I went out alone for lunch on a regular day to relax my lower back pain, and searched for various super public baths in Kyoto city. After checking the high ratings on Google Maps, I decided to visit Yunosato Makoto no Yu. This is the dining area inside the facility. The spacious and bright interior was quite open and relaxing. I ordered the recommended lunch set and a draft beer. The sashimi, fried food, grilled dishes, and steamed dishes all had a refined taste and were very delicious. Despite being quite filling, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Although the bath is not a natural hot spring, the inn's Fuji mountain lava bath is said to have effects such as sterilization, detoxification, breakdown of neutral fats, and far infrared radiation, and I felt warm for a long time. I highly recommend both the food and the bath!

I stayed overnight and was told to have meals here. I had meals with other guests? I was asked about the meal time, but still had to wait when I arrived at that time, which was funny. The food was average. The drinks were slow from the first drink. It was disappointing considering the good bath. I don't know the meal cost, but the accommodation cost was less than 10,000 yen per person including breakfast.

I had lunch at a hot spring inn and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and affordable it was. The dining area is on the second floor, accessed by an elevator from the main entrance. I ordered Matsukadou and mackerel sushi. Matsukadou came with sashimi, simmered dish, tempura, and chawanmushi for only 1000 yen. The mackerel sushi was 400 yen for two large pieces, and it was delicious with just the right amount of vinegar.

Miso hot pot shabu-shabu. It was my first time trying miso hot pot shabu-shabu. The combination of the meat's richness and the miso was great, not too strong. The size of the meat slices was also very satisfying.

Weekend trip to Kyoto (*^^*)♬ We stayed at Yunosuke Matsue, a hot spring inn. Since there was no registration for the inn, I will leave a review on the restaurant page ★*About the inn*It is located a short walk southeast from Tanbaguchi Station, one station away from Kyoto Station on the JR Sagano Line. It is close to the important cultural properties Kadoya and Rinnoya. It is within walking distance to the Kyoto Aquarium. There is a parking lot in front of the inn. As the name "Yunosuke" suggests, it is a facility with rare open-air baths, cypress baths, and a sauna in Kyoto. They also accept external guests for the bath only. It is located on the opposite side of the hotel entrance. The main building rooms have recently been renovated, allowing you to relax comfortably. Luckily, we were guided to a renovated room. Separate bath and toilet, air purifier, and Wi-Fi are available, which personally made me very happy ♡ I would be even happier if the refrigerator could be colder and bigger. For meals, we went to Hanaguruma on the second floor. We had a private room for dinner ♪ A rich variety of appetizers, a wide selection of sashimi, delicious miso beef shabu-shabu, large shrimp tempura, and so on...!! It was incredibly voluminous ((((;゚Д゚)))))))w I secretly thought about going for ramen after the meal at the inn (lol), but it was impossible, I couldn't finish it m(__)m The broth was delicious ♪ If drinks could be served more quickly and meals could be served based on the situation, it would be perfect. The next day, we left our refrigerated items and parked our car to enjoy Kyoto ✨ I was very happy with the flexible response. Thank you for taking care of us~^ ^

Stayed at Sunyu no Yado Matsuei in 2017. Opted for a one night stay with two meals included, featuring Wagyu steak and seasonal Kyoto kaiseki cuisine. The food was not as delicious as expected, but not terrible either. It felt like dining at a regular family restaurant or izakaya. The courses were luxurious, but lacked flavor and were quite bland. The portions were also very generous, and I ended up leaving some uneaten. The Wagyu steak was served with butter, which was a bit disappointing. The service was average, with staff simply serving the dishes without much explanation.

"Sei no Yu" in Shimabara is one of my favorite bathhouses - it's clean, spacious, and not too crowded. It's located within the "Ryokan Matsuei," where you can also find "Hanaguruma," a dining spot to visit after soaking in the hot springs. There's nothing better than a cold beer after sweating it out in the onsen. The food menu isn't extensive, but they offer a variety of dishes from hearty set meals to perfect beer snacks. The "Seafood Salad" is a must-try with a generous serving of assorted sashimi, making it a great beer pairing. The "Ara-ni Dishes Set" includes a large pot of Ara-ni (fish stew), rice, miso soup, sashimi platter, chawanmushi, and a few side dishes - a satisfying meal with great flavor. I highly recommend experiencing the collaboration between "Sei no Yu" and "Hanaguruma."

This is the final post of my Osaka and Kyoto trip. For dinner, we stayed at a ryokan in Kyoto with a hot spring bath and had kaiseki cuisine (you could also choose sukiyaki, etc.). The place we stayed at was Matsue in Kyoto. It was not all completely authentic, but it was the best experience for me. The kaiseki cuisine in Kyoto was a precious experience. Every dish was delicious and there were so many dishes served one after another. The sukiyaki with a big piece of delicious meat, sashimi with tuna belly, simmered dishes, tempura, and many more dishes. Everything had great flavors. They served freshly made dishes, so we could enjoy warm dishes and freshly fried tempura. The breakfast included grilled salmon, tofu dishes, simmered dishes, pickles, hijiki, hot spring egg, miso soup, and rice. Everything was delicious and it made me feel happy. From dinner to breakfast, including the hot spring bath and the room, I had a wonderful time. The staff shared information about the city, made arrangements for us, and accommodated our requests. Thanks to them, we had a great trip to Kyoto.

This is a restaurant located inside the "Makoto no Yu" in Shimabara. I don't usually go to super sento or public baths, so I only went for the food. This was my second visit. It seems like a good place for families or friends to have a meal after bathing. I visited on a Sunday around 8 pm, and the last order was around 9:30 pm. I ordered two draft beers, bottled beer, shochu, sweet potato shochu, edamame, zaru soba, sashimi (small), and a Western-style bento. The food came out quickly, but the drinks were slow to arrive. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and not very friendly. Overall, it might be a good place to have a drink and a light meal after bathing, despite the slightly high prices.

Hanaguruma is an izakaya located on the second floor of "Makoto no Yu," a traditional Japanese-style super sento in Minami, Kyoto, which is one of my favorite spots. It's the perfect place for a drink after a bath! The menu mainly consists of typical izakaya dishes, which are tasty and go well with beer. The appetizers, sashimi, tempura, and other traditional dishes are safe choices, but they also offer courses, hot pot dishes, noodles, and rice bowls. Going to the sento with friends, then enjoying a lively meal at this restaurant, seems to be the secret to truly enjoying it!

Shimahara in Kyoto, attached to Sei no Yu, is a traditional Japanese restaurant. It's the perfect place to gather with old friends after a bath, drink sake, and have a good time. Sitting around a large table, we toast with draft beer, order various dishes, and catch up on old times and recent news. We switch to shochu halfway through, keep drinking, eating, and chatting... It's all good for about 4000 yen per person. Old photos and memorabilia (schedules, school ID cards, report cards, etc.) pop up, and we end up laughing a lot. It was really fun. Finally, we drive to Kyoto Station Hachijo exit and part ways. And so, solo adventures begin.

I used it for breakfast when staying overnight. There were many side dishes for breakfast, which made the rice go down smoothly. There were also many small dishes, and I was happy to see a little Kyoto-style dashi dish in addition to onsen tamago and seaweed, which are unique to breakfast.
