When you go to Kyoto, be sure to visit this tea pickles restaurant. The first time I went, I was impressed, but now the quality seems to have dropped slightly. However, the amount of pickles is still abundant, and it's nice to be able to choose your favorite ones. I feel like there used to be more ways to enjoy it in the past, but I could be mistaken.

#Agoya Tea House#Pickled Vegetable Buffet at Agoya Tea House#All-You-Can-Eat Pickled Vegetables in Kyoto
When I visited Kyoto and was craving pickled vegetables, I remembered how great it was to have an all-you-can-eat pickled vegetable buffet in Nara before. So, I searched and found one in Kyoto as well! There was a huge line!! I arrived around 1 o'clock and I was already the 100th person in line!! They were closing the line around number 115, so I made it just in time!! After waiting for about an hour, it was finally time to eat!! This place was also delicious!! Especially the pickled mushrooms, eggplants, burdock, and potatoes!! They were unique and tasty, so I kept going back for more! They even had sakura bean paste, so I made sure to enjoy a dessert at the end as well. I want to eat there again...!

Around 12:30 on a regular day, there are about 5 groups waiting. You can choose between mixed grain rice or white rice for your meal, and the pickles range from classic to slightly unusual. Each pickle has a unique flavor, so the rice goes down easily. There is hot water in a pot on the table for you to make your own tea and miso soup. Next to the stand where the rice is placed, there is also a DIY mochi ice cream station with two flavors: regular red bean paste and matcha red bean paste. After eating a lot of salty pickles, the sweet mochi ice cream was a nice treat.

When I visited Kiyomizu Temple, I was really hungry so I tried the pickles buffet! I was worried it might not be enough, but there was rice too so I could make ochazuke and enjoy it in various ways, so it was delicious ^_^ It had a Kyoto-like feel that you can't find in Tokyo, which was nice.

Around 2:00 PM on August 30, 2022, a friend and I visited a restaurant for lunch but it was full. Luckily, they were still open after 2:00 PM, so we were able to get a table without waiting. The restaurant had a reasonable price, perhaps because it was a buffet style, and there were many customers in their teens to early twenties. We were served with dishes and then we could freely choose from the buffet area. It was interesting to see pickles that are not commonly found in the Kanto region, like Kyoto-style pickles, as well as corn, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. The food was delicious. I just wish the atmosphere inside the restaurant was a bit quieter.

When my mother and I visited Kyoto, we happened to come across this place and decided to try it out. It was a pickled vegetables buffet. There were so many interesting pickled vegetables that I ended up taking more than I could eat. The pickled potatoes were surprisingly delicious. It was so good that I wished I had more rice to go with it.

I used it for lunch. It was a buffet where you could eat as much as you like, from rare items like eringi and corn pickles to orthodox items like large pickled plums and daikon pickles. It was so delicious that I ended up eating too much salt.

Near Kiyomizu Temple, there is a tea pickling restaurant called Agoya Chaya. Here, you can enjoy tea pickles in a buffet style, where you can choose the ingredients to put in your tea pickles. There are many types of ingredients available, and you can try original tea pickles that you wouldn't normally have.

This time, I planned to visit Kiyomizu Temple and stopped by this place nearby. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was already a line, so I wrote my name on the reservation list and went sightseeing while waiting. I was able to get in after about 50 minutes. The menu was only one option, an ochazuke buffet. You can have as much pickles and rice as you want. There were many different types of pickles to enjoy. I wish there were some seaweed as well. I started by enjoying the pickles with rice before moving on to the ochazuke. It was a simple way of eating but delicious. Miso soup was also included. My favorite was the shredded mountain pepper. Enjoying the pickles, enjoying the ochazuke. Thank you for the meal.

I got caught up with a stray cat army and missed lunchtime at the restaurant I wanted to go to. I ended up at a place that caught my eye, where I had pancakes before, so I decided to try the ochazuke. They had a variety of side dishes, including pickles that I don't usually eat. I was determined to eat a lot of pickles if that's the case. However, I ended up wanting some main dishes after all.

A popular tea pickling buffet restaurant offers a choice of 20 types of pickles with white rice or sixteen-grain rice. Despite its popularity, the restaurant only has two staff members, including in the kitchen. The buffet style allows customers to serve themselves with pickles and rice for 1,600 yen per person, which may seem like a poor cost performance. However, from the restaurant's perspective, it is a highly profitable business. Enjoying pickles with rice is a unique experience, and finishing with tea pickles is a must.

