Visited this restaurant for the first time with friends who are on a business trip from Tokyo to Kansai in search of flour-based dishes. The okonomiyaki in Osaka and Kyoto had a slightly different taste. The yakisoba with sansho pepper was a new experience for me. Personally, I found the negiyaki with plenty of kujo negi to be the most delicious. Also, we used a Drink Service coupon from Tabelog, but it was disappointing that it was only for one person, not for the whole group.

The shops at Kyoto Station tend to close early, so it's very much appreciated that this place stays open late! I tried the negiyaki and okonomiyaki, and they tasted more like Kyoto than Osaka (laughs). It was delicious!

Lunch! Okonomiyaki is a side dish! - by a person from Kansai The okonomiyaki lunch costs 1000 yen and comes with miso soup and rice. The quality was quite average... It might not survive in the city center, but well, it's inside Kyoto Station, so there are probably many tourists passing by.

I stayed at a hotel near Hachijo-guchi and had dinner there. I had Kyoto-style yakisoba (you can choose between soy sauce and sauce, but this time I chose soy sauce). It was safe and delicious. The noodles were chewy and had a light taste more like dashi than soy sauce. There was plenty of Kujo green onions, and pickled ginger was also served, so I didn't get tired of it and was able to eat until the end.

I was exhausted on my way back from Tokyo, so as soon as I exited Kyoto Station's ticket gate, I found a place nearby for okonomiyaki, which was requested! I chose the cheese omelette without hesitation ∠( ˙-˙ )/ My mom went for the squid and modan-yaki ∠( ˙-˙ )/ Even though I'm not a fan of carbs, I always go to okonomiyaki restaurants with a wide variety of side dishes♡✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼ With the concept of "eating to lose weight," I enjoy gourmet food٩(`・ω・´)و I would be happy if you could also check out my Instagram♪ ID 《 @kanae.0402 》 Thank you in advance m(*_ _)m✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼••┈┈••✼

This is a shop located in the Kintetsu Meiten-gai inside Kyoto Station. The shop opens at 11:00, so about 10 minutes before that, there were already around 10 people waiting in line in front of the shop. However, the shop didn't open until 11:06, which was a bit surprising. Although it's just a 6-minute delay, some people might be concerned about catching their train since it's inside the station building. But it seems like not only this shop but also several other shops in the area open a bit late with customers waiting in line. We ordered a yakisoba set meal for 860 yen and a seafood okonomiyaki for 1080 yen. The yakisoba set meal came with yakisoba topped with a fried egg, rice, miso soup, pickles, and cold tofu, which was a typical Kansai-style satisfying meal. The seafood okonomiyaki had delicious prawns and was enjoyable. Both the yakisoba and okonomiyaki were tasty, and the staff's service was good, so we were satisfied with our experience.

It was crowded inside the station. There was no paper to write my name, and when I peeked inside, it was full! That's all they said... When I asked again from the back, they told me to wait outside. Even though it was busy, I don't like it when the service is not polite. The food was okay, but it's a bit disappointing.

I went on Saturday night. I wandered around Kyoto Station and found an okonomiyaki restaurant, so I decided to go in. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively and nice. They also cook okonomiyaki and yakisoba and bring it to you. For those who want to cook it themselves, they might be a bit bored, but for others, it's good because there's no risk of messing up. They also kindly inform you that it will take 15-20 minutes for the food to be ready. I think it's part of their business policy. I was a bit indecisive when looking at the menu, but I ordered the following: - Yakisoba - Okonomiyaki (pork and egg) - Dashimaki Tamago with Kujo green onions - Potato fries Also, since I'm staying in Kyoto for sightseeing today, I also had a draft beer. It's great not having to go home right away. As for the food, the yakisoba was okay. The dashimaki tamago with Kujo green onions didn't have a strong green onion flavor, just a regular onion taste. I was expecting to be impressed, but it felt like something you can find at any izakaya. The potato fries were perfectly fried and delicious. The okonomiyaki, on the other hand, had a slightly sweet sauce, but with each bite, the flavor deepened, and it tasted rich and delicious. I thought, "Wow, this is tasty." I recommend the okonomiyaki!

