On the evening of Friday, July 14, 2023, I visited this bakery for the first time because I was craving a baguette for dinner. It is tucked away from the main street, so you only notice it when you get closer. I parked my bike in front of the store and went inside to make a purchase. I was drawn to the baguette and melon pan, which looked delicious, so I bought those. When I got home and had them for dinner, they were delicious with a nice balance of firmness and softness. The melon pan was also tasty. I will definitely try other breads next time.

A small shop quietly nestled in a residential street. It's a bit of a walk from the station, so be careful not to overlook it! The Supreme Croissant looks delicious, but this time I went for the simple yet tasty ⚫ Yomogi Bread (3 pieces for 227 yen including tax). The yomogi bread is quite ordinary. I wish it had a bit more fragrance. I definitely want to try this! The ⚫ Cinnamon Marble (437 yen including tax) was a great find, as it was discounted by 20% due to its irregular shape. What a deal! This is more than enough for me, and I'm happy. It's consistently delicious. The size is just right, and the price is very reasonable. It's not too big, so it's easy to finish. Thank you for the meal.

I love bread. Going to a bakery I've never been to before always makes me excited and nervous. I always buy cream bread and red bean paste bread. It's best to eat bread on the same day you buy it. I bought mugwort bread, red bean butter bread, cream bread, black bean paste bread, chocolate Danish, red bean paste bread, and minced cutlet roll bread.

Arrived around 12:30 on Saturday. It was earlier than last time, and maybe because the weather was not so good, there were still plenty of options available. Both the sweet bread and savory bread were delicious. The fact that they were small and reasonably priced was also nice. There were also many sandwiches displayed on the refrigerated shelf next to it, which looked good too. This time, a young and beautiful female staff member helped me pack my items in the bag I brought. The temperature had dropped, the wind was refreshing, and it had become a pleasant season to stroll around the shops a little longer.

During the pandemic and recent increase in mischief, shopping from this kind of showcase is a bit convenient. I bought a sandwich and a sweet for lunch. The entrance is a bit hard to find, so be careful not to miss it.

A quiet area near Nijo Castle that I like. The interior is minimalistic, and you order by requesting from the staff, who seemed to be the owner. They open from 8:30 AM, so it's best to visit in the morning. I tried the sweet croissant and curry bread, both were delicious and reasonably priced. It seems they also have a store in Uniqlo in Yamashina.

I used to visit the old main store frequently. This is my first time since it changed to this location. I bought a few items, but the taste was a bit off. To be honest, the flavor seemed dull, lacking a clear personality, and the bread itself wasn't very tasty. Maybe I just picked the wrong items. I'll try buying something else nearby to see if it's any better.

After having lunch and on my way to the next shop, I suddenly noticed a cute bakery in a slightly hidden building on the first floor. I was encouraged to go in by someone outside, and I opened the door by myself. However, I realized that I usually buy bread for the next morning from a bakery in Kyoto, but this time I had a breakfast-included plan. So, I decided to buy some snacks instead. I purchased some long-lasting rusk, chocolate financiers, and a twisted doughnut. The rusk had a nostalgic look with plenty of granulated sugar on top. I enjoyed it later at home and it tasted just like the good old days. The chocolate financiers came in a pack of three with a fluffy texture more like cupcakes than financiers. The twisted doughnut also had a nostalgic taste with granulated sugar coating. Although I had imagined a stylish bakery when I saw the sign, the three items I tried this time all had a nostalgic taste reminiscent of childhood. Across the street on the first floor of the building, there was a shop selling Kyoto-style stationery, where my husband and I visited. The shop owner was very kind and shared various stories with us, mentioning that they had participated in a Kyoto exhibition at a department store in Miura Peninsula just a week ago. Both my husband and I found our favorites and made purchases. It was quite enjoyable, so I recommend it if you are in the area. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the new location of Boulangé Okuda in Kyoto's Kita-ku near Nijo Castle. The shop has a stylish atmosphere with a concrete design. The previous store was more luxurious with a chandelier on the ceiling, while this one is more compact. I was told by the staff that they closed the old store in February and started operating at the new location on March 1st. The price of the bread is around 200 yen each. I bought three different types of bread: a mini melon pan, a croissant, and an anpan with butter. The melon pan had a unique crunchy texture from the sugar on top, the croissant had a nice buttery aroma and was crispy, and the anpan with butter had a chewy texture with a deep flavor. Overall, the bakery maintained its deliciousness even after the move.

The store has been relocated here, so I stopped by as I passed by. I had trouble finding the store before because the car was parked in front of it. This time, the store was small and had a face-to-face bakery. I know that Okuda's bread is delicious because I sometimes buy it from another store. On this day, I bought several of my usual favorite breads: anpan (184 yen), yomogi anpan (205 yen), butter rolls (65 yen each), two of them, a wiener dog (259 yen), and a cinnamon roll (227 yen). The bread wrapped in gentle dough was delicious as always. The prices are reasonable too!

Croissant that is slightly sweet and delicious. The outside is moist and the inside is dense and packed with flavor.
