I arrived at the restaurant around noon on a regular day and there were about 4 people waiting in line. While waiting in line, I decided on my order from the menu. After a 15-minute wait, I was finally seated inside. The restaurant was run by a couple, and the wife's customer service was very polite. During lunchtime, you could add a plate of 3 kinds of tempura vegetables for 150 yen, and I was told that I must try it because the tempura is delicious! So, I definitely ordered it! For the udon, I was torn between choices and ended up ordering the small portion of kitsune udon (2/3 of the regular portion) for 1050 yen. After a while, the udon and tempura arrived. I tried the udon right away! The noodles were thick and had a chewy texture – very delicious! The broth was a nice balance of sweet and salty, with the sweetness from the fried tofu seeping through. The fried tofu was thick and satisfying to eat. The crunchy Kujo green onions were a nice touch! The tempura was smaller than I expected, but for 150 yen, it was reasonable. It was advertised as 3 kinds of tempura, but there were actually 4! Eggplant, bamboo shoot, green pepper, and kumquat. The batter was crispy and light, very elegant. The vegetables were sweet and fantastic! I tried kumquat tempura for the first time, and it was delicious. Even though I ordered a small portion of udon, with the tempura, it was enough to fill me up. I would like to try their cold udon as well, as it seems to have a firmer texture. It's a bit pricey, with prices raised significantly due to inflation, with each bowl costing over 1000 yen, which I honestly think is expensive, but given the current circumstances, it can't be helped.
