After about 7 years, I visited this place again. I had tried to come a few times before, but it was always fully booked, so this time I made a reservation in advance. Finally, I was able to visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant is still great, just as I remember it. I love it! The menu offers a variety of Kyoto traditional dishes as well as creative ones. What's more, they have a single item all-you-can-drink option, which is a big plus! And they even offer all-you-can-drink for the entire menu, which is very generous. Of course, they also serve delicious sake. The staff are all very polite. I will definitely come back again.

Today's izakaya near the hotel was a bit hidden but had a nice atmosphere. The staff seemed tough at first glance but were actually very friendly. The food was delicious, especially the simmered beef tendon with red konjac adding a nice touch. The sashimi of hokke fish was also flavorful and unique. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Nijo Premium and visited a nearby izakaya. Thanks to the Go To Travel campaign, the accommodation cost was in the low 3000 yen range for two people, so I decided to treat myself to a slightly more luxurious dining experience at a non-chain izakaya that I don't usually visit. The entrance was very narrow, but the inside was not too crowded. As a measure against COVID-19, every other table in the sunken kotatsu style seating was blocked off. The staff were dressed in a traditional Japanese outfit resembling yukata or jinbei and wore masks. They recommended various dishes for us, and we ended up ordering eggplant dish, summer vegetable tempura (including shishito peppers), a sashimi platter (with squid, salmon, and tuna) for 1100 yen, and wagyu beef tataki for 880 yen. The appetizers (corn jelly and eggplant and okra simmered dish) were elegantly presented and delicious. The tableware was also very intricate. For drinks, my husband had a draft beer for 500 yen, and I had a lemon plum wine soda for 550 yen, which I really enjoyed! We decided not to go for the all-you-can-drink option. Overall, I was satisfied with being able to enjoy delicious local vegetables from Kyoto. The wagyu beef could have been a bit more rare. Thank you for the meal.

In terms of taste, it's like an ordinary izakaya (Japanese pub). They offer all-you-can-drink courses for a reasonable price (around 2000 yen). This time, I wanted to drink sake, so I enjoyed local sake with some snacks. In particular, the Yauyama (Niigata Prefecture) was refreshing and easy to drink. Thank you for the meal!

Recently, I haven't been there, so this is a blog post from 2017. It may be different now. Please note that. Just a short walk from my regular stay at "Kyoto Urban Premium Nijo". It's a popular place, so I'll stop by and make a reservation before going to the hotel (^^;) It's not a chain store, but the prices are reasonable and there are many menu options! They also have Kyoto-style obanzai dishes. Along with the hotel, this place is also our favorite (^-^) The entrance is a bit hard to find. You enter from this narrow side. Take off your shoes and go upstairs. All seats are sunken kotatsu style. There are also counter seats. It was early in the opening when we went, so there was no one there, but soon more and more people came in. Two types of sashimi. Crispy burdock. This was delicious (^.^) Beef tataki. We don't eat this kind of thing at home (^.^) Horse mackerel. This was also very large, one and a half servings per person were more than enough! They also have desserts, but we ended with this at that time. The bill came to 8370 yen, including a few drinks. I'll also show a few photos from a previous visit. Appetizer and sashimi of sea bream and squid. It's fresh. Grilled Kyoto eggplant and tomato with cheese. Fried tofu. Pickles. The staff members are all very friendly, and I feel like going back after a long time (^-^) It's a popular place, so making a reservation is a must.

I have been attending ZUMBA classes at the gym every Sunday for about a year now. It started as a warm-up before my workout, but it turned out to be much harder than it looks. The class is filled with people of all ages dancing and having fun, and I end up sweating and out of breath more than anyone else. Recently, there was a ZUMBA class gathering at a restaurant called "Yotaku Ninomaru (Senbonmiboku)". We opted for the popular course with a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option. We enjoyed various dishes including sashimi, salad with mentaiko and grated yam, grilled Japanese beef, pizza made with fresh wheat gluten, deep-fried saury and autumn vegetables, dried horse mackerel from Toyama, rolled omelet with dashi, grilled chicken thighs with Arima sansho pepper, and egg porridge. The course was satisfying and we even indulged in the expensive "Tateyama Ginrei" sake at the end. It was a great meal and now I need to work off all the food and drinks at my next ZUMBA class. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

The atmosphere is nice. However, the food is lacking and the portions are small, so it may not be suitable for men.

