A shop near Kyoto's Nishiki Market. With about 6 tables, the interior has a clean and elegant feel. Despite the crowds of tourists nearby, this shop is filled with regulars, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. The dishes offered are unique and not found elsewhere, making you want to come back here specifically to eat.

A popular Italian restaurant in Kyoto frequented by celebrities. They have a large wine cellar underground. I ordered the 7300 yen course, starting with fresh broad beans and ricotta cheese. The broad beans were rich in flavor and paired well with the cheese. The appetizer platter included fresh asparagus, cold bagna cauda, tomato soup, prosciutto melon, and carpaccio. Followed by seasonal pasta, steak, and dessert. Each dish was delicious and reasonably priced.

Every time I visit, the quality of Anti seems to be deteriorating little by little... I was looking forward to a fun lunch starting with a beautifully plated dish that reflects the season, but it felt more like a bite-sized amuse-bouche... I wonder if it's due to the difficulty in sourcing ingredients because of abnormal weather conditions, or if it's because of the high prices of Western ingredients. Normally, I would be excited to take photos of the appetizers, but this time I passed on it. The pasta was delicious, with a classic flavor that everyone can enjoy.

Among the meals I have had so far, the traditional Kyoto Italian restaurants that come to mind are Tanto Tanto, Casa Bianca, and Di Bodi Ba. These places don't focus on extravagant or surprising ingredients for the sake of Instagrammable dishes, but they offer a taste of traditional flavors that have been enjoyed for a long time. The clientele consists mainly of older locals and tourists. Every dish in their courses has a light base with a subtle depth of flavor. The waitstaff has been the same for a long time, and they are modest, unobtrusive, and calm. These restaurants are perfect for those days when you want to leisurely enjoy a gentle Italian meal that is kind to your stomach.

Located near Kyoto Shijo-Karasuma Station, "RISTORANTE divo-diva" offers a lunch set including assorted appetizers, spaghetti with whitebait and Kyoto vegetables, and espresso for 2000 yen, with an option to add three desserts for 700 yen. You can enjoy carefully prepared dishes that bring out the natural flavors of vegetables.

I was able to make a same-day reservation at a restaurant that is usually hard to book. It was my first time visiting. The restaurant is located just a 5-minute walk from Nishiki Street and Daimaru, making it very convenient. The bright and calm interior allowed me to enjoy my lunch while watching people pass by on the street. The owner chef is actually a big fan of wine, with over a thousand bottles stored in the cellar underground. They are happy to bring out a bottle if you feel like it. The appetizer, a bagna cauda, did not use cream, and the dessert sorbet was made from bergamot fruit, adding a special touch. Everything was delicious, but what stood out the most was the pasta and vegetables, which highlighted the natural flavors without relying on salt.

Accompanied by my mother and sister, I visited this restaurant for the first time. My family had been here a few times before, and they seemed to be on friendly terms with the chef, chatting and laughing together. It had been a while since I had enjoyed such authentic Italian cuisine. The food was undeniably delicious, and the wine recommended to us was also excellent. It seemed like many celebrities were also dining here. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The mushroom pate served at the beginning was well made and I could tell it was from a long-established restaurant. However, considering the price range, it was a bit expensive. The fish dish was a bit too salty. One disappointing thing was that they didn't refill the wine glass when it was empty. If I were paying for myself, I wouldn't revisit, but if someone else is treating me, I would go again. It was delicious though. (laughs)

The food was delicious, of course, but what really stood out was the friendly attitude of the chef and staff, as well as the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. They use plenty of Kyoto vegetables, and even though I had meat this time, each dish showed a dedication to quality ingredients. I have a sweet tooth, and choosing a dessert was a tough decision, but it was so delicious that I couldn't help but exclaim. (Oh, and the homemade bread was amazing too!) There are so many good things to say that I can't fit them all in here, but be sure to check out the posters by the hallway on your way out!

The movie poster of Kaundo Kosendo is displayed, suggesting a close relationship. We were seated at the counter and enjoyed a casual meal. The creamy pasta with prawns was delicious, and the staff were excellent. I had a great time on this short trip. ENJOY!

I went thinking it was Italian, but it was a bit disappointing. They use plenty of Kyoto vegetables and it's really delicious, but it's no longer Italian. I wanted to eat Italian, so I'm a little disappointed.

The appetizer smelled like it came from the fridge... other dishes were too salty or tasted only of garlic... very disappointing.

The ingredients and dishes were plentiful and well-prepared. I chose the cheapest course due to time constraints, which included appetizers, pasta, and a drink for around 1600 yen including tax. Even the first course had a wide variety of items. The food was elegant and delicious, although the appetizers and pasta had similar flavors. It would have been better to try a different pasta dish with tomato sauce. The second course may take about 1.5 hours, so plan accordingly.

If you want to enjoy pasta easily in the city in March 2017, this place would be a good choice. I have been visiting this place since my early 20s, so it has been more than 15 years of one-sided relationship (lol). With their 30th anniversary, you can understand the name value of this place from the number of flowers received from celebrities. As usual, I ordered the Heartland, Taisho shrimp, and scallop tomato cream pasta. My wife went for a change-up with the spring vegetable and shirasu oil pasta. The sauce is rich in ingredients and elegant as always. However, whether it's due to my food experience or just getting used to it, I couldn't feel the usual excitement in the taste anymore, which was a bit sad. Still, for a 1500 yen pasta lunch, the quality here is something you would expect from a long-established restaurant. It's hard to get a reservation at Higashitou-san, and they don't accept reservations for pasta lunches here either, but that's just how their system works, so depending on the time, you might be able to get a seat. During cherry blossom viewing season, why not give a try to this long-established Italian restaurant without giving up? Highly recommended! :)
