I was interested in the 40cm Wiener, but got nervous and ordered a half portion. I heard that they opened during the pandemic, so I imagine they must have faced some challenges. However, I was happy to see Slam Dunk manga in the store. I always want to support stores that have Slam Dunk. The owner is in their 40s, which gives the place a calm atmosphere. They seem like a kind person. The appetizer was delicious. The hot dishes were elaborate and enjoyable. The highlight today was the pork Karaage! It might have been my first time trying it. As a Karaage enthusiast, I prefer chicken, but the pork had a good texture and went well with beer. The portion was also generous, so I took some home. The potato salad was also delicious with a nostalgic taste. I will definitely come back since the portions are generous and I like the flavors! ( ⸝⸝⸝⁼̴́◡︎⁼̴̀⸝⸝⸝)

I love ton-teki, so when I heard they serve it for lunch, I had to go! The menu looked impressive from the photos, so my expectations were high. I ordered the Warm Egg and Pork Teppanyaki Bowl for 1,100 yen (tax included). I was expecting something like the Ton-Teppanyaki from Yodoyabashi (Osaka), but it was different. The sauce was subtle, with a sprinkle of black pepper. It was more like a refined cafe meal. I prefer dishes with lots of fatty meat and sticky sauce, so this was a bit different for me. The portion size of the meat was not as big as I had hoped. The serving bowl was also on the smaller side. I was hoping for at least some miso soup or something similar. Maybe I set my expectations too high. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I finally visited the Ton-TeKi restaurant that I've been curious about for a while. I splurged and ordered the Triple Ton-TeKi for lunch. The restaurant is located just north of the main shopping street, on a one-way street facing north. You can drive north from the intersection just after the Salad Sancho on the south side of the main shopping street, and the restaurant is about 30 meters to the north. Inside the restaurant, the walls are covered with menus, giving it a bar or izakaya vibe. The Ton-TeKi dish that arrived lived up to the expectations raised by the menu photos! Ton-TeKi is the perfect side dish for rice, isn't it? The meat had a nice thickness and chewiness, and before I knew it, I was nodding in approval as I ate alone. Lastly, the playful spirit of the owner was evident in the games of rock-paper-scissors and dice that could win you various prizes like coffee. It was heartwarming to experience the hospitality of the owner. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again!

Today, I visited the pork steak cafe BAL Boke in Fushimi. The store opens at 11:30, but I arrived 15 minutes before opening. There is a coin parking lot across the street from the store, with space for about 20 cars. Since no one was lining up yet, I took a stroll around the nearby shopping street. When I returned to the store 5 minutes before opening, there were already 3 groups waiting in line. When the store opened, I was seated at the counter. I ordered the pork steak, pork cutlet, and shrimp fry set meal, with a large portion of rice. After a short wait, the set meal arrived. The pork steak was very tender and had a sweet flavor. The cutlet and shrimp fry were also delicious. The set meal came with mayonnaise, ginger oil, green onions, and garlic chips for seasoning, so I didn't get tired of eating it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The owner was drawn to Tonkatsu and visited the restaurant. Located near the Fushimi shopping street, when we went for lunch on a Thursday, we were the only customers. The Carbonara didn't have much flavor, just a strong taste of coarse ground pepper and powdered cheese. The salad was average. The Tonkatsu was also average. I don't think I'll be coming back. The inside of the restaurant is cluttered and interesting.

I visited the pig steak and cafe BAL Bokusan, which I used to DM before ☆彡 It was the usual follow-up to Tokariko-san (laughs). I visited by walking from a nearby coin parking lot as there is no parking available. I had the Stamina Tonkatsu set meal (1290 yen), with the option to choose from large, medium, or small portions of rice at the same price. I skipped the Japanese folktale platter this time (laughs). After a short wait, the Tonkatsu was served on a hot iron plate. It was smaller than I had imagined. The garnishes included green onions, fried garlic, mayonnaise, grated daikon radish, miso soup, and I chose a medium portion of rice. The Tonkatsu was tender with a good balance of sweetness in the sauce and was very delicious. The meat had more volume than it appeared. There were also other attractive lunch menu options available. The owner was a gentle and kind person, which I liked. I received a complimentary pork tempura by adding the restaurant as a friend on LINE. I recommend it as a lunch option in the Otemichi area. They serve lunch until 16:30.

