In late March, right before the peak of the coronavirus, five of us went to an Italian party and since then, I have been meeting J-chan frequently along with the Sweets Prince. The three of us decided spontaneously to go to a hotel, thinking they would have proper precautions in place. I have been here a few times before and it's always been calm, so I hope we can have a relaxing conversation after a long time. We met in the lobby, and this was my second time here since the renovation. Of course, we opted for the Afternoon Tea for 5060 yen, which we shared among the three of us. We also added two extra cakes. The first tier had milk pudding, red meat melon shortcake, sweet potato, carrot cake, snowmelt cheesecake, and cow-patterned roll. The second tier had pumpkin scones, live caramel and clotted cream, grape macarons, and grape tart. The third tier had savory cheese and haskap berry sandwiches, salmon rillettes with salmon roe, melon and snow crab fennel, and potato butter and corn quiche. The drink options were extensive, including around 30 varieties of teas, coffees, and lattes for all-you-can-drink. We shared two additional cakes, chocolate cake, and grape shortcake. I personally enjoyed the potato butter and corn quiche, pumpkin scones, melon and snow crab fennel, and sweet potato. Since I skipped lunch, I ended up choosing quiche and fennel. The fennel was particularly delicious. Today, I made sure to enjoy the scones with clotted cream and live caramel. The scones were warm and the live caramel was smooth and delicious. I challenged myself to try three types of drinks: Assam Gold black tea, vintage Lu Pu Erh Chinese tea, and three types of coffee. Two cakes were shared among the three of us harmoniously. Afternoon Tea in three tiers may seem simple, but it always brings a festive atmosphere that makes you go "Wow!" First, the older me picked a selection, and we went round and round, chatting happily. We leisurely ate and drank, and before we knew it, an hour and a half had passed. We decided to take a leisurely stroll to the next place I wanted to guide them to. Since I had my car, I left it parked at the Westin and planned to pick it up later. The fun conversations were far from over, and there was more to come.
