Thank you for the other day♪ We were talking about how the shop blends into the residential area and has a beautiful, traditional Japanese atmosphere inside, which foreigners would probably like. We reserved a private room as we have a 1-year-old child, and we were seated on the second floor. The table was high enough that our child couldn't climb on it, which was perfect. There were plenty of options for our child to eat, and they were satisfied. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't choose how to drink the raw blood and it came with shochu, but other than that, we were very satisfied with the seating and course content. I would be happy if I could drink the raw blood with apple juice next time. We will come again♪

I had a course meal at En-tei, a restaurant specializing in softshell turtle and turtle cuisine at Daikakuji Temple in Kyoto. The dishes were like Western cuisine but without any unpleasant smell, and the meat had a unique texture different from both fish and meat. The softshell turtle's fresh blood was easy to drink when mixed with liquor, and it was said that it is easier to drink when warm. The hot pot was light and collagen-rich, with the shell being particularly delicious. Finally, I enjoyed the Chinese noodles and porridge despite being full. I couldn't finish the porridge, so I took it home in a Tupperware container as recommended. The next morning, I enjoyed it cold and then reheated it in the microwave to enjoy two different flavors.

I happened to see it on TV and made a reservation because they offer reasonably priced softshell turtle dishes. You can taste the softshell turtle properly even though it's cheap. Both the hot pot and the finishing dish were excellent. The customer service is also very pleasant, and you can relax and enjoy. A place that gives you energy in various ways.

The softshell turtle hot pot is delicious, but I find the other dishes to be just okay. Focus on the hot pot. If the other dishes were amazing, it would exceed a 4.0 rating. However, the softshell turtle hot pot's ramen finale was the best softshell turtle dish I've ever had! (The restaurant's white pepper really complements it well!)

Midnight dining at Suppon Marutei during the busy December. Enjoyed a full course of suppon including sashimi, hot pot, noodles, and porridge. The delicious broth was a highlight. The appetizer and taro were also delicious, and the sashimi was fresh and tasty. The suppon was tender and gelatinous. The noodles and porridge with the broth were amazing and filling. Ended up taking home leftover porridge to enjoy as breakfast the next day. Overall, a satisfying dining experience at Suppon Marutei. Thank you for the meal!

I went to my favorite restaurant, EnTei, for the first time in a while to enjoy some turtle cuisine. First, I had duck loin which had a delicious flavor of duck. Then, I tried the turtle sashimi, which is served individually on plates due to the current pandemic situation. The turtle sashimi may be hard to imagine for some people, but it is light and not fishy, especially tasty when eaten with ginger and green onions. I particularly enjoyed the liver for its light yet deep flavor. Next, I dived into the turtle hot pot with fried taro. Personally, I think the turtle hot pot is the most delicious among all hot pots. The turtle broth is simply irresistible. Eating turtle and vegetables made me feel happy. For the finale, there were two stages. First, the turtle ramen, which was incredibly delicious. The ramen in the exquisite turtle broth was a match made in heaven. I love this ramen and could eat it forever. Lastly, the rice porridge was also incredibly tasty. The broth in the hot pot, ramen, and rice porridge was so delicious that I ended up drinking a lot, but since turtle doesn't make you feel heavy in the stomach, I felt great the next day too. I finished with dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It was truly delicious.

Tonight's memory! When asked what I wanted to eat in Kyoto, my housemate said, "I remember the delicious turtle soup I had last year!" So, I made a reservation at "Entei," where you can enjoy a turtle full course at a reasonable price. The menu includes turtle sashimi, turtle tempura, live turtle blood, turtle hot pot, turtle ramen, and collagen-rich porridge. It's enough collagen for one person, equivalent to 1.5 bills of Fukuzawa Yukichi. If you ate this in Tokyo, it would cost 2-3 times more for sure.

When you think of Kyoto, you think of suppon (softshell turtle). I'm not sure why. It was my first visit to Enchin, which was quite hard to find. We enjoyed the suppon course at a table in the second-floor tatami room. It was very delicious. The proprietress (if I'm mistaken, I apologize) came to explain the dishes in Kyoto dialect, adding to the atmosphere. I will definitely go back. It's a great restaurant.

I had a satisfying meal of softshell turtle (^-^) Softshell turtle is one of my favorite dishes. It may not be well-known at major restaurants, but it is always delicious whenever I go (although there are secretly many fans). First, the softshell turtle sashimi. When I first tried it, I thought, "Softshell turtle sashimi...?" But now I really like it for its light taste, lack of odor, and good texture. I often ask for seconds. The fried softshell turtle is also irresistible. However, you need to request it in advance because it cannot be prepared quickly. So, I always make sure to ask for it when making a reservation. One of the special features of this restaurant, Entei, is the amber-colored soup in the hot pot. You can enjoy the soup smoothly without it becoming too rich, and even when it thickens, adding ramen to it does not make you thirsty. The price is reasonable, and the portion is satisfying (they serve a mix of farmed and wild softshell turtles). The meal ends with a rice porridge, which is topped with fluffy egg, making it easy to eat. The leftover rice porridge can be taken home and reheated the next day, still delicious when cold. I always ask for extra so I can enjoy it over two days. Softshell turtle lovers should definitely try Entei at least once. Highly recommended! ❗

They said they are raising them in aquaculture, but the liver, eggs, spleen, etc. were also fresh and delicious. The blood was also cut and had no odor, which was good. The main dish of soft-shelled turtle hot pot had plenty of gelatin, and the texture was indescribable. The meal ended with both ramen and porridge. I thoroughly enjoyed the soft-shelled turtle after a long time. I also had sake, which was Fukujyu (Nobel Prize-winning) and Ikeda's special ginjo.