Great atmosphere with a lot of energy and friendly staff. They offer a wide variety of teppanyaki dishes, including Kyoto yakisoba, and a diverse drink menu. The Kyoto yakisoba was generously topped with Kyoto Kujo green onions, making it a hearty dish. The presentation on the hot plate was also impressive.

I went to the teppanyaki restaurant "Kyoto Tonchintei" located at Kyoto Station Miyakomichi! I tried the Kyoto yakisoba sauce and Kyoto yakisoba shoyu (980 yen), Kyoto Kujo negi dashimaki (680 yen), Tonchintei Special (2480 yen), and butter-fried oysters! The Tonchintei Special was amazing with its generous portion size. Restaurant Information: Kyoto Tonchintei, 31-1 Higashi Shio-koji Kamaden-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, 600-8215. Opening hours: 11:00-23:00. Phone: 050-5487-6519.

I visited the restaurant around 3:00 pm on a holiday to have a late lunch. The place was almost empty, so I could get in quickly. The menu featured teppanyaki dishes, including okonomiyaki, which looked very delicious. I ordered the Kyoto-style okonomiyaki, omu yakisoba, and butter-grilled yam. They also had local Kyoto beers available. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The butter-grilled yam was delicious, with the perfect combination of yam, butter, and soy sauce. The okonomiyaki and omu yakisoba that followed were also very tasty with well-balanced flavors and generous portions. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. It was a great dining experience! Thank you for the meal!

I visited before 1 pm on Saturday and was able to enter without waiting. Since I was alone, I was seated at the counter. I ordered a local beer and Kyoto tofu with Kyoto yuba tempura. It came with three large tofu pieces and even three large prawns. The gentle and sweet tofu with the yuba in a gentle sauce was incredibly delicious. It was more filling than I expected, and I started to worry if I could finish the negiyaki (green onion pancake) by myself. Next, I ordered beef tendon negiyaki and a sake tasting set. I thought the negiyaki would be lightly flavored compared to the okonomiyaki with sauce, but it had a solid taste. The generous amount of sweet green onions and the chewy dough were incredibly delicious. I was quite full, but as a solo female diner, I managed to finish everything! I am completely satisfied. On a side note, there was a female staff member with a new employee badge. The manager? gave instructions in a gentle and encouraging manner, and the way they supported each other was very smart and considerate. When the staff members have a good relationship, it makes the customers feel more comfortable. I will definitely visit again when I come to Kyoto.

On a regular weekday afternoon, I had to transfer from JR to Kintetsu at Kyoto Station and decided to have lunch at the food court Miyakomichi in Kintetsu Kyoto Station. While walking around, I came across a restaurant with a sign that said "Kyoto-style Okonomiyaki" and thought it was quite unique, so I decided to go in. After sanitizing my hands, I sat at the counter seat. Although there were lunchtime limited menus, I was drawn to something more unique, so I ordered the Kyoto Kujo Negiyaki set. I was informed that it would take about 15 minutes. They were cooking several servings of okonomiyaki and yakisoba on a large iron plate. The green onions were piled high on top of the batter, and as it cooked, the pile gradually decreased in height. As it neared completion, a tray with rice, miso soup, chilled tofu, and pickles was served. I started eating the rice with tofu, and soon the Negiyaki arrived. They warned me that the iron plate was hot, so I should be careful. Unlike regular okonomiyaki, it wasn't topped with sauce or mayonnaise. Perhaps this is the Kyoto-style. I cut it with a spatula and tasted it. The seasoning seemed to be dashi soy sauce. It was light and clearly different from the taste of sauce. Since it was piled high with green onions, the flavor was quite subtle. I thought maybe they could make the flavor a bit stronger since there were so many green onions. I dipped it in a little soy sauce on the table. I couldn't help but feel like I was being a bit rebellious (laughs). Speaking of being rebellious, I also felt like I didn't need the rice. If I come back next time, I would like to try just the okonomiyaki with a drink.