The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat pickles. You can choose from white rice, sixteen-grain rice, or porridge, and pick from over 20 types of pickles. You can also make ochazuke, with hojicha initially but you can also choose sencha. Sencha tasted better, but since it's just tea, it's lighter compared to the usual ochazuke. Be careful, as having a lot of pickles in ochazuke can make it sour! The pickles were delicious!

During a weekday afternoon, two of us visited the restaurant. We were seated promptly at a table of our choice. I had read other reviews mentioning that they only serve pickles, and it's true. We were feeling somewhat hungry, so we wished they had a main dish. The taste was delicious though! It would be perfect if they offered this tea pickles with all-you-can-eat main dish!

On a holiday lunch around 12:30, there was no waiting time. It seemed like I was lucky to get a seat right away, as the place was always full. There was no menu, and empty plates were brought as soon as I sat down. The meal included: white rice, mixed grain rice?, rice porridge Miso soup: pour hot water into a cup with miso tea: hojicha (you can also ask for green tea for refills) There were various pickled vegetables, such as eringi mushrooms, potatoes, and bell peppers, which were interesting. Grated nagaimo with wasabi and yuzu daikon were delicious as always. I wanted to eat a healthy meal with a full stomach! For dessert, there was monaka! It was fun to sandwich red bean paste and matcha red bean paste by myself. I was already full by the time I finished the monaka, so I only had one, but it seems you can have refills.

This is a tea pickles buffet restaurant located in Ninen-zaka. You can enjoy a variety of 20 colorful pickles like a salad bar. There are also unique pickles such as paprika, sweet potatoes, and potatoes, along with options like white rice, sixteen-grain rice, and porridge, as well as Japanese tea, all with unlimited refills. The miso soup comes with a crispy rice cracker inside, and when you pour hot water, seaweed and miso come out from inside. I skipped the tea pickles and enjoyed various pickles with white rice, then had red bean and matcha flavored crispy rice crackers for dessert. There is no time limit, and it costs ¥1,600 (tax included), making it a great value for those who want to eat a lot but also care about being healthy! Children in third grade or below are ¥800, and those under four years old are free. The restaurant is open every day from 11:00 to 16:00. Reservations are not accepted, and registration starts at 10:00 in front of the store on the same day, with a sign-up sheet provided at the entrance. Payment is by cash or PayPay, and cards or electronic money cannot be used. The nearest station is Keihan Gion Shijo Station (18 minutes on foot), and the nearest bus stop is Kiyomizu-michi bus stop (6 minutes on foot), etc. There are no parking lots or bicycle parking nearby, so it's easier to visit by public transportation for sightseeing in the surrounding area.

I received the following items this time *\(^o^)/*○ Tea rice porridge buffet 1600 yen. Various types of pickles. Enjoy them as tea rice porridge or as a side dish with rice! There are 2-3 types of tea and rice, so you can enjoy various combinations ♡ Located near Kiyomizu Temple, it's easy to visit while sightseeing, so it's always full. You cannot make a reservation, so you need to write your name on the board and return to the shop around the estimated time.

This popular restaurant offers a buffet of Kyoto pickles. Located halfway up the Ninen-zaka slope, there are many pickle shops along the way, but this buffet allows you to enjoy a variety of pickled vegetables. You can choose between white rice, sixteen-grain rice, and okayu (rice porridge), but white rice pairs best with pickles. Don't forget to try the monaka dessert as well. Lunchtime can get crowded, so it's best to go early or a little later. You can enjoy Kyoto pickles here.

It's a restaurant I've always wanted to visit. They offer all-you-can-eat pickles, rice, and monaka (a type of sweet). There were about 15-20 different types of pickles. The monaka is a DIY style where you can make and eat it yourself, with options like chunky red bean paste or smooth red bean paste, and they also had limited-time chestnut paste. The taste is delicious, but I thought 1620 yen was too expensive. I also wished that if we could eat unlimited pickles, then why not offer unlimited miso soup as well.

After the state of emergency was lifted, I visited Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto and had a delicious meal at Akoya Chaya nearby. They offered 20 varieties of pickles along with rice porridge, white rice, and mixed grain rice. The red bean and matcha paste filled mochi were also delightful. Thank you for the feast. Cucumber pickles are still my favorite.

This is a restaurant in Kyoto where you can eat all the pickles you want. There are various types of pickles available. Even though I don't usually eat pickles, I was able to eat a lot without getting tired of them. You can choose from white rice, mixed grain rice, or rice porridge. You can also make ochazuke (rice with tea poured over it) with the pickles.