The dishes on the course menu as well as the all-you-can-drink options were both excellent, providing a very enjoyable time that was worth more than the price. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience! <(_ _)>

During the summer holiday, I visited the restaurant around 7 pm without a reservation and was lucky to find a seat available. I ordered a la carte dishes and added a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option for ¥1500. Despite not having many seats, the staff was attentive and responsive, which was impressive. The service was quick from ordering to serving, and I have never experienced such a high level of service at a restaurant before. The complimentary dishes were eggplant simmered in broth and mini chawanmushi, both with a subtle yet distinct flavor. For individual dishes, we ordered sashimi for two, beef tendon and daikon stew, spicy cod roe salad, grilled shiitake mushrooms, and deep-fried small shrimp. The dishes were well-seasoned and delicious, with a mix of hearty and light flavors. Even when our drink ran out and we had to buy more, the staff provided clear explanations and attentive service. The all-you-can-drink option was reasonably priced, and even after the time limit, we continued to drink at an additional cost. The entrance to the restaurant may be a bit hard to find, but I highly recommend giving it a try.

I visited a restaurant near my hotel after viewing the Hanatouro in Kyoto. I had made a reservation for 9:00 pm, but arrived earlier than expected. The restaurant was quite small and the sign was hard to spot, which is probably why it was not crowded. The staff were efficient and the food was tasty, although I had expected it to be more lightly seasoned. The beef and leek dish was particularly delicious. The atmosphere was lively, with mostly locals who seemed to be coming from work. The egg rice porridge at the end was a nice touch, but we had to ask for spoons as we had assumed it would be eaten with chopsticks. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening. Thank you for the meal.

When entering the store, I was greeted by a staff member wearing a kimono saying "Welcome!" in a Kyoto-style greeting. The interior of the store looks similar to any other izakaya at first glance, but it is divided into tatami and counter seats, making it easy for even solo customers to enter. The menu is rich in sashimi and fried dishes, but there were no photos so it was hard to understand what the dishes were like. However, the sashimi was fresh and the fried dishes came out quickly, leaving a good impression. It seems that they also host parties.

I used this restaurant for a workplace social event. The interior is Japanese-style with sunken kotatsu seating, which is very calming. The dishes are served in stylish bowls with delicate presentation, such as duck cooked on a hot stone or raw wheat gluten in white miso fondue, offering both visual and taste enjoyment. The only downside was that all the reasonably priced bottled wines were sold out. I hope they restock them for my next visit.

We used the restaurant as a group. It is located in a somewhat local area near Nijo Station, but it seems to be revitalizing with the recent opening of a large supermarket. There were about 9 people in our group, and we used a course menu. The food was delicious, and there was a wide variety of drinks available for all-you-can-drink, so we were able to enjoy until the end. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also good, and I thought that even if you come as a couple, you can enjoy it sufficiently. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious, so I thought I would like to visit again after watching a movie in Nijo. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Good taste. The access from Nijo Station is decent. The interior of the restaurant is clean and stylish, and both men and women can enter without feeling out of place. The pricing is also satisfactory. The staff's service is good. There was a cheerful staff member wearing a yukata. Also, regarding the reviewer who felt uncomfortable about the lack of a spoon for the porridge, it is common to eat porridge with chopsticks. It's similar to eating pickles with chopsticks. It's within the realm of normal customer service not to provide a spoon for porridge.

Although it faces onto Senbon-dori, there are no signs so it's hard to find. It was packed in no time, maybe because it was the day before a holiday. We sat at the counter and could see the kitchen. The staff all seemed to be in their early twenties. Lately, we always order rolled omelette at izakayas, but this might be the best on Senbon-dori (lol). I don't think there's any starch in it, but it's layered and grilled one by one, making it juicy. I was a bit shocked that this young man grilled it better than me. We also got a complimentary dish of fresh wheat gluten pizza. I love wheat gluten, but the taste wasn't what I expected. I enjoyed the wheat gluten on its own, but the pizza was just like regular pizza. Also, the highball was strong @@ What's the point of getting drunk? The atmosphere is nice, with a 10% discount, so I'd like to go back again.

I visited with a desire to leisurely enjoy Kyoto-like flavors while savoring them. The entrance was intricately designed, giving off a hidden gem vibe. The inside of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, and the sunken kotatsu seating was cozy and comfortable. I was disappointed that they didn't have the hokke saute that I wanted, but the replacement, gengyo, a deep-sea fish, had a flavor similar to shishamo and paired well with sake and shochu. The braised pork bowl was substantial, with the pork being tender and flavorful. The egg added a creamy richness, making it a delicious dish. The duck and Kujo green onion pizza was heavier than expected, but the chewy and gooey texture made it hard to resist accompanying it with alcohol. The Kamo eggplant dish had a rich flavor that highlighted the natural taste of the eggplant. Lastly, I ordered dessert (the one with matcha warabi mochi), which was not only cute in appearance but also delightful. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a leisurely drink, so I would love to visit again when I come to Kyoto.
