A friend visited me and we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. It is a creative cuisine restaurant located near the Shoujiji Temple in Kyoto. The restaurant has large glass windows that provide a sense of openness and allow you to enjoy the view of the mountains while dining (although you can also see residential areas). We reserved a table for four and opted for the "Mizu Course" priced at 3,000 yen (excluding tax). Here is a brief review of our experience: - Appetizer: Chilled Chawanmushi with Seasonal Plum. A refreshing appetizer perfect for summer, although we felt that the plum flavor could have been stronger. - Appetizer: Boiled Horse Mackerel with Mountain Yam, Seaweed Agar, Maple Gluten, Zucchini Sesame, and Pickled Eggplant with Prosciutto. The pickled eggplant wrapped in prosciutto was particularly impressive with its great combination of flavors. - Soup: Cold Paprika Soup. A smooth and creamy soup perfect for summer. - Sashimi: Sashimi Platter with Amberjack, Sea Bream, Salmon, and Tuna. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, although the wasabi could have been stronger. - Intermediate Dish: Corn Tempura with Matcha Salt. The sweetness of the corn shone through in the crispy tempura, creating a delightful dish. - Fish Dish: Pan-Fried Sea Bream with Grilled Summer Vegetables. The sea bream was cooked perfectly, with a crispy skin and tender flesh, complemented by a refreshing sauce. - Main Dish: Rice with Assorted Pickles. A variety of pickles accompanied by rice, a traditional Kyoto-style offering. - Dessert: Milk Agar with Fruit Cocktail and White Peach Gelato. A well-thought-out dessert that was a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, the course provided good value for money with generous portions and quality dishes. The restaurant's secluded location, just a short drive from the tourist hotspot of Arashiyama, offers a unique dining experience. I look forward to visiting again, especially during the autumn foliage season.

When you're in trouble and need a place to relax, this is my favorite spot to go when I'm lost. We had a large group so we were seated on the second floor, which was spacious and comfortable as it was reserved just for us. It had been a while since I last visited, but the restaurant was still as good as ever.

I visit this restaurant every year during the autumn foliage season and it never disappoints. This time, I went with my child for the first time and they brought us rice along with the sashimi, which was so thoughtful! My growing son enjoyed it so much that he asked for seconds, and they happily brought more. I will definitely be coming back again.

I make a reservation every year during the autumn leaves season. The dishes are elaborately arranged and visually pleasing. The bread is all-you-can-eat, so I enjoy plenty of freshly baked delicious bread before the courses continue. The final pickled vegetables assortment is truly delicious, so I leave room in my stomach until the end.

I used it once for a celebration and the food was very delicious. My friends also use it often. I visited privately for the second time. I ordered a lunch where I could eat both fish and meat. I was impressed from the appetizers - the edamame tofu was delicious. The cold corn soup with corn ice cream was crispy and incredibly tasty. The food, dessert, and scenery were all great. Last time, the autumn leaves were beautiful. I think it's better to make a reservation before going. I will go again ★

I visited this restaurant with my mother-in-law who lives in Kyoto, along with my wife for dinner. Located near Arashiyama, this elegant place offers creative cuisine combining Japanese and French flavors. The interior is like a Western-style mansion with a mix of Japanese and Western elements, creating a nice atmosphere suitable for a date. They offer counter seats facing the window, making it also suitable for solo dining during lunch. We had reserved a dinner course, which consisted of appetizers, soup, sashimi, seafood dish, meat dish, ochazuke, dessert, and coffee. All dishes were eaten with chopsticks, but the sauces, seasoning, and presentation were a fusion of Japanese and French flavors, all of which were delicious. The restaurant is a bit far from the station, so you may need to take a car or bus to get there, but the surrounding area is nice, making it worth a visit when you come to Arashiyama. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I often use the course during the day, but this time, I received an invitation from the email club for July and inquired about availability at the last minute that night, and was able to use it in a hurry. Every time I come, I am impressed by the elaborate tableware. Tableware is also part of the meal, right? Also, the course was very affordable as a member of the email club. From the eel appetizer to the dessert at the end, I was full. The petit bread is delicious because it is freshly baked. Refills, like rice, are also free. Additionally, the variety of pickles is also delicious. It goes well with rice.

When you want to enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal, this is the place to go! The atmosphere is like a hidden gem, perfect for a sophisticated date. Despite feeling a bit fancy, the prices are reasonable, with courses starting from around 3000 yen for dinner. Lunch can get crowded during peak tourist seasons like cherry blossoms or autumn leaves, so it's better to go at off-peak times or opt for dinner for a more relaxing experience. The menu offers a mix of Japanese and Western dishes with a touch of Kyoto flavor, and the freshly baked fluffy bread that you can have seconds of is a favorite. The serene view from the window and the welcoming goldfish at the entrance add to the charm of this place. Bringing guests from other prefectures will surely make them delighted and say, "Thank you for taking me to such a wonderful restaurant!"