Stamina Pork Steak Set Meal for 1290 yen. It was Saturday at 12:30. The restaurant was full! It's a popular place! I waited for a while and was seated at the counter. I ordered the Stamina Pork Steak Set Meal. It arrived in about 10 minutes! While waiting, I read manga that was in front of me to pass the time, "Steel Ball Run" (JoJo) and "Inazuma Eleven"! A cool choice! You can feel the owner's love for JUMP. The meal arrived on a hot plate with pork steak on top, onions below, and cabbage salad in the back. On a separate tray, there was rice (with free extra serving), miso soup, pickles, and condiments. By the way, you can change it to a Japanese folktale platter for an additional 130 yen. The hot pork steak was so tender! It was so juicy that I thought it was chicken! The fat was also delicious! It was quite thick and satisfying to eat! The rice, even in the extra serving, was just the right amount for the volume of pork steak. The miso soup was full of ingredients - pork, konjac, daikon radish, burdock root, carrot, shimeji mushrooms, and more. The condiments were ginger, mayonnaise, green onions, and fried garlic. When I tried the pork steak with ginger and mayonnaise, it tasted like a thick ginger pork dish! It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating! I finished it in no time! In the evening, it operates as a meat bar, but it seems to serve lunch as a pork steak cafe until around 4 pm. I will definitely use it frequently in the future! Thank you for the meal! I will come back again.

Two middle-aged men visited and spent around 5,500 yen. The parking lot was full, no customers inside. We visited as our second stop. Had highball, garlic rice, kushikatsu, potato salad, etc. Next time, I want to go and properly try the tonkatsu.

After finishing work on Sunday, I had a late lunch around 3 o'clock. The Obihiro pork bowl was sold out, so I opted for the Stamina pork teki bowl. I wanted to eat a hearty amount of meat, so it was just right. When I finished eating and was about to leave, a couple came in. Lunch is available until 4:30, which was really convenient.

I saw this restaurant's flyer and it looked delicious, so I felt like eating there. The owner had been running a cafe in Shiga Prefecture for 13 years. Using that experience, they opened a shop in Kyoto last year. "Bringing back smiles and laughter to the food and beverage industry where laughter has disappeared" - how wonderful. Stamina Pork Teppanyaki Set for 1260 yen, comes with rice, condiments, pickles, and miso soup. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice, and I chose medium. The portion of meat was quite generous. With condiments provided, I was able to enjoy it until the end. I thought it was a good deal for this price. Thank you very much. I will visit again!

I arrived a little before lunchtime! There were already customers, but the atmosphere was calm with wine bottles and product descriptions on the walls, giving a lively impression. I ordered Stamina Tonkatsu and pork miso soup! You can choose from small, medium, or large rice portions. The meat was tender with a hint of garlic, making it very tasty. I wish they had cooked sliced garlic with the meat instead of fried garlic. I also ordered Cheese Stick Fry, which was fun to eat as the cheese stretched out. Next time, I might try the omelette rice or pasta. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during lunchtime. The main dish seemed to be pork steak, and I was torn on what to choose, but I ended up going with the Stamina Pork Bowl (with miso soup). The Stamina bowl had a rice with a tasty flavor (sweet and salty) with a hint of garlic, which was nice! The pork was thick, fatty, and tender. The menu was a bit confusing, as you can add salad and miso soup, so I ended up wondering how much it would all cost. The portion was generous, so it would be nice if there were options to customize that too.

I finally found this place after it has been open for six months, so I decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered the Tonkatsu bowl for 990 yen and was able to finish about half of it. It took a little longer to be served, possibly because of the customers before me. The pork was cooked just right, tender and delicious. The miso soup was filled with lots of vegetables.

Today's lunch was at "Buta Steak Cafe BAL Bouk" in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto. It's a pork restaurant located on the east side of the Kyoto City Hall, just down the road towards Otesuji shopping street. They also sell bento boxes outside. Lunch is served until 4:30 PM. The seating area is in an L-shape with tables and a counter. The place is always crowded, indicating its popularity. There is also a counter along the short side of the L-shape. The restaurant is filled with nostalgic manga. As the name suggests, pork is the main focus here, with Tonkatsu being a popular choice. They also offer dishes like pork omelette rice and pork bowl. There are many options for fluffy omelette rice. They have a variety of side dishes that can be included in a set meal. Since it was my first time, I decided to go with the most popular dish, the "Stamina Tonkatsu set meal" for 1280 yen. The restaurant seems to have a pub-like atmosphere, with wine bottles displayed. Manga books are scattered all around. The Tonkatsu set meal arrived on a square tray with a hot plate. The miso soup contained konjac, carrots, and pork, resembling pork soup. The three small dishes that I initially thought were side dishes turned out to be condiments. They included ginger, mayonnaise, green onions, and fried garlic, though the use of mayonnaise was a bit puzzling. The thick slices of pork were lined up vertically on the tray. The meat was thick but tender, coated in a savory sauce with a strong garlic flavor that went well with the rice. I also added some garlic chips for extra flavor. The onions on the hot plate had absorbed the sauce, making them delicious. Although it's a bit off the main street of Otesuji shopping street, this restaurant attracts many customers with its delicious and charming dishes.