I visited this restaurant 10 years ago right after it moved, and the taste of the turtle hot pot I had back then stayed with me. I visited again recently, and even though there was a new owner, the deliciousness remained unchanged. I thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers, sashimi, and hot pot, so I left fully satisfied. I also learned the reason why they offer ramen (which was excellent) as the last dish. Whenever I visit Kyoto, this is a restaurant I always want to go to.

Sliced softshell turtle sashimi doesn't have any fishy smell, and although I tried drinking the blood for the first time, the appearance may be a bit off-putting. In simple terms, the blood of the softshell turtle is said to have similar effects to a nutritional drink... rich in iron, anti-aging properties, and believed to improve physical strength. The hot pot is easy to eat because there are no faces or claws. I wish I could have seen them preparing it. The sashimi includes liver, fat, and even the tiny little heart and kidneys of the softshell turtle. A reviewer mentioned previously eating the beating heart of a mamushi snake, so I was curious to try the beating heart of the softshell turtle. The soup is delicious, especially with added ginger. Although not shown in the photos, you can also enjoy ramen or porridge as a finishing touch. The female owner here provides polite and cheerful service, leaving a good impression. The head chef passed away 5 years ago, and since then, the son has been working together with his mother to run the restaurant. The son may come across a bit too friendly with regular customers, lacking a bit of sophistication.

I can feel the spirit of the Shinsengumi and loyalists in Kyoto Shimabara. My junior from Tokyo who stayed at my place expressed a desire to eat something with the word "seino" in it, so I chose this restaurant because he had never experienced eating turtle. The restaurant is clean and beautiful, the service is very polite and pleasant. The meal includes an appetizer, sashimi, turtle hotpot, and chawanmushi. The sashimi includes fat, liver, heart, kidneys, eggs, and meat. It was a chunk of umami without any smell. The turtle hotpot was satisfactory. I can't stop eating it. For the finale, you can choose between Chinese noodles and porridge. It's great that you don't have to choose one. I'm greedy~. The powdered shichimi spice and ginger go well together. The Chinese noodles have a rich aroma from the powdered soy sauce. The porridge is light and fluffy. For dessert, there are fruits, red beans, and agar jelly. Despite being full, I didn't feel uncomfortable, but rather enveloped in the lingering umami. And when I paid the bill, I was surprised. I was prepared for it to be quite expensive because of the turtle, but it was very reasonable. I was able to establish a wonderful connection with this restaurant.

This was the first time I tried turtle cuisine at Madoka-tei when it was still in Enmachi. I was deeply impressed by how delicious it was, and I instantly became a fan. They have private rooms on the second floor, creating a nice atmosphere. We started with a turtle soup chawanmushi, which had a deliciously mellow broth. Next was turtle sashimi, including the meat, joint fat, liver, heart, and kidneys. Surprisingly, it was light and delicious. Then we tried the turtle blood, which was easy to drink when mixed with shochu. We also had fried taro, which brought out the great flavor of the taro. The main course was turtle hot pot. The turtle meat was like chicken without the gamey taste. The soup was so delicious that I ended up drinking too much and getting full. For the first part of the finale, we had turtle ramen, which was one of the best ramen dishes I've ever had. Lastly, we had turtle rice porridge, which was also incredibly delicious. Turtles are truly the best. For more detailed and delicious information, visit http://fanblogs.jp/kuishinbok/archive/151/0

I used it for a work-related gathering. The place is located to the west of the Omon in Shimabara, two streets to the north on the east side. It seems that the shop has been relocated in recent years and it is a new and clean shop. I have eaten Suppon in a small pot as part of a course meal, but this was the first time I had it as part of a course. First, the appetizer was sesame dressing, mixed with black sesame, enoki mushrooms, and greens, and it was a light and refreshing dish. The sashimi was served with ginger soy sauce. I honestly thought it would be more difficult to eat because of its strong flavor, but it was delicious without any unpleasant smell. The live blood was mixed with shochu and had added sweetness. I thought it would be difficult to drink because of its strong taste, but I enjoyed it slowly and deliciously. Next was the liver dish. I forgot what it was mixed with, but it was also delicious. Then came the round pot. First, I had the broth, which was very flavorful and delicious, with Suppon, vegetables, yuba, tofu, etc. (I accidentally forgot to take a photo). Finally, we had ramen and porridge. The ramen was thin noodles sprinkled with pepper. The porridge was sprinkled with shichimi pepper. Both were delicious. The dessert was fruit and kuzukiri, and it was satisfying until the very end. After living for over 40 years, my image of Suppon has completely changed. "Ah, I want to eat Suppon again!"

Last year, I went to En-tei in Kyoto with some friends to try their turtle cuisine. I had tried turtle before, but this was my first time going to a specialty restaurant, so I was very interested. We had a course meal, and the sashimi was surprisingly delicious. I guess it's because it's so fresh. The hot pot that my friend had told me about was also very comforting and warm, with the essence of the turtle packed in. It was really delicious!

In Kyoto, Daishi is famous for its turtle cuisine, but it's just too expensive for the average person. However, you can enjoy delicious turtle cuisine for less than 10,000 yen here. If you've never tried turtle before, you may be skeptical of its deliciousness, but once you try it, you won't forget it. The sashimi was surprisingly delicious, but the hot pot was the best! The rich soup made from collagen-rich turtle broth is irresistible. For the finishing touch, you can choose ramen instead of porridge. The taste was also shocking. Not only the taste, but the nourishing power is amazing. Women will be surprised when they look in the mirror the next morning, as their skin will become firm and smooth.
