I had some errands in Ujihashi Shopping Street, so I visited for the first time in a while after they opened. They were still making muffins inside. Last time I visited, they also had baked goods, but this time they were not available, probably because it was early. I got three different kinds to go. When I got home, I followed the delicious way to eat them. The muffins were moist and delicious. I personally think they are best slightly burnt, but the chocolate chunks were really hot (lol).

I was recommended a stylish bakery in Uji and decided to visit. It is located in a fashionable area known as Naka-Uji, and both the shop and surrounding buildings are stylishly designed. The shop, named Ho Ho Emika, has a gentle atmosphere, and the pastries, such as cute muffins and tarts, are all handmade with a warm touch. I purchased a chocolate muffin and a custard muffin, each costing around 330 yen. The toppings on top allowed me to enjoy the different flavors, and the dough was similar to pancake mix with a hint of sweetness, providing a satisfying texture. It is a shop where you can find gentle pastries that perfectly match the atmosphere of the shop and the staff.

I tried takeout from this shop next. I had the Kinkan Compote Tart (420 yen), Amaou Strawberry Chocolate Ganache Tart (450 yen), and Oreo Muffin (280 yen). The flavors here are simple but satisfying, giving you a little smile as you eat. Maybe it's a combination of the shop owner's name? Hohoemika! Great naming and great taste.

The owner trained at a local bakery before selling tarts at markets and other shops. Today, I chose the "Sweet Potato Tart" labeled as the tart of the day. The taste was not heavy, but rather light and gentle. It was delicious.

I visited a few times, but mostly on weekdays so it was always closed... Finally got to buy some! Since I arrived late, many items were already sold out, but I still had a hard time deciding which one to get. The shop is small and only one group is allowed in at a time. It's mainly for takeout, but you can also eat outside the shop (limited to one group). The muffins are filling and delicious! I want to try a different flavor next time. ✨

Delicious muffin shop. Located a little off the beaten path from Ujibashi Shopping Street in Naka-Uji Yorin. I have been there several times and sometimes they have tarts alongside the muffins. When I visited Uji, I peeked into a new spot that had opened a little off the main street from Uji Bridge Shopping Street. It's a complex facility called "Nakauji yorin" that has been featured in magazines. The front part of it is a bakery. I had no idea, but the owner used to sell baked goods at local markets. There were already regular customers, so when I went during lunchtime, there weren't many products left. I bought matcha chocolate tart, matcha muffin, matcha cookie, and a muffin whose name I forgot. They use seasonal fruits and bake something different every day. The tart was delicious! I paired it with hojicha this time, but I think it would go well with Japanese tea too. It seems like they sell out pretty quickly, so visiting around lunchtime would be a good idea. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It was a sunny day with low humidity, making it perfect for bread and pastries. I visited around 2:30 pm on a Friday and was lucky to find a good selection. I thought it was a bakery specializing in pastries, but they also had refrigerated cakes. Due to the high temperature, I opted for pastries. The strawberry and cream cheese muffin was mild and easy to eat at 330 yen. The black tea and white chocolate muffin lacked the tea flavor at 280 yen. The Spice Chai Cake at 220 yen had a refreshing taste despite not being very spicy. The staff, especially the cute girl, had an idol-like charm. I left thinking there must be some older fans of hers.

A cute little shop run by a woman. Just walking past the shop, you can smell a nice fragrance. In Uji, where there are many shops catering to tourists, this shop stands out for not pandering to tourists. It's tucked away in a little alley and feels like a hidden gem. Despite being newly opened, it already has a good reputation and tends to sell out quickly. It's recommended to go early!
