! While waiting for the takoyaki to cook, we snacked on some appetizers. We had tako wasa (octopus sashimi) and tako yaki. The octopus was delicious, being the star ingredient of the restaurant. The takoyaki was piping hot. The outside was crispy, while the inside was fluffy. We each ordered a plate of takoyaki - normal, ponzu, and scallop. The scallop had a unique texture that I really liked. The ponzu sauce was not applied, and it seems like the style is to dip it in ponzu before eating. It was a fun and lively atmosphere, perfect for drinking while snacking.

Hello, this is Average ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ. "Takoyaki 100 reviews compilation (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧" ~Title Call~ Volume 67 "Octopus and Ume" ~Takoyaki practice~ Kuwaa! Me ∧_∧ / \ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄( ・д・)<I won't fail. _φ___⊂)__ \__________/⚫️/⚫️/⚫️/|/⚫️/⚫️/⚫️/| Takoyaki review volume 67 is from "Takayasu" in Kyoto ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ. It is a popular shop in Kyoto that specializes in fried takoyaki, such as Takako and Takayasu. The takoyaki is larger than normal, and after being cooked to perfection, they generously pour oil on the teppan and fry the surface until crispy. However, compared to a few years ago, both Takayasu and Takako have reduced the size of their takoyaki, and while the price remains the same, the quantity has decreased from 9 to 8 pieces, maybe reflecting the times (^_^;). Takayasu also offers unique takoyaki in addition to regular takoyaki, and this time, I ordered something I had never seen in other shops before. That item is "Ume-yaki" Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ. ●Food (⭐️3.7) ~Ume-yaki 8 pieces (700 yen)~ It is a fried takoyaki with a crispy outer layer and a chewy texture inside. Ume-yaki has plum meat inside the normal takoyaki. You can enjoy the two-stage flavor change of the sweet and savory sauce on the outside and the salty plum meat inside (^^). The combination of plum meat and octopus is surprisingly good (^。^). ●Service (⭐️3.8) The service is polite. The restaurant has seating where you can eat in, and the space is spacious with manga available, making the waiting time comfortable (^^). Since it takes about 20 minutes to make the fried takoyaki, it is recommended to call ahead to pick up or eat at a time that suits you. ●Atmosphere (⭐️3.7) There are table seats available for dining in. Despite being a takoyaki shop, the store is quite spacious, so it is recommended to visit with your family when visiting nearby places like parks or aquariums (^^). ●Value for Money (⭐️3.2) - Takoyaki 8 pieces (600 yen) - Ume-yaki 8 pieces (700 yen) The prices are high (-_-;). ●Overall Impression It is a hearty fried takoyaki with a crispy and chewy texture. Fried takoyaki is available at various Kyoto shops like "Takako," "Takayasu," "Takasho," and "Tsukiji Gindaco." If you want to try unique fried takoyaki, "Takayasu" and "Tsukiji Gindaco" have a variety of options, so I recommend checking them out (^^). Oh, but "Tsukiji Gindaco" is a nationwide chain, so you can also try it there, although it might be limited to Kyoto in Kansai (^_^;). For those who want to try unique fried takoyaki, "Takayasu" and "Tsukiji Gindaco" offer various options, so please visit them. ~Takoyaki 100 reviews compilation wandering record~ Introduction to recommended takoyaki shops by Average! I visited this shop for the first time and was surprised to find that it was a takoyaki shop now, when it used to sell bento boxes before. I had always wanted to try their food, but they seemed to be closed whenever I passed by. One day, I passed by late at night and they were open! I ordered some takoyaki, which was a bit pricey and had an unusual shape, but it was okay. It was good that I went before it got crowded.

I felt a little hungry and wanted to eat something, so I stopped by here. I heard from a local in Kyoto that the takoyaki here is delicious. I ordered the regular one and one with plenty of Kujo green onions. The outside was crispy, which I really liked! The flavor was also rich, and the bitterness of the Kujo green onions was delicious. However, the locals who knew the old days said it used to be even more delicious. I don't know about the past, but I thought it was delicious enough!

I recently started getting hooked on it again. The takoyaki, cooked on a special copper plate, has a crispy outside and a moist, hot inside. The main ingredient, the octopus, is also big! This texture is unparalleled (although the takoyaki found in stores like Aeon these days are getting closer to this). The menu is also extensive and you can drink plenty. The owner who was there until last year seems to have moved to another store, but the taste seems to have been successfully handed over. This Kyoto-style takoyaki is recommended for those visiting the Kyoto Aquarium from other prefectures. The owner mentioned considering selling at a street stall, I wonder if that ever happened? Also, to coincide with the opening of the aquarium, the regular closing day has been changed to Mondays.

In Kyoto, the popular takoyaki is crispy on the outside, rich in flavor, and delicious! I had takoyaki at Takoyasu near Nijo Omiya intersection in Shichijo after playing futsal with friends. I first tried this crispy takoyaki when I was in college. Before that, I didn't know that this type of takoyaki existed in Kyoto! Since then, when I think of takoyaki, I think of this crispy outer layer. Each takoyaki is quite large (the octopus pieces are big too) and quite filling due to the rich flavor. Besides Takoyasu, there is another popular shop called Takoko which seems cleaner and more popular. While Osaka's soft takoyaki is delicious, Kyoto's takoyaki is also worth trying. It's interesting how Kyoto and Osaka, which are right next to each other, can have such different types of takoyaki! I always read Oishinbo while waiting for my order.

This is a famous takoyaki shop in Kyoto (^.^) The outside is crispy while the inside is not too gooey, but the crispiness is outstanding (^.^) They take quite some time to evenly cook the surface, so be careful as it can be hot when you eat it (^.^) The octopus inside is quite large, giving it a satisfying bite (^.^) The sauce is on the sweeter side and pairs perfectly with the takoyaki (^.^) You can also eat inside the shop and relax.

This shop is a popular takoyaki shop that is occasionally featured on TV! Located in Omiya Shichijo, next to Umekoji Park, the charm is definitely the crispy surface of the takoyaki, with a fairly large piece of octopus inside. I tried it once and immediately became addicted. The portion size is like forcing two takoyaki balls into one! In Osaka, shops with a creamy texture are mainstream, but the crispy texture is addictive. There may be preferences, but my recommendation is the cheese! Eating four pieces will make you full. You can also order takeout by phone, so everyone should definitely try it out.