The last time I visited was five years ago... I had a good impression back then, so I decided to revisit this time. However, this time turned out to be different from my previous experience. The food was enjoyable like last time, but the service, or shall I say... the time between each dish during lunch was long. In fact, most dishes were served with a 15-minute interval. Isn't that too long?? I couldn't help but wonder, "Is it still not here?" multiple times. It may have been a busy period, but with the small portion sizes, waiting 15 minutes was tough. Maybe it was because we ordered the water course?? The person sitting next to us, who was there for over 30 minutes longer, probably had a higher course with more dishes. Observing the timing of the dishes being brought out... it seemed like the water course with fewer dishes was being served at the same time as the neighboring person's mountainous course. This led me to the conclusion that the fewer dishes meant the next dish would be served later. Lastly, I believe we were charged a service fee. We ended up paying 10% more than the actual amount. If the service was outstanding, I wouldn't mind, but with no explanation of the dishes and staff just placing them on the table (although there were some who explained), responding with "I'll check" to our questions about five dishes... it was disappointing to leave a place that offers a beautiful location and reasonably tasty food. Probably... I won't be revisiting.

The retro interior and atmosphere of the restaurant were very calming! I ordered the "Mizu Course" for lunch, which included appetizers, soup, bread, sashimi, intermediate dish, palate cleanser, fish dish, rice, pickles, dessert, and coffee. It was a satisfying meal with just the right amount of food. The seasoning was just right for me, not too light or too heavy. On the way out, I bought my favorite kombu daikon as a souvenir. I usually had to ask at the group restaurant Someno Sukebe for it as a souvenir, but they sell it at Yuuyama! Website: http://www.turning.co.jp/

I visited this restaurant with my family during the day before and ordered the 7700 yen course, which was well-received by my family. This time, I visited at night for my mother's birthday and ordered the same 7700 yen course. The course included a variety of dishes such as Japanese-style appetizers, steamed matsutake mushrooms and conger eel, grilled blackthroat seaperch with tomato sauce, simmered red snapper, steak with grilled matsutake mushrooms, and three types of desserts. Throughout the meal, freshly baked bread (pumpkin, raisin, sesame, etc.) was served, and it ended with rice and a generous serving of pickles. The highlight of the meal was the final course of rice and pickles, so it's best to save some room for that. The dishes and tableware had a mix of Japanese and Western influences, but they were all easy to eat without any strong flavors, making them suitable for everyone from the elderly to children. The children's course, priced at 1500 yen, included a mini salmon roe bowl, mushroom soup, hamburger and shrimp fry, salad, and two types of desserts. The restaurant opens at 5:30 PM and closes at 7:30 PM, allowing for a relatively leisurely pace to enjoy the meal. Located a bit away from the city center, it's a good place to visit after sightseeing in Arashiyama or Sagano, or after watching fireflies at Kiyotaki.

I was invited by an acquaintance and visited this restaurant for the first time. Right from the moment I entered the shop, I felt uneasy about the service... There was no "welcome" greeting, and no explanation on what to do after taking off my shoes... I was eventually shown to a table on the second floor. Despite having a reservation, it seemed quite busy, and unfortunately, I could only see the view from a distance (ノ_・、). The dishes were all elegant... It seems that the focus is more on appearance and quality rather than quantity, but they were a bit too small and left me somewhat disappointed. And most of all, the pace of bringing out the dishes was slow! I waited for 30 minutes for dessert to arrive after finishing my meal (^_^;). I understand that they may be busy, but I would prefer to enjoy my meal a bit more smoothly. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was modern, and the displayed ceramics were beautiful. The taste of the dishes was good, but if they had a bit more volume, I would feel more satisfied... (laughs) If I were invited, I would go again, but I probably wouldn't choose to go on my own...

This restaurant is one that I often use for lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by the high cost performance when I first visited! The cuisine is based on creative dishes with a Japanese twist. They only offer courses, but the course includes appetizers, soup, sashimi, simmered dish, fish dish, meat dish (depending on the course), rice, pickles, several desserts, and coffee. The seasoning may be a bit inconsistent at times, but overall they do a wonderful job for the price. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and not tense, making it a good place to enjoy a leisurely meal. It seems like it could get crowded during the autumn foliage season, so I try to avoid visiting during that time. Depending on the season, you may also be able to enjoy a wonderful view. I recommend making a reservation in advance during such times!

I was able to visit this restaurant a few times at night. The storefront has a slightly unique atmosphere. Inside, there are private rooms that make you think of a French restaurant. The cuisine is a delicious fusion of Japanese and Western dishes. The portions are decent, so even young men should be satisfied. At first, I was a little surprised when bread came out after the sashimi, but I understood that it was part of the dining experience. The dishes are visually appealing. It's a great place for families or couples. The location has a lot of charm, so I think guests from Tokyo or other areas would enjoy it. There are several other restaurants nearby, each with different cuisines and styles, so I'd like to try them out as well.

When guiding tourists for sightseeing, I often recommend this restaurant for its good appearance and reasonable prices. It's great for strolling around Saga. The meals are offered in courses starting from around 2000 yen, with a mix of Japanese and Western dishes including bread, rice, dessert, main course, and appetizers, making you quite full. I recommend sitting by the window if possible. It might be especially nice during the autumn foliage season. It's better to make a reservation in advance if possible.

I often use this restaurant for lunch. First of all, the atmosphere inside is great. I can feel the attention to detail in the antique-style interior. The windows are large and offer a nice view. The cuisine is a mix of French and Japanese, with beautifully presented dishes that reflect the season. There are lunch courses for 2800 yen, 3800 yen, and 5000 yen, but even the 2800 yen course is filling. It includes soup, bread, appetizers, main dish, and rice with pickles, with free refills on rice. The pickles and pickled plums are delicious and can also be purchased. Of course, coffee and dessert are included. This is my favorite restaurant and whenever I go, the food is always delicious, so my friends are always happy when I take them there.