On Monday, January 3rd, I went to Tonchintei Hachijo-guchi. I thought the steak set would be cheap because it's a Monday, but as expected, they weren't serving it due to it being the third day of the new year and not a weekday. Well, I had already decided on my second choice anyway - the Yakiniku set for 930 yen. The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like a quaint diner, with a large teppanyaki grill along the left wall where they cook. I arrived at 11 am and there were only a few customers, but by noon, it was full. I ordered and the food arrived in about 5 minutes - so fast! This place specializes in teppanyaki and okonomiyaki. If you order okonomiyaki, it will be ready quickly if you order it from 11 am, but customers who arrived before noon were told it would take 20 minutes to be served as there were many orders for okonomiyaki and negiyaki. I realize now that this place is popular for okonomiyaki and negiyaki. Maybe I made a mistake by ordering the Yakiniku set. I should have gone for the okonomiyaki or negiyaki. I feel embarrassed eating yakiniku while everyone else is ordering okonomiyaki. The yakiniku sauce was on the salty side, but balanced well with the refreshing daikon radish. The portion of meat was about 80% of what was shown in the menu photo, which was a bit disappointing. The side dish was a simmered dish with katsuobushi on top, made with konjac and vegetables - something that anyone would enjoy. Since the restaurant was full by noon, I left immediately after finishing my meal. I think next time I'll go for the okonomiyaki instead.

It has been a month since my last visit. Last time, I visited on a Monday when they had a special on steak lunch, but today I ended up choosing the yakisoba set after much deliberation. It's full of carbs, but this is the taste of Kansai, right? It was made with thin noodles, but it was still good. This is Kyoto for you, I guess!

I tried the squid and green onion okonomiyaki that was made with plenty of Kujyo green onions. It was quite loose and not as firm as I expected, but I wonder if that's the Kyoto style? It was good to have plenty of Kujyo green onions and large chunks of squid, but it was a bit greasy. The mayonnaise provided on the table wasn't very tasty.

After a long time, I got off the Shinkansen at Kyoto Station for work and wandered over to Hachijo-guchi in search of lunch at "Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi." I went in with the intention of having okonomiyaki, but ended up ordering the "steak set" on Monday's special offer for ¥1,160, which was discounted to ¥900. The steak with grated soy sauce was made with lean meat that had a good texture. The Kyoto-style tofu and pickles were served in a generous portion. Unfortunately, the rice was not very tasty. Maybe I should have stuck with the flour-based dishes instead.

During the state of emergency, I had a long break, so it was a long-awaited return. I wanted to eat okonomiyaki, so I headed to a restaurant, but ended up having a steak set instead. It was the Monday special, so lunch was a good deal. There was only one set left. It was delicious, but the yakisoba set the customer next to me was eating looked really good. Next time, I'll either have the yakisoba set or make sure to have the okonomiyaki. 😄

Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit "Kyotonchinte" I finished work early, so I had lunch at the restaurant street "Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi" at Hachijo Exit. It was my first time here, but it's a clean and nice restaurant street. A convenient location for using time before catching the Shinkansen. Of course, my target was the okonomiyaki restaurant "Kyotonchinte". I found out that there is another store on the north side of Kyoto Station. The spacious restaurant has an L-shaped counter, open table seats, and semi-private seats that can be easily partitioned. There are plenty of seats. There is no iron plate at the seats, it feels like an izakaya mainly focused on okonomiyaki. I chose the "Choice Teppan Lunch" for 880 yen. You can choose 2 main dishes from 6 options, and it comes with white rice, miso soup, and pickles. It's a great value. Although there is fried rice and dashimaki, I chose the "Special Yakisoba" and the "Fudo Pork Ball". The special yakisoba is a dish with yakisoba and pork ball topped with a half-cooked fried egg. The sauce is sweet with a hint of spiciness. The contrast between the fluffy dough and the crunchy cabbage is delightful. The cabbage has a nice sweetness to it. A simple but delicious okonomiyaki. White rice, miso soup, pickles... White rice goes well with okonomiyaki and yakisoba as side dishes! It was a classic Kansai-style meal.

I stopped by Kyoto Station for lunch and decided to visit this restaurant. I ordered the famous rolled omelette and chicken (with sweet sauce) set meal. It came with white rice, miso soup, and minced chicken. It had a subtle yet deep flavor typical of Kyoto cuisine. The chicken was tender and the rolled omelette was delicious, making me want more rice! The rice was so good that even if you're good at balancing the side dishes and rice, you'll find yourself running out of rice quickly. It was lunchtime, so I would like to visit again for dinner. Thank you for the meal.
